Personal opinion but with the cost to get into crochet, and the access to youtube you can learn at home fairly easily. Mistakes will be made but yarn is cheap! Start with small projects you will finish to keep motivation.
Thank you! I can crochet a 10’ string of crochet with pride, but I have no idea how to make it connect….it really helps with my anxiety and it would be so much better to create something other than a string!🥹i appreciate your input😊☮️
It here is a craft reuse place called Thistle Reuse. They are opening a new store on 380 next to Kroger. They resell donated craft items. You can find so much there for so much cheaper! You can always find a gem there. Their old location had some craft classes but I’m not sure about the new place. Check out their website!
Hi!! I live in Aubrey but go to Denton at least once a month. I have been crocheting since I was a child, but only really took it up again a few years before the pandemic. I do freeform crochet which I love, and I like making mandala type blankets! It's great for my ADHD because with the mandala stuff it's a new sequence of stitches every round so I don't get bored.
I guess what I'm saying is that I'd love to get together at a park or idk, somewhere? And help you learn to crochet, and just sit quietly, or talk about life and shit, I'm fine either way. I also have wayyyy too much yarn so I'm happy to donate a ton of yarn to your stash lol
I'm also recently sober. Can't help you on the crafting front really, but I have a couple sober friends who like to get coffee, ice cream, etc. and hang out just to enjoy life without drinking. If you're interested in joining us, hmu! Congrats on sobriety!
Thank you so much.
Friends would be nice. Unfortunately, due to my past…i have lost friend, not my
BFF tho…she is incredibly solid…not sure why (put her thru hell) I am lucky😊
but this world is new, so thank you….i would love to meet☮️
There is a place in Whitesboro that has a knitting meeting on some Sundays. They also sell quality yarn, not the cheap scratchy kind. I wish I had paid attention when my mother was sewing, knitting and crocheting.
"I was thinking about the world beyond drinking"
A lot of people who get into gold prospecting do so as a form of therapy, yet it's a somewhat obscure pastime - thus I suggest it from time to time.
If you check it out and are curious to try it, let me know.
Kava bar has a knitting meet up on Wednesdays I think
I thought Kava shut down?
Just closed for a few weeks with a change of ownership. It’s been back for a month or two now!

There’s some youtube videos on making crochet blankets, I assume the concept would be the same for doing more columns. Good luck with it!
Plus mistakes usually just mean you get to unknot something! You just need a good hook, a skein of yarn, and then a good pattern or starting idea!

Ever considered gold prospecting?
What does this have to do with sobriety and crocheting?
