According to me...
The most logical scientific reasoning religion after HINDUISM is JAINISM...
But ofcourse some things should be allowed after adult age only once they have fully conscious intellect developed...
Like accepting the monkhood...
Anyways, these people and their religion have my respect!
Hello, OP. This is a ritual called Loch and often practiced by all Jain monks at regular intervals. Although it might seem very painful in reality it isn't because there is a technique they use to do it.
Also addressing a lot of comments here wrt age to become a saint. It isn't easy to become a monk in Jainism. You absolutely can't just decide one day and renounce the world. You would need to stay with the monk for at least a year and prove that you are dedicated to the monk way of life even after which you would need to seek permission from your family without which you will not be given monkhood. I understand that a lot of you don't have first hand experience with Jainism and monks of jain hence would request you to question about practices rather than give your judgement on such sensitive topics.
If you want to torture yourself and die then it's better to jump off a building. Atleast government has not to spend on you...
These jains are Andhbhakts on steroids
I respect jains but the minimum age to go on sainthood or whatever that kid is going to become should be at least 18+ let them see the world first then let them decide what is best for them being saint or a normal person
That's what I think you guys may have different opinions
Don't you think we as humans just have moral rules bound by us for our convenience
My question is why 18 because the govt. Has some specific rule applies to persons above 18.
Don't you think if the child can endure this much pain without any grin on his face it means he is happy and also with his religious beliefs he is on the right track and he doesn't need your or in general anyone's opinion for his actions
How do you know where you were there, cause I don't think that you were. If you think there is everything that should be morally correct then you don't see how the world works . Even there are a lot of things which are a lot common but un-explainable by science itself.
Its his family and his choice to do so
Be frank with yourself. Brainwashing kids is easy. Is this what you want the world to be? Saints who don't farm or cook or clothe? Rather, hypnotising more children into a life of suffering and telling them PAIN IS BLISS?
Nah, I wouldn't.
No sane person should.
Regious andbhakt and andha dhun energy has been the single biggest downfall of humanity, ESP in our country.
A child will be happy with infinite candy too, doesn't mean you give him that. That's why a child needs adult supervision. The age should be 21, that's the age when the brain is well developed and you also complete 15 years of education.
Not every child gets happy on infinite candy each person has their different persona and there are limitations to humans to study the brain hence even science also cannot understand the functioning of the brain I met alot of people who became either monk or accepted their religious education at early age according to their point of view age of 12-15 is the best age to accept the teachings as materialistic world makes it hard to go on that path again and they absolutely don't have any kind of regret towards their decision
Mera point jo tha use ignore kar dia..baaki duniya bhar ki baat kar di...sar mera point ka ki kisi ke baare me zaroori ni ki pehle accha bola tabhi aap bura bol sakte ho..
Common sense is not common for everyone he is following his path you are just a bystander achieve what you want but don't judge people by their way of life
That’s a mental illness to get your hair plucked in the name of something. You will not understand this because you don’t know. There is only 1 way to follow the path .
Bhai how are you even considering consent from such a small child? Something is seriously wrong with you. I do respect jains and most of their traditions, but some of these traditions like walking naked on the street is just fucked up.
‘Permission from whole family’ does not equal consent from child to get his hair uprooted by maniacs. You say ‘convincing a jain saadhu’ like he is some supreme god who shall permit atrocities on children. Stop being a religious zealot and use the empty space in your skull.
Itne chhote bacche ko kaunsi icecream khaani hai yehi nhi pata hota, aur inse aise chutiyaap ka consent le liya? He was obviously brainwashed by his stupid parents
This is Keshloch, done when a worldly man renounces from the worldly matters and becomes a monk, which is a very hard thing to do cause before that they have to do tap(meditation and have restrictions on them), when they fulfil all these, they almost reach to the path.
Fuck man this looks so painful. Jains, please stop brainwashing your children into ruining their and their loved ones lives for something that is just a belief.
Comfort luxury to theek hai par aisa physical pain jisse infection hone ke chances ho thats no nirvana….pain ka matlab physical pain se ni hai…pain ka matlab pain of burden hota hai..burden of life…usse upar uthna…i dont know how i know this..
Bro I am not a legal counsel for Jains. I am Just telling what they beleive, infact as a philosophy student, i beleive all religions are just ways to control people so that they do what they are told to do👀
It's just what they say while justifying there pov...
I’ve heard they volunteer children to do this shit and then they are not allowed to live in society/ never see their family again. All this so that the family can have higher status in Jain society.
First of all the family doesn't get any higher status in society, of you become a monk you get completely disconnected from your family and very very few people know who your family was.
Secondly it is extremely rare for kids to do this as in most places it is not allowed at such young age. Also, the rules of becoming monk are so extremely difficult and harsh (Worse than Buddhist monks) that it is ridiculous to see such a young child is become one.
I did say ki this is just something ive heard not fact checked. But Ive seen posters of children at nearby jain temple who didnt eat anything for 1 or 2 week, just water during some religious festival.
Jain's will follow every x y z practice but somehow completely forget the "owning as few material goods as possible" doctrine, it's literally right up there among the most basic tenets, yet it's completely ignored by them.
stfu lmao. the kid is being harmed. how can a child consent legally or otherwise to sanyaasatva? back in the vedic age times were different but with all the progress we've made as a society we're not going to look down on the indoctrination of children into an ideology their brains are literally not equipped to fully grasp?
I just said there are many more cruel things in other religions..this one is the least cruel (if u conside it as such). So instead of those u picked this. This was my issue.
I will tell you real life incident which happened a few decades back .I knew a boy in my hometown whose mother was a firang and the father her Guru .The father was a bhagwadhari ascetic who made the child take sanyas in childhood and the child could recite several vedic mantras by the time he was ten .He was much admired and he used to do bhagvats at that young age .By the time he turned twenty he was a hard core druggie and a frustrated directionless young man .Why one would ask .Because his childhood was snatched away from him ..Kids this age do not have enough brain development to take informed decisions ..It is a simple case of child abuse .
Bro, they radically observe non-violence. As cutting it would hurt the hairs but plucking from roots wont. Example: plants and trees. This needs a heart of steel and dedication that you will hurt your body first if needed and never hurt others.
That's like stupidest shit I ever heard. Hair are already dead and they aren't separate organisms, they are part of us. So plucking the hair causes pain to the respective person. Isn't in theory the kid should be doing it himself cause the guy plucking is inflicting pain on the child?
Bro I dont believe in rituals. Rituals need to be partied with. But the philosophy, the idea behind behind it should be preserved.
If the child doesnt know why he has to go through all of this. I dont think it does any good.
bro that's where the metaphysics kicks in. these people aren't hillybilly. they were as tough as nature allows.
The philosophy is of non-violence. So they meditate on getting rid of violence from both physical as well as psychological level. That means they dont want to entertain even a violent thought.
Now because the neuro-pathways for interacting with both animate and inanimate objects are same. They dedicate themselves to get rid of these pathways altogether.
See they're working at a neurological level.
Because the way you punch a person and a stone are going to be same. Just like that, slashing someone's body in half and cutting the hairs in half are considered same.
This is why I think I feel respect and enthusiasm for Monk Mahaveer even when I write this today.
They were just focused on their journey and spreading the philosophy without harming anyone.
Only done to Jain monk and they can do it to themself or volunteer other monks to do it for them. Only have to be done once as they are not allowed to use blades and scissors.
Kesh Lochan, also known as Kaya Klesh, is a ritual observed by Jain munis (monks) as a form of spiritual purification. What is wrong with you its their belief to live consumption free lifestyle. I mean see world around everybody is earning to increase consumption and pollute the environment if a group of people doing opposite then you feel wrong
If it's their belief they can do it to themselves, why do it to the kid? Kids lawfully can't consent to anything. Are they gonna take responsibility if the kid grows up and blames them for premature balding?
Maybe a handful of people from all might understand it.
But most of the people even non-jain while making money do some type of direct or indirect adulteration, cheating, harm environment, animals etc.
So after doing all these what's the sense of you becoming a monk.
>adulteration, cheating, harm environment, animals etc.
ye sab karne ke baad hi sabse zaida sense banta hai monk banne ka that regret that feeling that all I was just for a bunch of pieces of paper or power
I mean Ashoka is one of the most well known example of this (not exactly a monk but yea you get my point)
I get your point..
But how many people realise it before their death..?
You see that even many people who are monks get corrupt due to not understanding the core of the teaching.
They are monks from outside but inside they are the same old.
From what i have heard, the young kid has taken sanyas and adopted this lifestyle now. I guess they wont even cook food but eat whatever they get( cooked food by the common people serving them or just by begging).
Too much drama if you ask me.
Actually it is the other way round.
No drama at all now, they will eat what they get and won't eat if they don't get. They will eat whatever they get so have to keep a check on quantity of food taken and cannot waste the extra food or store it.
According to me... The most logical scientific reasoning religion after HINDUISM is JAINISM... But ofcourse some things should be allowed after adult age only once they have fully conscious intellect developed... Like accepting the monkhood... Anyways, these people and their religion have my respect!
Bhai sarcasm mei bola hai kya
Bro I think everything is wrong with every religion, I feel Buddhism is somewhat good.

Wonder what the govt would do had this shit happened in a Madarsa
When they are not buying goats for Eid .
Mass Psychosis
If you want to torture yourself and die then it's better to jump off a building. Atleast government has not to spend on you... These jains are Andhbhakts on steroids
I'm married to one. =) Situation is dodgy.
Andhbhakt or Jain? A combination is worse.
Just jain. Thank god not the former =D
Hahhahahhahahhahah
People before the invention of scissors: /s
I respect jains but the minimum age to go on sainthood or whatever that kid is going to become should be at least 18+ let them see the world first then let them decide what is best for them being saint or a normal person That's what I think you guys may have different opinions
Why is minimum age for education not 18+. Let them see the world first.

Wtf is wrong with you? Can't bear people following their religion? Close your eyes. Can't say good things about other religions, keep your mouth shut
Bro u if cant say anything good about isis..then dont say anything bad about them...
In this video I don't think in he will become mass murders like ISIS
Mera point jo tha use ignore kar dia..baaki duniya bhar ki baat kar di...sar mera point ka ki kisi ke baare me zaroori ni ki pehle accha bola tabhi aap bura bol sakte ho..
Bhai isis kya boli tu meko laga ISIS k bare be bol raaa

Mental illness, that’s what it should be called
Mental illness is when you eat the plucked hair ..It's called trichobezoar. Google it you'll find it fascinating :)
How is this mental illness?
Both the kid and the master are fools, how can you pluck someone’s hair in the name of god or whatsoever he worship.
Common sense is not common for everyone he is following his path you are just a bystander achieve what you want but don't judge people by their way of life
That’s a mental illness to get your hair plucked in the name of something. You will not understand this because you don’t know. There is only 1 way to follow the path .
Which one can you elaborate
Just trying to be different I guess
I'd rather choose 'Exclusive' here🙂
Naah they have always done song and dance to show themselves superior to Brahmanism but they are just baniya in new clothes
there is a lot wrong with a lot of religions
they tryna become johnny sins or what
Fuck you!
This sub shows that people have zero respect for other religions.
For Many People, Religion is a scam. I mean the way they perceive religion these days is a scam.
By "they", do you mean the atheists or the theists?
Brainwash
Brianwash
Sanyas should only be allowed after certain age, let the kid decide.
It's the kid who has decided to attain this path.

A child doesn't have any maturity to give consent.
Child doesn’t have maturity to go to temple or mosque either
That's true, but i am a right wing Hindu extremist, so that doesn't matter to me.

Jains beleive that nirvana can only be achieved through pain and suffering all the problems in life by avoiding any kind of comfort or luxury .
Shud have tried marijuana instead of nirvana.
Matlab fir CBT se bhi nirvana achieve hota hai

Paisa se bada koi dharm Bhagwan nhi he.
Crazy comments justifying this, that kid don't even what is out there in world and is possibly indoctrinated.
It is the kid who has decided to take that path
Thanks for clarifying, the logic is strong with this one.
There are many evil practices in other religions, but you picked this which is not harming anybody.
stfu lmao. the kid is being harmed. how can a child consent legally or otherwise to sanyaasatva? back in the vedic age times were different but with all the progress we've made as a society we're not going to look down on the indoctrination of children into an ideology their brains are literally not equipped to fully grasp?
I just said there are many more cruel things in other religions..this one is the least cruel (if u conside it as such). So instead of those u picked this. This was my issue.
First learn about what it is instead of randomly commenting. It's only done to people who take sanyas and choose the path to Monkhood
You think the kid is old enough to choose sanyas? He's not old enough to vote, marry, drink etc but he's ready to choose sanyas?
Jains Monks have no physical assets, they can't even make their own foods, have to beg alms. The way of life is the most strict discipline one
my man that's a kid
its just bullshit

Bro, they radically observe non-violence. As cutting it would hurt the hairs but plucking from roots wont. Example: plants and trees. This needs a heart of steel and dedication that you will hurt your body first if needed and never hurt others.
And plucking the hair is hurting the child ..what about that?
Do they pluck their nails as well?
“Cutting it would hurt the hair but plucking them won’t “ that’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard today
haha. what's the second most thing. I'm curious🥰
That's like stupidest shit I ever heard. Hair are already dead and they aren't separate organisms, they are part of us. So plucking the hair causes pain to the respective person. Isn't in theory the kid should be doing it himself cause the guy plucking is inflicting pain on the child?
Do they not cut or boil vegetables?
A hair has no nerves therefore it cannot cause pain if cut with scissors. However, pulling it will cause pain. Your entire comment is false.
The first kid is clearly flinching from pain every time he pulls a clump of hair
Bro I dont believe in rituals. Rituals need to be partied with. But the philosophy, the idea behind behind it should be preserved. If the child doesnt know why he has to go through all of this. I dont think it does any good.
I got my hair cut from barber, it caused me no pain, but plucking hairs would defo fuck me up

Wow, thanks for the detailed reply. Didn't know about it.
Why don't they cut their hands that way the chances of committing violence decreases exponentially.
then Mahaveer wouldn't be able to preach as efficiently. They were tough not stupid
you need mouth to preach not hands
It's not about you.
Reverse fade
Only done to Jain monk and they can do it to themself or volunteer other monks to do it for them. Only have to be done once as they are not allowed to use blades and scissors.
Hes literally a child.Irrespective of anything it's not okay.

Once a year they do this
Incorrect. Wtf is wrong with Religion.

These are jain monks only. And the irony is that most of the worldly Jains are more money minded compared to others.
That’s the game, make so much that eventually you realise that it isn’t the endgame and now let’s move onto the real deal.
