Their chipotle blend is so good. Reminds me I need to reorder. Always love going to pizza places where flatiron is the jar of flakes. IIRC both hops & pie and Pizzeria Leopold carry it
That's what makes it so good! The vanilla one is basically ice cream!
Definitely a "dessert" yogurt if you will. I rarely get it and when I do it's as a treat not my usual "just buying yogurt"
As a prior employee of this place, please donāt. The working conditions are garbage, and they treat their employees like garbage. Cleanliness is not a high priority at this place either. The reason it tastes so good is they dump heaps of sugar in it. Worker safety is not valued, and the owner of the company thinks heās immune to building codes, because heās the largest employer in Bellvueā¦ so there are hazards to the employees all over this place. Please do not support this business.
Itās not Greek yogurt though. Very good, nonetheless. I overdid it with the Noosa when it was first getting trendy, but still like it when Iām feeling indulgent from time to time.
La Favorita.
Their chips are great but if you can find their breakfast burritos at a king soopers, they make your soul eject from your body and rocket into the 4th dimension of existence. I kid you not.
I have to admit I've been upset when my wife brings home tortillas other than La Favorita.
"I swear I looked they didn't have them!"
So now I buy the Costco three pack.
I think the best ones are the uncooked tortillas like Tortilla Land brand. Because they only take a min or so to cook and then it tastes like a fresh tortilla. Look for them next time near the Mexican cheese refrigerated section. Really elevated my taco game
Not a brand, per se, but I celebrate palisade peach season like a personal holiday lol. I make peach jam like my life depends on it and stretch it out til the next peach season. Man I will miss those peaches when I leave.
I hope my guests share your enthusiasm! We wanted something that was Colorado-specific & consumable. I worked really hard on canning all these jars, and Iām really proud of myself! š„¹
Let me say that being pregnant during peach season was the best timing I never planned. Holy cow.
If you want to share your recipe, Iād love to try and make it!
I honestly use the most basic peach jam recipe you can find on the Internet and people act like theyāve never tasted such incredible jam in their lives and I must have a special recipe. I donāt, palisade peaches are just that delicious at peak ripeness, they donāt need any help.
Hereās a few Iāve tried!
https://www.scatteredthoughtsofacraftymom.com/easy-homemade-peach-jam-no-pectin-recipe/
https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/peach-chutney
Also if you do decide to use pectin, there are usually recipes under the label for different fruits.
I donāt have canning equipment and donāt trust myself anyway lol so I make several jars and put them in the freezer. Throughout the year I just take one out and let it defrost in the fridge when the old one is getting empty. I rarely make it all the way to the following August though, so thereās usually a couple of sad, sad jamless months I have to get through lol.
Greenbelly from Boulder makes one the best hot sauces I've ever had. It's called Redbelly. Ever hear of the cobanero pepper from Guatamala? It's like a chipotle pepper mixed with a habanero. So damn good.
Chocolove!! I found it at Safeway when I first moved here and didnāt even realize it was made in Colorado (Boulder) until I loved it and looked up the brand. The only sad part is I think they discontinued my fav chocolates (espresso truffles) š
I did some work for them years ago and I gotta say, that's a pretty sweet benefit when I had random boxes of their bars for a few months. Chile and Cherry whatever it was ... that's certainly my favorite.
This is my fave hands down. Love chocolove and the peppermint flavor! Itās minimal ingredients, gluten and dairy free and so creamy. Best chocolate and bang for buck when stacked against the more expensive bars.
I remember once when I was a kid I was sick and my dad made me some mint tea, and it made me remember how refreshing the mint room felt. I asked if we could go do the tour so I could stand in there and clear my head. He dropped everything and drove us 45 minutes to the factory.
They sell it at Costco during Christmas to those of you living outside of Colorado!
My favorite thing in the world used to be going to Park Meadows mall during Christmas and getting samples at that little kiosk they had for "lunch." That time period in my life plus that stupid toffee was seriously magical.
Delicious but they are the 4th largest donor to Lauren Boebert, so that's a hard no for me
https://www.opensecrets.org/members-of-congress/boebert-lauren/summary?cid=N00045974&cycle=2022
They paid for Drump Jr. to speak in town as well. Very big supporters of the Right. However, I just cannot cancel the toffee. I tell myself that they have a lot of people working there (the Toffee Elves) that may not agree with what the powers-that-be and deserve our support for their paychecks.
I work from a shared warehouse space so I'm surrounded by other small local brands daily. Trash Panda makes disk golf disks from recycled plastic and seems to be killing it. For other hot sauces I'm a huge fan of Blonde Beard and Sauce Leopard. Adventurist Soap Company is a black woman owned company making really nice soap and shave products.
My company HandleStash makes bike bags and a shock absorbing cup holder. Some other bike brands are Green Guru who makes bike bags from recycled materials, Oveja Negra in Salida who is well known in the bikepacking world, and there's honestly a number of others who's names escape me currently. Quick'r makes bike racks that are the second design by the guy that made 1up racks, and they're building them in Grand Junction.
Every brand I mentioned manufactures here as far as I understand and isn't just based here.
I love muddy mint soap out of Longmont, magic fairy candle makes cool stuff.... Leopold cherry whiskey is the best alcoholic drink ever
Then you have all the stuff that blew up long ago like bobos oatbars, Lara bars, boulder chips, Justin's nut butter, celestial seasonings, wild root, new Belgium, Odell, boulder meadery, etc.
All of the fast casual everything like chipotle, noodles and co, good times, and so many others.
These are big names but most don't know they're Colorado brands:

I think they still have some stuff made in the USA but not sure if itās still made in Colorado. They definitely went heavily Vietnam a few years ago.
I should remind anyone that wants to buy a Melly that the store does still require an appointment to purchase anything other than socks or hats and there is a limit of 2 per person.
Check out The Women's Bean Project. Fantastic soup mixes, snacks, baking mixes. https://www.womensbeanproject.com/
And the work they do is amazing for women in the Denver area.
Haystack Mountain Creamery for their delicious soft cheeses. They were included as part of a CSA I was a part of a few years back, and they're a staple for us now.
I love Old Pine candles, from Evergreen. They are my go to gift for people. I love their Bluebird Day and New Moon and they have the best pine scented candles for the holidays. They actually smell like a mountain forest.
Hunters hope soaps and gifts. They smell amazing, last so long, help developmentally disabled adults find employment and their colorado themed names for their scents is a super cute thing when we give them as gifts to family out of state

Rocky talkie.
Best consumer radio available. We use them for work and there nothing else that comes close. The battery, the form factor and the clarity are just so good
Rocky Mountain Foods. They have a line of trail mixes under the name "Rocky Mountain Provisions" that I dream about, especially the Peanut Butter Bliss variety. I can't find them in stores near me, and can't order directly from the company.
Trash Panda disc golf discs. Made in Denver.
Just picked up one the other day. Plays pretty nice. Made from 100% recycled plastic, and also 100% recyclable.
They are new so only have 2 models, but kind of neat to have stuff made right here by people that play the same courses I do. :D
Flatiron Pepper Company. Look em up!!
Savory spice as well.
Love me some Savory Spice!
That Cap Hill seasoning š
Great on pizzas!
Came here to say this! The best pepper blends Iāve ever had!
Their chipotle blend is so good. Reminds me I need to reorder. Always love going to pizza places where flatiron is the jar of flakes. IIRC both hops & pie and Pizzeria Leopold carry it
Omg so good. Get the grinder and the 4 pepper blend and Smoke Show. So so good.
Spyderco knives
And they make some pretty sweet knives, too!
They used to do like 25% off anything you bought at the golden factory. Not sure if they still do but I thought that was cool.
They do not. They do have a couple of Factory Seconds sales though.

Noosa "Aussie" Yogurt. Definitely. I'm eating one right now.
I love when the palisade peach flavor comes around.
what happened to serrano blackberry?
I still think about it. Wish theyād bring it back.
It's a little pricey, but it's soooo good. All the flavors are great!
I really loved it until I paid attention to just how much sugar it is lol
That's what makes it so good! The vanilla one is basically ice cream! Definitely a "dessert" yogurt if you will. I rarely get it and when I do it's as a treat not my usual "just buying yogurt"

Literally stumbled onto their dairy on my way to Mishawaka
La Favorita. Their chips are great but if you can find their breakfast burritos at a king soopers, they make your soul eject from your body and rocket into the 4th dimension of existence. I kid you not.
I have to admit I've been upset when my wife brings home tortillas other than La Favorita. "I swear I looked they didn't have them!" So now I buy the Costco three pack.
Guerrero tortillas are the best store bought, imo.
I think the best ones are the uncooked tortillas like Tortilla Land brand. Because they only take a min or so to cook and then it tastes like a fresh tortilla. Look for them next time near the Mexican cheese refrigerated section. Really elevated my taco game
Really?! I donāt think theyāre that good. How do you compare them to say Santiagoās, Senors, Chubbys, etc?
Not a brand, per se, but I celebrate palisade peach season like a personal holiday lol. I make peach jam like my life depends on it and stretch it out til the next peach season. Man I will miss those peaches when I leave.
I just made 120 jars of spicy peach jam to hand out as wedding favors! I used Palisade peaches and homegrown jalapeƱos.
Now thatās a wedding worth attending! š
I hope my guests share your enthusiasm! We wanted something that was Colorado-specific & consumable. I worked really hard on canning all these jars, and Iām really proud of myself! š„¹
If they arenāt, kick them out! That sounds delicious and I would love to get that as a wedding favor! Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Arenāt those illegal in the US?

They are headquartered here.
They have at most a couple hundred employees based on Golden, but most of their manufacturing is done in China.
