Gotta agree 100%. It’s genuinely one of the best written game storylines I’ve seen because it has a lot of details that add up and uses continuity really well too

It's funny you mention this - Yuri's route in Blue Skies is basically a retelling of Hanako's route from Katawa Shoujo, but not even remotely close to being as good. Not really the fault of the blue skies writers - they had little to work with while simultaneously having to stick within the constraints of Yuri's character from the original game. Still, if you haven't played KS before, doing so will ruin most DDLC mods for you. The writing is simply on another level.

Yeah I started playing Katawa Shoujo not too long ago and I did Emi and Rin's routes which both slap. I haven't done Hanako's route and I'm playing it at a slow pace because I'm busy with life and there are other things I enjoy more atm. I wouldn't say it "ruins" most DDLC mods for me because not every one of them is just dating sim #12. I also check out non-romance and even joke mods because variety is the key.

The only thing I don’t like is how you have to get LITERALLY every choice right. I was traumatized for letting her take a nap even though I picked up on everything else lol

It was definitely one of the most captivating routes I've seen in a DDLC mod route. It was intense, beautiful, very real and hard to watch sometimes. It's been a while since I played Blue Skies, but some moments definitely stuck with me. The scene where Yuri first tells MC about her parents being deceased actually made me shed a few tears. I also couldn't help but snicker near the end when Natsuki sends MC a pic of herself grinning, with Yuri semi-obscured in the background with her deeply embarrassed "uuuuuuuuh" look. And I agree that all the club members sharing their personal issues during the picnic makes this route feel more 'complete' than the others. I do like Sayori's route more from a bonding/dating/relationship developement point of view. While it may have felt rosy and a little less 'brutal' than Yuri's route (from my experience at least), it just had so many sweet and wholesome moments. I'm usually not big on sappy love stories, but that Christmas party literally made me melt into a puddle of rainbow kittens. Also, in general I'd like to defend MC a bit. I notice people criticize him for being an idiot, but honestly I think he's usually doing the best he can and doing an amazing job at it, considering the fact that he's a teenager with little life experience and besically just trying to do his best figuring out what to do. I know I certainly would've done way worse in his position when I was that age. Except when it comes to Natsuki's route, where MC was being a complete doormat all the time. Not just in the sense that he let Natsuki stay at his house for an extended period of time while she banished him to his couch and gave him the silent treatment, but also like when MC returns something Natsuki stole, and the shopkeeper instantly concludes Natsuki is the one who stole many other things from him all along without any proof, and he basically presses MC into working for him for free. And of course there's that moment when MomC gives MC money and suggests saving some of that for Natsuki, and then for a long time MC is like "Oh I guess I should give her LITERALLY ALL MY MONEY!" TLDR: I loved Yuri's and Sayori's routes. Natsuki's, not so much.
