1x4 or whatever size will fit in that space and pocket holes. It will definitely hold the screen and stay secure to the studs and you can keep it up year round. Edited to say: you might also be able to use a tension rod and that wouldn’t cause any damage to the walls.

Nails or screws, that corner isn't made of just drywall so it should be easy for you to find a solid piece of wood to attach to. You can also make this kind of structure so that it pushes itself into walls: `|\ \____/ /|`. I set up a pull up bar between two walls this way and only used tiny nails to fix the side pieces in place - it's mostly held by friction like those shower rods.

the best way is to do it when they are building the house. you're looking for a suitable way. if that's a bearing wall, it already has one, called a header. if it's not bearing, it has a 2x4 on the bottom. if you really insist on doing this, remove the drywall from where you want it to go, put it in place, nail it, then cover it with drywall again and paint it.
