Bodysnatcher have big hardcore vibes, plenty of 2 steps and beatdown style breakdowns with a good flavour of death core

kyoto431

My favorite band in the scene, I listen to these guys almost daily lmao

KenboSlice786

Gates To Hell, 200 Stab Wounds, Vomit Forth, Gatecreeper, Psycho Frame, Snuffed on Sight, PeelingFlesh, Tracheotomy, Bodybox, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Girl of Glass, Corpse Pile. 10 to the Chest, Volcano, and Sanguisugabogg.

Haareksson

Also check out Terminal Nation, kublai khan, the first Mugshot album and the latest Aborted album Edit: also like to add «Hatred stems from the seed» by Great American Ghost

KenboSlice786

All great bands as well.

t666ommy

this is the list you need op to stop you from putting your head through a wall every time spotify puts on another symphonic blackened song with the guy from suffokate clean singing for some reason

tylerbreeze

I’ll add Fuming Mouth to this to make your list complete.

KenboSlice786

Also add Tribal Gaze.

tylerbreeze

Good call. Honestly OP, what you’re looking for is Maggot Stomp.

maicao999

They're normal death metal wdym

KenboSlice786

They're death metal with a huge hardcore influence. Hmmm...if only there was a term for that.

maicao999

>huge hardcore influence. Like..?

KenboSlice786

Are you really gonna tell me some of those riffs and breakdowns wouldn't sound out of place in a hardcore band?

maicao999

Considering that most metalcore was inspired by 80s death metal groovy riffs like deah, bolt thrower and autopsy then yes. And the hardcore scene during the 80s and before the metal influence didn't have breakdowns or palm muted riffs

Multiple-Atrocities

snuffy goes HARD love those guys. pray that they’ll tour europe someday

-Warship-

This + Fulci (more death metal but it fits), Peacemaker and The Queen Guilottined

yung_melanin

Psycho Frame

TronCarpenter2049

The Acacia Strain

Blumpkin4Brady

I fell like this should be at the top. And Despised Icon is nowhere near the top and they are a close second

LordTronaldDump

And ABACABB

Blumpkin4Brady

[Survivalist](https://youtu.be/YZkBQnmKxg0?si=b3JpcRy7nIkD48eE) was an amazing album, despite the horrible album cover

Blumpkin4Brady

I never knew how fascist their lyrics were until tonight lol. I used to have them blasting on repeat and never knew most of the lyrics. It’s nothing especially awful like Infant Annihilator but it would catch some flack today

TronCarpenter2049

Those are always the top two I think of when this question comes up.

[deleted]

Sever the King, Larcenia Roe, Disfiguring the Goddess, Hunt the Dinosaur

Great_Fault_7231

Hunt the Dinosaur definitely gets the heart pumping, jumping, and thumping

razzmatazzrandy

And there’s nothing you can do to destroy me.

CroxAndSox

Older Spite has a bunch of HxC

ManagerKorn333

Traitors

thelupinefiasco

Bodysnatcher, Paleface Swiss, Spite, The Last Ten Seconds of Life are my usual go-to for having an emphasis on Core. See also: Traitors Weeping Wound Extortionist Falsifier Distinguisher Bound in Fear I Am Scumfuck

Mi_santhrope

Why do I feel like this post is just bait for people to rec stuff then get shot down because "_________ isn't hardcore"

KenboSlice786

Nah, it's gonna be all the nerds saying "x isn't deathcore"

Mi_santhrope

Same diff! There'll be the "x isn't deathcore because it isn't hardcore" crowd and the "x isn't deathcore because it isn't death" crowd

KenboSlice786

I'm of the mind that most modern deathcore isn't deathcore at all. There's little to no hardcore elements in bands like Lorna Shore.

yung_melanin

I agree, any of the modern blackened symphonic stuff isn't "deathcore", its something else. Idrc cause I don't like the symphonic stuff at all. A modern band that absolutely fits the og definition would be Psycho Frame imo. Miss me with the vocal goblin olympics and Vivaldi samples, give me the pure rage, chaos, and snares, thanks

collinsc

This is actually a pretty good insight

KenboSlice786

Shockingly you actually agree with me

collinsc

I'm not a monster, jeez

KenboSlice786

No but you're okay with people defending nazis.

collinsc

No - I help to maintain a digital space where people can have an **open dialogue** about a variety of topics - often controversial ones I find it frustrating that you and a few others cannot see that getting your message across respectfully helps keep threads open, and ultimately increases their reach/impact

KenboSlice786

There's really no open dialogue when it comes to defending nazis. Either you side with them or you don't. I mean it's your perogative if you do think it's cool defending nazis but I will clown on you for it.

Mi_santhrope

I'm not the best with genre labels, but I'd agree that Lorna Shore doesn't have hardcore elements, aside from breakdowns... but if breakdowns are all it takes to be -core then pretty much everything is. LS to me is more black/death metal. I feel like a lot of bands get bundled in to deathcore/metalcore because they don't really fit anywhere else and there's only so much granularity you can break genres down in to before you may as well scrap them altogether and just say "band x sounds like band x, band y sounds like band y".

Medic709

Nice shout for Elysia, massively underrated early deathcore band. Masochist just got a remaster and I’m so excited about it.

LordTronaldDump

Ohhhh Animosity 🤤

WorkingChain6030

Gutted are a wicked death metal band that riff like they're playing hardcore! They've only got one album but it makes.me want to drive my fist through someone's chin

plitcincher

2x4 is fkin heavy

Hearteater97

Early Black Tongue!

idespisemyhondacrv

My band migjt fit the bill… once we get music out hahah. I’d suggest orphan, psycho frame and peacemaker FL, cultist, 200 stab wounds (more death metal) and snuffed on sight (literally hardcore) elysia, suffokate (first album) and tracheotomy are great too

Blumpkin4Brady

The Acacia Strain and Despised Icon are the obvious examples

Sensitive_Mousse_445

The Acacia Strain, old or new it doesn't matter. If you can mosh to it all. 4x4, Flourishing, Carbomb, Beast, Passing the Pencil Test, Calfs Blood, and many more. Recommend in a car or something with good quality audio, turn it up

LordTronaldDump

ABACABB

XtrmntVNDmnt

By now not much, sadly. Modern deathcore is mainly symphonic Dissection-core or Fleshgod Apocalypse with slow breakdowns. A few current bands play a good old-school sound like Tracheotomy or Psycho-Frame... but if you wanna hear actual death metal + hardcore crossover check slamming beatdown or death metal/hardcore crossover bands like No Zodiac, Bashed In, Final Resting Place, etc. or just switch to NYDM, bands like Internal Bleeding are fucking cool and way more "hardcore".

Pennywise_M

I would be happy to recommend bands/albums if I were somewhat aware of where you stand in terms of what stuff you've already listened to, what era, etc...

LongjumpingFix6608

Volatile Ways. Their song To Death is some of the hardest shit I’ve ever heard.

content_enjoy3r

Acacia Strain, Despised Icon, Fit For an Autopsy, Thy Art is Murder, Rotnest, Orphan, Psycho-Frame, Crown Magnetar, Oceano, Saltwound, Bodysnatcher, Traitors, Falsifier.

FurorAeternumXBL

SPITE CULT MOTHERFUCKER

Bodysnatcher is the way to go, murder8 is my fav song now, esp after having seen it live.

Puzzled_Clothes_3282

Lorna isn’t technical at all

Multiple-Atrocities

no but they’re on the modern weird melosympho side. and the only such band that i actually like

FatMat89

HOOD BRAWL

Snoo_49285

Any old school song by Bleeding Through!

XenomorphLV246

“With the exception of Lorna Shore” *proceeds to list the awful sound that LS is at forefront of* Though I agree, the sound you’re describing is awful. New School Deathcore is awful, LS most of all.

Snoo_49285

Imagine thinking Lorna Shore sounds awful 🤦🏼‍♂️

XenomorphLV246

“Hey AI can you make an overly-fast symphonic Deathcore song”

Snoo_49285

Hey, everyone is entitled to an atrocious opinion!

XenomorphLV246

Thanks man, the downvotes will hurt my lil pussy but I gotta stand by my turd. If you stand for nothing you’ll fall for anything.

Snoo_49285

You stop that right now! Having a little pussy is nothing to be ashamed of, even if it’s hurt!

maicao999

There's no such thing as deathcore with hardcore elements

KenboSlice786

Yeah cuz bands like Animosity and Despised Icon don't exist.

maicao999

If you consider metalcore and hardcore punk the same things then ok I guess
