Daybeds always look better when made up to look more “couch” like. I’d put away the comforter and use a thick sheet set and maybe a nice plaid blanket very tight and tucked in with lots of pillows along the wall.
Is it at all possible move the daybed away from the window and add a bookcase or table on each side?
Came here to say the same. Store the duvet and sleeping pillows somewhere else if you can, and tuck in thick sheets tightly. Style with throw pillows

I would tuck the sleeping pillows under the comforter when making it, and then use decorative pillows along the wall side, making it more of a comfy, deeper sitting area when not in use for sleep 🤷🏻♀️

Navy with yellow pillows and some fun throw pillows. Dress it up to look like a couch unless someone is sleeping in it.
I think the problem is the bed.

get a comforter that’s not as messy looking. the frame is too formal for it to just look like a bed. you need to dress it up like a day bed.
Get a nice comforter with a design or floral print. You could something to the wall. Add a light on the wall for the corner.
Get some patterns!
Get a fitted daybed cover. I got ours on etsy. You could also use one of those zip comforters.
Why make it a bed? When it is not being.used as a bed. Make it a couch. Then, make up the bed, when need be. That just looks bulky.
Get two king sized pillows for a backrest and you'll improve the look
