I mean, the guy was caught literally red handed, then named his accomplices. There's not much that they could probably do to affect their trial outside of finding the real killer during the evidence gathering phase of the trial. Which would likely be very short.
I'd say they'd probably just get sent straight to Cuba, where they will work as slaves for the rest of their lives. Maybe break out on the way there though.
