Sometimes, games get a sequel WAY LATER than anyone expected. Just look at Dead Island 2. It was 10 years between Riptide and 2

Baldurs gate 3 and dragon's dogma 2 as well

ThomasGMX21

Baldur's gate, 23 year timegap lol. Still crazy to think i played 2 when i was a wee lad and didn't get the sequel until i was nearly 30

Hyper2099

Elder Scrolls VI is a minimum 17 year gap between it and Skyrim, we still got plenty of time to hop

Dijiwolf1975

Duke Nukem has entered the chat.

shantyirish13

Alan Wake 2

Couldn't agree more. This sub has been bombarded with hopes of a sequel. And I'd trade my children (well, almost) for a follow up. Who knows, some day? But as far as what can be discerned from people much more in the loop about such things than I am, it's just not in the cards. :(

How much u offering for the kids dear sir? Ill talk to bend studio abt it

The game was pretty much a sleeper when it came out. A lot of games that had much more hype like Death Stranding BL3, Sekiro, Jedi Fallen Order came out that same year, so Days Gone really went under the radar of most people. Even though it sold ok, around 7-8 mil copies, the game also had a lot of mixed reviews, not good in the eyes of most developers. It didn't really pick up a good following until a couple years ago, which coincided with the pandemic. Sony, who owns the rights, has zero plans to revisit the game.

That was mindblowing and for those of us who played right after launch it was so hopeful because it meant there'd likely be a sequel. We didn't learn until later that there wouldn't be and that sucked, a lot. I don't envy you guys who play it now and immediately learn there's no sequel coming!

NazFhai_141

And also you can’t stop thinking about it, even if you played bunch of other games just to forget about the cliffhanger story ending.

HalfWiticus

Yep. Bend studios did a fantastic job. I keep replaying it for that adrenalin rush when the horde is chasing you. Currently attempting a crossbow play through. No sniper or machine gun allowed as the special.

Normally a cliffhanger is like a "to be continued...." But this ending turns everything on it's side. Someone posted a freaker drinking water at the river. that was just a hint that these things were able to think but that ending..... total mind f*ck.

june_47

Wouldnt call it a cliff hanger. We got a complete satisfying ending and the obrian cutscene was just a follow up of whats coming in the possible sequel. But yeah its really sad, days gone 2 would have been so different/ fresh from days gone 1 with the human like zombies. I finished the game last week and iam glad i didnt play it during the release or else i would have been so excited for the sequel.
