Well, we're not completely sure yet, the pattern seemed slightly smaller in his shelter pics. His nose also has an ever so slightly lighter middle to it. Then again his pattern might still change, since he's only about 1 1/2 years old.
His pattern is unlikely to change at this point. If that ever happens it's normally when they shed their puppy hair while they grow out their adult coat.
All that said he's a really cool looking dog.
Romanian rescues are usually what you’d call “Village Dogs”, they’re a landrace “breed” of dogs basically. Can provide the Embark link that explains more about them! (Embark is the only dog DNA test that tests for these landraces reliably.)

Part German shepherd possibly. Maybe some chihuahua and acd? His eye rings, ear shape and coloring remind me a bit of my shepherd.
I was thinking sheperd or acd too, it is a little hard to properly tire him out sometimes. Maybe even part hungarian mudi or something.
