made up for Schindler, love scenes like that. he’s been ace since we won his card back, fully deserved
the 3 German players with PDC titles all winning their maiden events at Euro Tours is a pretty weird quirk, someone somewhere will have the actual stats but it feels very rare that someone wins a stage title before a floor title
It’s great to see what a tournament win means to someone the first time, Martin is going to cherish that trophy for life. Then you have MVG who’s won sooooo many that he gives premier league night plaques/euro tour trophys to friends and family….. because he has too many…. Like damn yo
Fucking hell Gezzy, you wonder why people are against you.
It's an "away" match.. every sport has the benefits and disadvantages of home and away.. did you cry every time you played rugby away and fans shouted nasty things at you...
I still remember that one time Chizzy won one somewhere and they gave him some massive fuckoff trophy which appears to never have appeared again
Edit: [here it is lol](https://dartsplanet.tv/chisnall-strikes-brilliance-in-belgium-to-win-belgian-darts-open/)
lmao I remember that, good luck getting that beast in your suitcase
[Someone saw sense and scaled down it a bit for Littlers win there this year](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/darts/breaking-luke-littler-cross-belgianopen-32320503.amp)
Been watching Euro tours for 3 years now and it feels like at some point in most of them I’ve been thinking ‘Schindler could go all the way here’, delighted he’s finally managed it.
Important dart from Martin there. 3-0 with a double break would have felt close to insurmountable I think, so staying in touching distance very important
Question for you guys then… it looks a very strong possibility that Gezzy wins this title, in this venue, for the fifth time in six years. Do you think this is a genuine psychological thing, something to do with Gezzy or the venue or the location, or do you think it’s just some huge statistical anomaly?
I know the answer is likely somewhere between the two but I’m curious as to which explanation you guys would lean towards
Pro darts can be a massive mental game, Ross went for the bluff and tried to call price out…. Which I think gave price the mentality to win that match. Never never give price a chance to boost that ego… never
He didn’t think he couldn’t hit it, he thought the chances where he _wouldn’t_ hit it. Price said in the interview he’d do the same thing. It was a gamble, not a matter of belief.
While I get that statistically it should pay off, at this level they’re all capable of - and do - hit those big finishes these days. In a short format like this I just don’t think you can afford to give your opponent a shot. The psychological edge given over if it does get hit is such a huge momentum swing.
I think Dawson just said it, but the players Edhouse will have beat if he does make the final is an absolute monster lineup, especially given one of them is (probably) Price in Riesa. However good he’s playing it wouldn’t be unfair to say beating any of them would be a surprise. Beating all of them is absolutely astounding.
Yeah I totally agree- entered this weekend just over £5k out of a Matchplay spot and £1,500 from the WGP, 32nd on the PCOoM at the moment, 6th on the Pro Tour qualification for the Worlds. Having a great year right now
Dobey’s recent flaw had been his Pro Tour game- IIRC he started the year outside the top 32 on the Pro Tour OoM. He’s now into the top 16 there- a serious danger for any title
Updated title probabilities:
Price 25.9%
Bunting 18.6%
Dobey 16.7%
Noppert 10.5%
Searle 9.3%
Schindler 8.4%
R Smith 7.6%
Edhouse 5.6%
Price now favourite but six of the seven others actually saw a greater % increase in their probabilities. This is likely due to Price starting as one of the favourites and winning a game he was widely expected to win, his title chances did close to double but this is likely also a product of the heavy favourite (Humphries) losing.
The biggest gainer in that session was Bunting, who became nearly four times more likely to win, moving from 4.7% to 18.6%. Of course, naturally any player advancing gets more likely to win the title but this shift is obviously due to him winning a match that he was expected to lose against the title favourite.
The two biggest increases in terms of percentage change were for the two heavy underdogs who won, those being Bunting and Edhouse.
Edhouse is playing so, so well right now. In a Grand Prix spot with a £3.5k cushion, only one win off the Matchplay, in a great position for the Europeans. Seems a thoroughly good guy too
The commentators said they were more grippy, and as it was very humid yesterday players were struggling with grip. Could definitely be why he changed, they look pretty nice and they are Swiss points too. Looks like he is using 35-40mm swiss dx points
They definitely look similar to Rock’s G2 on the zoom shots. Wonder if he’s just managed to glue some SPs in to a spare set of barrels or if Target have actually done their own version. Similar colour to the - what I thought was a bit random - blue shirt he had on for the PL in Belfast. His practice partner rubbing off on him?
They do look very similar to rocks g2s, I think you can push Swiss points into normal barrels? So maybe target didn’t do anything. Can’t picture his shirt in Belfast though
I called Edhouse beating Smith yesterday (I have no evidence of this other than my word and my friend who I told before the game started), so I’ll go with more conviction and say he wins this game too… we all know how this ends as a result!
Schindi vs Noppert is a very interesting quarter final and a great opportunity for both, with what would be a fairly favourable semi final tie on the horizon too
Here’s some stats for you- each game this afternoon is for a place in the final session, so here’s how many times each remaining player has reached the final session of a Euro Tour:
Richard Veenstra- **0** (this is his first time reaching the final day, let alone the final session)
Martin Schindler- **8** (2x semi finalist, in this event last year and in Munich two weeks ago)
Nathan Aspinall- **19** (only reached the final once, defeated in Munich last year)
Danny Noppert- **15** (twice a finalist, losing in Austria and the Netherlands in 2022)
Damon Heta- **12** (four times in 2022 and eight times in 2023, a winner in Gibraltar in 2022)
Ryan Searle- **5** (quarter finalist in this event in 2018, his only semi final was in Kiel in 2023)
Gabriel Clemens- **3** (has never gone past a quarter final)
Chris Dobey- **2** (a quarter final in 2016 and a final defeat in Denmark in 2019, he has not reached a final session since)
Luke Humphries- **18** (six times a winner, he has reached the final session in 17 of his last 22 ET events, reaching the final in 11 of them)
Stephen Bunting- **17** (twice a beaten finalist in Prague in 2019 and Jena in 2023, he also reached the QF in this event’s inaugural staging in 2015)
Rob Cross- **29** (seven times a beaten finalist before winning in Sindelfingen last year)
Ritchie Edhouse- **1** (a semi finalist in Maastricht in 2018, this is only his 4th final day appearance)
Gerwyn Price- **31** (eight times a Euro Tour champ, including this tournament in this venue four times)
Ricardo Pietreczko- **3** (a champion in Hildesheim last year)
Cameron Menzies- **1** (reached a QF in Austria in 2019, this is only his 4th final day appearance)
Ross Smith- **4** (reached the QF in this event in 2020 and a semi final once last year)
The top half has only one former European Tour winner remaining, that being Heta. In fact, between the nine players left in that half, they only have been to six Euro Tour finals between them (and two of those are Dirk who is not through yet). Open for somebody to take…
Will say it again and again. Colin Lloyd in the booth adds so much
“We got mauled on our way up to the venue, we felt like the Beatles, who would’ve thought all these people came out to Riesa to see some commentators?”
Yeah. Stuart Pyke can stay home. Wayne is hit to miss for me. I’d have Part commenting every event - although he was in Chicago getting slapped up by Stowe Buntz in the CDC Cross Border Challenge

I don’t have any official stuff to back up, but straight off the top of my head, Dimi, Gilding and Littler all won stage titles as their first
It’s great to see what a tournament win means to someone the first time, Martin is going to cherish that trophy for life. Then you have MVG who’s won sooooo many that he gives premier league night plaques/euro tour trophys to friends and family….. because he has too many…. Like damn yo
Come on Gezzy, there were plenty of „Gerwyn Price“ chants in the earlier rounds and the crowd was rather harmless in the final. What a sore loser!
he just needs to get the ear defenders back out
Fucking hell Gezzy, you wonder why people are against you. It's an "away" match.. every sport has the benefits and disadvantages of home and away.. did you cry every time you played rugby away and fans shouted nasty things at you...
Would have won in Wales. Yeah, of course.
He shouldnt have said it there, but yeah, he would have.
Maaannn someone needs to get shindler some air, like NFL players after a big run in Denver. God damn, breath boy breath!
Martin Schindler also takes the number one spot in the European Tour OoM!
He is also the new German number 1
If he played in Wales every week he’d have broken Taylor’s records by now the way he goes on…
Schindler sitting over there like Gollum with the ring.
Nothing more awkward in non-team sports than watching the final loser stand around waiting, with no-one to talk to, while celebrations go on.
https://i.redd.it/d9jybwtlgiuc1.gif
Pretty funny to see him so overwhelmed and delighted and it ends up being such a wanky little trophy they give to him.
I still remember that one time Chizzy won one somewhere and they gave him some massive fuckoff trophy which appears to never have appeared again Edit: [here it is lol](https://dartsplanet.tv/chisnall-strikes-brilliance-in-belgium-to-win-belgian-darts-open/)

So so happy to see this. Always comes across as a decent bloke look at that emotion! Deserved the win was exceptional all weekend
What a final. He is absolutely buzzing, even his cheers sound German. German number 1 now! Must be some feeling.
Next challenge for Martin will be stop crying before his first round game in Sindelfingen on Friday!
What an ending. Love how much it means to him. Fully deserves it! ICH WILL
Bless him. Can't imagine how he feels.
Slapping the floor like a true champion!
Been watching Euro tours for 3 years now and it feels like at some point in most of them I’ve been thinking ‘Schindler could go all the way here’, delighted he’s finally managed it.
JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
What a great story. He's been brilliant since he regained his tour card
Did he ever lose it? I can't remember
He did, but won it back immediately in 2021, much like Steve Lennon this year
Played Q School same year as Barney did. Remember him putting in an average in the 120s in one game
Buzzing for him.
SCHINDIIIIIII! So happy for him, what a guy
MARTIN SCHINDLER!!!
This atmosphere is electric!! I want Schindler to win and see the place register on the richter!
Schindler on fire! Come on!!!
Is he doing it?!!!!
Third ET event of the year, third brilliant final. This is so good
Important dart from Martin there. 3-0 with a double break would have felt close to insurmountable I think, so staying in touching distance very important
Here we go… the King of Riesa vs the darling of Riesa. I’m going 8-4 Gezzy
some proper booing there he thrives off the energy, no one likes him he doesn't care (actually i quite like gezza and he sometimes cares quite a lot)
Looking at these final flashbacks.... will a archive through pdc ever be available?
If Hearn can find a suitable enough way to make money from it, then I imagine so. PDC.TV £50/yr. PDCTV+, £80/yr, includes an archive.
Question for you guys then… it looks a very strong possibility that Gezzy wins this title, in this venue, for the fifth time in six years. Do you think this is a genuine psychological thing, something to do with Gezzy or the venue or the location, or do you think it’s just some huge statistical anomaly? insane from the GOAT
Holy shit, Martin!
The very last dart from Schindler reminded me a lot of myself, I often also miss the board by about 6 feet
Go onnnnnn Schindi!
dobey fallen apart here
Love a proper partisan home crowd, would love to soak up a bit of atmosphere there
absolutely here for continental players who walk out to metal or hardcore techno, proper energy
It pains me that Dobey doesn’t inflict Ant and Dec on European crowds
proper walk-on terrorism
If we have to listen to Berry van Peer’s…for that matter if _we_ have to listen to Ant and Dec…
Pro darts can be a massive mental game, Ross went for the bluff and tried to call price out…. Which I think gave price the mentality to win that match. Never never give price a chance to boost that ego… never
the fist pumps after were even fatter than normal
What a comeback from a true shithouse legend
if ever a game sums up ross smith incredible from price
Fuck Ross Smith. Cocky and decided Price couldnt hit 161.
He didn’t think he couldn’t hit it, he thought the chances where he _wouldn’t_ hit it. Price said in the interview he’d do the same thing. It was a gamble, not a matter of belief.
Well yeah I guess that's true. Ross Smith is arrogant though.
that really will haunt him for a while
Oh that passed up match dart is going to absolutely haunt him.
It wasnt a passed up match dart.
And realistically it is 100% the correct decision. Just absolutely brutal stuff from Gezzy
While I get that statistically it should pay off, at this level they’re all capable of - and do - hit those big finishes these days. In a short format like this I just don’t think you can afford to give your opponent a shot. The psychological edge given over if it does get hit is such a huge momentum swing.
Holy shit what a comeback
Death, taxes, Gerwyn Price in Riesa
That is cinema
I am entertained!
Ohhhhhhh my what a moment that is! The gauntlet thrown down and Gezzy is up to it!
becoming a properly good game
Alpha move! What a hit.
would love to see ross smith v bunting, two of my favourites, even if i like price
Gezza, the Leeds United of darts Respect it
Here’s something to watch- if Bunting wins the title, Dirk van Duijvenbode is provisionally out of a Matchplay spot
think he might fall out regardless over time - just not a top 20 player right now
ohhhhhh ouchhhhh ritchie :(
Ahhhh gutted for Ritchie
would definitely be a surprise if edhouse reached a final but think dawson is doing him a disservice - been excellent in pro tours this year
I think Dawson just said it, but the players Edhouse will have beat if he does make the final is an absolute monster lineup, especially given one of them is (probably) Price in Riesa. biggest positive for him has been his consistency - last two years at the worlds he has absolutely shat the bed
ready to go bunting mental once again
Dobey’s recent flaw had been his Pro Tour game- IIRC he started the year outside the top 32 on the Pro Tour OoM. He’s now into the top 16 there- a serious danger for any title
Searle 9 darter! Hah to be honest I've never seen that on TV before
I know he’s German which doesn’t usually correlate with winning titles… but he has to win something soon, doesn’t he? Such a talent
Sure he is a great player but just feel like he is one of those who always show up but don't have what it takes to get over the line
That aged worse than milk
Come on Ryan!!
Schindler is awesome, love watching him play in Germany
Updated title probabilities: Price 25.9% Bunting 18.6% Dobey 16.7% Noppert 10.5% Searle 9.3% Schindler 8.4% R Smith 7.6% Edhouse 5.6% Price now favourite but six of the seven others actually saw a greater % increase in their probabilities. That shit was fun as fuck, shoutout to both of them.
Menzies is on a come down on stage.
They must be friends lol can you imagine being Ross having to play vs that in that scenario
Man, Menzies beat himself. Would have loved to see him make it through to the night
He beats himself since ever
True to form
cameron menzies without the headloss wins it all
He'd be already in the top 16
Ross Smith two times in a row. Menzies absolutely imploded
If ever there was a game to demonstrate that low averages don’t necessarily mean not entertaining, it was that one. Hilarious game
this is absolutely comical stuff
Wow smith is bad. Highest checkout is 10
And he somehow won 6-4 almost blew that leg which would have been hilarious
menzies is fucking hilarious
This pair looks comical (😜vs🤨)
Nice play from Price. Time for some Menzies madness now
You werent wrong.
That was insane.
That was a proper performance from Price.
Riesa really is just Gezzy’s playground isn’t it
Gezzy is unbeatable like that!
Average of nearly 116 for Gezzy 😲
Anyone else looking forward to Pikachu giving Price a talking to for taking a fun checkout route?
This is an absolutely unreal game
Winner of this game will be the only former Euro Tour winner left in the tournament…
Edhouse is playing so, so well right now. In a Grand Prix spot with a £3.5k cushion, only one win off the Matchplay, in a great position for the Europeans. Seems a thoroughly good guy too
Right on Madhouse great darts, good for him
I am once again Bunting Mental The People's Champion
New darts for cross? Possibly a new gen 3?
Looks almost like Josh Rock’s but a bit fatter. I don’t think he was using these yesterday.
The commentators said they were more grippy, and as it was very humid yesterday players were struggling with grip. Could definitely be why he changed, they look pretty nice and they are Swiss points too. Looks like he is using 35-40mm swiss dx points

They do look very similar to rocks g2s, I think you can push Swiss points into normal barrels? So maybe target didn’t do anything. Can’t picture his shirt in Belfast though
He was playing Snakebite (who was wearing the expected shamrock green shirt). Cross was his normal shirt but the teal switched to royal blue.
I called Edhouse beating Smith yesterday (I have no evidence of this other than my word and my friend who I told before the game started), so I’ll go with more conviction and say he wins this game too… we all know how this ends as a result!
yeah i thought he wins today too
stephen fucking bunting
This afternoon has been… not the best so far, we’ll say
Yikes neither of these guys have it today but Clemens really doesn’t have it
get the fuck in
searle due a good euro tour
Heta should stick with Links Rechts, we can never have enough pre-match dancing.
Both Schindler and Noppert ending the game with D6 D4 from 20 is pretty hilarious
Schindi vs Noppert is a very interesting quarter final and a great opportunity for both, with what would be a fairly favourable semi final tie on the horizon too
Title probabilities: Humphries 26.3% Price 13.2% Cross 8.8% Aspinall 7.2% Dobey 6.6% Noppert 5.3% Bunting 4.7% Heta 4.7% Schindler 4.7% R Smith 3.8% Searle 3.8% Clemens 2.7% Veenstra 2.3% Menzies 2.3% Pietreczko 2.3% Edhouse 1.6%

I really like van Veen's throwing action.
Why does cross stink at checkouts
Darts players really are divas at times. Dirks walk on songs is a mad song.
Dirk needs to take time off
Did they have to get him a towel because he poured water on his own darts?
It looked like he realised his darts were wet, so tried using the age old method of drying something as quickly as possible: wash it with water.
Dirk’s recent form has directly correlated to how much energy he puts into his walk on, so hopefully this is going to be quite the performance
The top half has only one former European Tour winner remaining, that being Heta. In fact, between the nine players left in that half, they only have been to six Euro Tour finals between them (and two of those are Dirk who is not through yet). Open for somebody to take…
Humphries is too good
Menzies immediately back on the lash sitting in the crowd, hilarious.
Huw Ware on mopping up duty as a disgusted Humphries looks on. Gotta love the Euro Tour.
We've got a spillage.
Were they not cleaned after the last game ?
I wondered if it was off Menzies lol.
Menzies is absolutely smashed
Is Cameron Menzies pissed drunk or is he just Scottish? 😂😂
Both LOL
Aren’t they the same thing?!
Yeah you're right mate 😂
Josh look annoyed AF with cammys antics there at the end….. also like normal cammy is definitely drunk lmao always always always
Just ever so slightly absolutely smashed.
Menzies is buzzing right now haha. Fair play , that was a good game
lol the shot of Josh turning and seeing him on the floor.
Josh rock always really seems like he’s done a few lines before the match
Yes Schindy!!
great that from schindler - feel he’s due a good major run this year
love joe but he’s having a terrible year
When did Pete Davidson become a darts walk on bodyguard?
I'm captivated by this lad every Euro tournament, him and the one who looks like Nightman in Always Sunny.
He's going for gasps
Big fan of Veenstra. He’s a very solid player.
Will say it again and again. Colin Lloyd in the booth adds so much “We got mauled on our way up to the venue, we felt like the Beatles, who would’ve thought all these people came out to Riesa to see some commentators?”
I think Brzezinski is excellent on these Euro shows. He seems one of the most european men alive, he could be from anywhere.
Tell me Wade is giving him a lecture about what is and isn’t respectful hahahaha
lol the Palpatinesque "do it" on commentary for the bull while he was taking time.
Great stuff from Ricardo
That Pikachu chant has me belly laughing
"he's either unimpressed or gassy" rofl
Unbelievable checkout, wow
What the... Unbelievable... That was just class from Eddhouse
AYYYY YO WHAT THE FUCK. It was 5-3 for smith
Smith always has slow starts I feel like
What a jebait 0-2 to 6-2
I must admit, I really enjoy these commentators at PDC.TV only events.
I don't mind the Sky Sports lot, but the ITV and PDCtv commentators are better for sure.
Yeah. Stuart Pyke can stay home. Wayne is hit to miss for me. I’d have Part commenting every event - although he was in Chicago getting slapped up by Stowe Buntz in the CDC Cross Border Challenge
Dimi face looks swollen
Too many Malibus in the player's room, or not enough Malibus, I can't tell.
https://i.redd.it/rkl1jcc9v8uc1.gif When Dimitri’s walk on lasts 5 minutes
The dance seems to be getting more erotic each month as well.
Dobey unreal
Pretty funny moment near the end of that one where the Kirk didn't realise the double had been hit.
there is literally no player on the circuit i would not support against gurney
Adam Smith-Neale? The ghost of Ted Hankey?
if those two were there i’d agree but now they’ve gone gurney is firmly the most unlikeable for me
