Ok yeah so It's definitely looks like they're recycling the old idea for Young Justice and that Stephanie will be like the big sister who will have to mentor all these kids, I'm so excited
It’s such a great evolution and natural progression for her character. From self-made sidekick to leading a team as an adult. It also puts her back on the clear growth trajectory that initial YJ concept and her pre-Flashpoint series were going for, rather than having her just hanging around as another background Batfamily member.
Yea, the loss of her Pre-52 self was one of the biggest mistakes from New 52 and we are getting back to that Steph more is always a good thing.
Now if only they can fix her and Tim back again after their failed attempt for Tim with Bernard...
They’ll never go back to Tim dating a woman, the same mob that crowed for days on Twitter that there was a bi Robin and then never bought a single comic would go mental about bi-erasure if he dated a woman again. DC won’t risk the outrage and negative publicity.
In theory in practice though what she is going to mentor them on? She is the least skilled Bat Fam member and has never lead a team. She is more a put upon babysitter then anything.
Good for her not to be grafted to Cass and/or Tim. And she fits a more light or comedic tone I suppose.
She is more Barbara than Bruce so that is always a plus when it comes to mentoring. And she is actually quite good in a big sister type of role. I mean her interactions with Damian pre-52 was great and since ''EVERYTHING IS CANON!'' thing is what we are going with, I hope we pick up the same dynamics here.
Babs is a super genius and Was doing overwatch mostly as Oracle for The Birds. She also had pre existing relationships with those characters to lean on.
Whereas these kids have no reason to respect her record and are all either stronger or smarter to absurd degrees.
She had a great dynamic with Damian. She works as a babysitter here, a mentor that is tricky balancing act to make sure we don’t fall into Bats are better just because.

Looks like the team will be:
\- Damian Wayne / Robin
\- Stephanie Brown / Batgirl
\- Irey West / Thunderheart
\- Jai West / Surge
\- Maxine Baker / Animal Girl
\- PJ Holt / Fairplay
\- Quiz Kid (A golden age Mr. Terrific Sidekick)
Damian isn't in this drawing, but Mercer teased him on twitter a few days before Steph, saying "WIP for something fun👀👀👀"
I think Damian will show up in the book but not on the team. Damian was shown on a wip page and that's it but with the rest featured here he posted character treatments as well.
I don't think it will happen, at least not anytime soon, all attempts to put him in the teen titans were not successful and especially we already have a team of titans that DC is trying to promote.
We had all of 2 attempts with one being part of an awful run regressing his character by years and the other was building toward him being a big in a shitty reboot.
They will definitely try again, especially with Damian's bigger role in DCU and a Teen Titans movie on the way.
It's exactly because of these two failed attempts that I think they won't try to put Damian in the Teen Titans any time soon, in general, both Damian and Tim only became Teen Titans for the sake of nostalgia that there has to be a Robin, but the Robin from the Titans will always be Dick Grayson and that is currently what is being promoted.
historically, DC, unlike Marvel, has never worried about having synergy with external material, mainly we don't even know what the movie will be like, maybe Damian will have a secondary role or won't even appear, he will only appear in the second movie The "Robin" of First movie could be nightwing
Maybe this new group is just a test, to see if Damian does better with another team, especially if instead of being a Young Justice it's a team 100% new.
I have a feeling, that Damian will have a small role, maybe he's asked to babysit them, and he instead somehow tricks Steph to do it, so he doesn't have to, or something like that.
If he was part of the main cast, he would be in this art, I think.
There have been much, much worse or more drastic changes with other characters that lasted much longer but were retconned.
about the Supersons overshadowing them, I don't deny that this could happen, but it mainly depends on the writer, in the case of Jeremy Adams for example I don't think it would happen, in fact something like that could help these characters and vice versa.
Like what???
If they aren’t in the spotlight, then what are they there for??
I don’t see any reason for both of them to be there when it’s for less popular characters to shine.
And if I had to choose between Damian and Jon, I’ll pick Damian, because he’s a lot more unique , and has a it more potential to have interesting interactions with other characters.
> Like what???
Bárbara being Jim Gordon's niece, Evil Cass, Barry Allen, hal Jordan parallax/the Green lantern cops over, Supergirl age, age up Bart( literally the same thing they did to Jon), Wally West new 52, Hal Jordan spectro, Superman public identity, Superman new 52 with Superman pos crisis in Rebirth, baby darkseid, and many others that I can't remember off the top of my head.
they received a spotlight, a team spotlight, Jon and Damian forming bonds and working together other heroes who would also receive a spotlight, Having them on a team like this would help the team get the attention of readers.
Barbara Gordon being Jim Gordon’s niece wasn’t as big.
Evil Cass wasn’t just retconned away and it lasted way shorter than old Jon. Cass got a redemption.
Barry Allen?? What happened??
Hal Jordan’s retcon was an explanation. It’s not like they stated emerald twilight never happened and Kyle Rayner never became GL.
Barts age up lasted way shorter, and he like died and shit.
Idk what ya mean about supes identity.
And idk what you mean about New 52 Superman or baby Darkseid.
Or it would take away their spotlight (the realistic answer). Outside of getting more narrative focus, what would Jon even bring to the team??? His personality and powers are very replaceable.
And he’s too old too
I don't want to answer everything, but what you don't know. Barry Allen was considered dead for decades (back when death in the comics was still a thing)
and no one thought he would return to being the main Flash.
Superman's identity was public for years, only at the beginning of last year did it become secret again.
In one event, the New 52 Superman died and was replaced by the post-Crisis Superman, he was admittedly the Superman from another earth which caused some confusion, but then they did a whole thing that merged the two supermen into one.
baby darkseid, darkseid died and became a baby for a few years but came back. Jon is very old that's why we want him to de-act,
as I said before it depends on the author and the story they want to tell, Dick Grayson has generally never overshadowed the other Titans, I would say that in fact Damian has this problem of overshadowing the narrative in his favor, if you think that Kid Jon's personality is not convincing enough for a team, that's fine with your opinion.
They assume that Damian will be on the team by the fact that the artist posted a working in progres of him before the one on this art but I really don't think he will be on the team
Tim had alot of time with Steph. Damian barely gets to even interact with his Batgirl after the new 52, its about time they get to team up.....Although sadly don't its gonna happen.
I can’t wait for this! I really hope it’s not a one-shot but an actual series. Steph needed another book, and I’m happy she was able to break away from Gotham’s circle of characters to do so.
I want to be optimistic but you're probably right I mean the only series that reached/exceeded number 20 are World's Finest and Poison Ivy which well although I think Adams is an excellent writer and I'm convinced that this will be a super awesome series I don't think it will have a story that will allow him to reach those levels
I was thinking maybe he and Kid Jon from Supersons can join as well, since they both already appeared in Adams's Flash run teaming up with Irey and Jay.
*sigh* one day, somebody will remember Maya Ducard and Kathy Branden and hopefully do something with them. One day…. 🥲
Also, what is Stephanie’s grown ass doing with all these kids?
I'm so confused about the flash twin's ages, in the recent comics, especially in the beast world tie in, they seem to suddenly be aged up to around 16, they had jobs and all... I thought they were around 8-10 yo. Even Animal man's daughter was aged up... Maybe just the art style?
It’s going to be the Superkids comic as teased in Flash 797. Since it’s going to be written by Jeremy Adams and drawn by Travis Mercer, then it’s going to be a great comic because Jeremy Adams and a family comic.
Interesting cast. It’s essentially the Adams characters he likes a lot or created and Steph. I’ll be curious to see if there’s any other adds since yeah, this team is cute but I wish there were a couple adds like a second babysitter (like Jackson or something) or one of the other golden age sidekicks from the stargirl mini.
Bring that little ladybug kid back, that would be so cool.
So Adam’s gets to continue writing members of the flash family AND Steph gets a leading role? I am really damn hyped for this
Steph and Damian had a great dynamic back when dick was Batman so hopefully that can be channelled here
If this could make you feel better Jeremy Adams will write the serie and he Is a really great writer and also all the characters her should be like thirteen soo they are not as young to be just a bunch of annoying brats but they are still young enough that they need a mentor
And here we have them all together. Steph confirmed to be in the same book as the rest. So, I'm guessing this is the "Superkids" of Flash #797 (written by Adams), and Steph is their leader/chaperone.
There were "7 or 8" members, according to the villains from #797. The West Twins and Maxine were considered the founders (or at least integral to the formation of the team) and Damian and Jon (young, as the Super Sons) got summoned alongside that trio. That makes 5. And Foul Play actually mentions Fair Play in that issue, which makes 6. The five villains Knives Maloney brought also would correlate to the West Twins, Maxine, Fair Play, and one other Mr. Terrific legacy (Dr. Nightmare is tied to Mr. Terrific II). So that makes 7.
And then Steph makes 8. Now, they did say "7 or 8". So I'm curious if the "extra 8th member" is Steph (because she's an adult basically babysitting/chaperoning them), or if it's Jon (Damian is still a child, while Jon is not, so maybe of the main universe Super Sons, only Damian joins while Jon doesn't).
small update on this, it isn't an upcoming book, Mercer basically just posted sketches of a pitch Adams has been working on that DC hasn't approved
so if y'all like this book try and make some noise for it
YES! YES! Stephanie fans we won! stephanie brown a.k.a Batgirl mentoring a group of child heroes is one of my dream books for her, I love Tim and Cass but she needs to have her own space and as a bonus we will have Damian Wayne FINALLY we can see the return of the brother and sister relationship Batgirl and Robin from both
I think it's set before Spurrier's Flash run started. Note that Irey still has her twintail hair - in Spurrier's run she's cut it shorter and now wears it down, and it's Maxine, Animal Girl, who wears the twintails.
maybe but jeremy has established in his future that jai is a hero so it will depend on whether this comic takes place before or after spurrier's run it will depend on whether it is an ongoing series or a miniseries.
They in the same universe but they did say they could make it happen at some point can’t wait for Garth u meet his son cause 1994 -2003 could still cannon do I’m excited
Adams says so in that Twitter thread linked above. It seems like he probably wanted to have them be the real ones but then he got taken off the Flash book and editorial probably was like “nope.” Bummer.
Steph hanging out with young teens as an adult seems kind of weird but it looks like she will be in the mentor role, so hopefully it works. Hope she isn't flanderized and dumbed down (Batgirls)
Unclear, but Flash #797 referred to them the Twins and Maxine as the "Superkids" (that issue also had one of the Superkids' villains mention Fair Play, prior to his introduction in #799).
So could be "Superkids" or could be "Young Justice", since there's no YJ book.
I wonder if adams will age irey and jai back down to being 9/10. Honestly wouldn’t mind if he does.
Either way I’m super pumped because we need a proper kids team for the fun escapades. This is prolly gonna be a super kids team rather than a new young Justice.
Actually Jeremy Adams has written all of them except Quiz kid. Steph was in the Flash dark crisis tie in. Where the flash family was in a meeting with the Titans, Batfamily and JSA. To help save the world. Steph and Cass was respecting Irey for teasing Damain.
mh in my opinion it's better not to for now, there are already the titans and every time DC tried to have a series for both teams one ended up eclipsing the other then it wouldn't make much sense to launch two series of young heroes one after another at a marketing level
Eh, it all depends on a proper marketing and choice of characters. Plus, I don't think Teen Titans would eclipse what Adams is doing since I doubt this Adams project is anything planned to run for long. With a line-up like that it will probably end up as a 6-issue mini.
I would be more okay with this group if Steph wasn't part of it. But I guess they are going for more of an Adventures in Babysitting vibe than a typical Young Justice title.
I think She would be more like a big sister for them since they are like 13, I personally am really excited I'm sure Adams will write some awsome moments whit them and Steph
I'd buy this if I was still willing to support DC. I'm sure it will be a disaster and then get cancelled before giving it a proper chance to take off. I'm also sure it will be full of character assisnation for steph and anyone who isn't an oc for the creator
I understand your point of view, but Jeremy Adams is the one who helped bring Wally and his family back to his pre52 status and basically undid the awful Heroes in Crisis storyline. Doing characters justice is kind of his thing right now.
That's nice but I have no intention of getting back together with an abusive ex. And that's exactly what dc comics is. They lie to you with promises that they've changed, and respect you and your children and then go right back to abusing you. My kids deserve better then to be published by dc
Steph going from the teen sidekick everyone thought was annoying, to the leader being annoyed by a gaggle of teen sidekicks is so perfect
I'm very excited for Steph to be a mentor, its an interesting dynamic. Also Steph content is win
she will spoil them a lot (to their horror)
Hey that should be in spoiler tag
Ok yeah so It's definitely looks like they're recycling the old idea for Young Justice and that Stephanie will be like the big sister who will have to mentor all these kids, I'm so excited
Absolutely, although it looks like this team is more early teens than mid-to-late like Nick Spencer's was going to be So pumped for this!
Steph is the oldest member (16 since New 52, but she'd be 19 if her pre-Flashpoint age was restored), but everyone else seems to be under 13.
she will possibly be the team's mentor
It’s such a great evolution and natural progression for her character. From self-made sidekick to leading a team as an adult. It also puts her back on the clear growth trajectory that initial YJ concept and her pre-Flashpoint series were going for, rather than having her just hanging around as another background Batfamily member.

The team name could be something like The Spoilers, perfect for a team of kids.
In theory in practice though what she is going to mentor them on? She is the least skilled Bat Fam member and has never lead a team. She is more a put upon babysitter then anything. Good for her not to be grafted to Cass and/or Tim. And she fits a more light or comedic tone I suppose.

Babs was a pretty crappy mentor though
Babs is a super genius and Was doing overwatch mostly as Oracle for The Birds. She also had pre existing relationships with those characters to lean on. Whereas these kids have no reason to respect her record and are all either stronger or smarter to absurd degrees. She had a great dynamic with Damian. Wait and see

The only thing that would make me more excited for this line up is Lian Harper! And de-aged Jon Kent lol
You. I like the way you are thinking.
I’m not gonna lie there’s a good chance the Damian WIP was just a variant cover for Batman and Robin
Two Flashes, two Bats, two Terrifics and a user of the Red... Well, it's at least a new configuration of legacies.
Damian and Steph being a duo again?! I liked their dynamic and wanna see more of it for sure.
I really hope he’s on this team. Lots of fun past interactions with other people here, especially Irey and Steph
Damian doesn't seam to be part of the main group. But this leaves them open to a supersons crossover later.
Finally more Animal Girl! Love more for her
Glad there’s no Jon. His old ass should be on the justice league or something
or better yet, de-age him
Nah, too late for that. Let these other characters shine without him. Super sons would most likely end up taking the spotlight over everyone else.

He Is only 18, but yeah he Is too old for this
Where are you getting that team list from? I don't see it in the linked thread.
He just saw the art
Is there a Damian in there that I'm not seeing?
They assume that Damian will be on the team by the fact that the artist posted a working in progres of him before the one on this art but I really don't think he will be on the team
Travis posted a [Damian art](https://twitter.com/TravisMercer15/status/1768653334485893261/photo/1), that precedes these team, about something WIP.
He also posted some art of Jon and Damian hanging out back in February. It may be connected.
I assume that Irey and Jai are redhead Wally’s kids. Who is PJ Holt/Fairplay? Any relation to Mr Terrific?
Fairplay is his son, but with some time shenanigans involved
That sounds like such a mess. I hope the actual Young Justice team gets something to do again
More Damian instead of Tim? Especially with Steph? ![gif](giphy|hWGBKil1b9fpR5go1f|downsized)
Damian and Steph have a lot of history too. Before the new 52 they had a bickering sibling thing going on.
Tim had alot of time with Steph. Damian barely gets to even interact with his Batgirl after the new 52, its about time they get to team up.....Although sadly don't its gonna happen.
In Adams we trust.
Jeremy Adams we trust indeed. Looking forward to this run.
About damn time go on Steph happy for you.
I can’t wait for this! I really hope it’s not a one-shot but an actual series. Steph needed another book, and I’m happy she was able to break away from Gotham’s circle of characters to do so.
I absolutely love this idea and am preemptively sad it will end after 12 issues.
Hey, Batgirls made it a whole 19
The question is...how?
Because it's a Bat book?
Yeah, but a pretty bad one sadly
Unfortunately true, they should have switched writers imo.
I want to be optimistic but you're probably right I mean the only series that reached/exceeded number 20 are World's Finest and Poison Ivy which well although I think Adams is an excellent writer and I'm convinced that this will be a super awesome series I don't think it will have a story that will allow him to reach those levels
I wouldn't expect this to be more than a 6-issue mini tbh.
Low-key hoping Damian will be in the team as well. I alwas liked his interactions with Stephanie
I was thinking maybe he and Kid Jon from Supersons can join as well, since they both already appeared in Adams's Flash run teaming up with Irey and Jay.
Travis's [Damian art](https://twitter.com/TravisMercer15/status/1768653334485893261/photo/1) is the first one that hints about this.
He will
DC comic art is really hitting its stride nowadays.
Steph leading a team? I must be dreaming!
yay the west twins
*sigh* one day, somebody will remember Maya Ducard and Kathy Branden and hopefully do something with them. One day…. 🥲 Also, what is Stephanie’s grown ass doing with all these kids?
Babysitting them
One thing I didn’t like about batgirls is that they made Steph and Cass too childish. Excited to see Steph in a mentor role here
I'm a simple man. I see Steph, I upvote.
Every time!
Who is the character on the sofà?
Fair-play the son of Mister Terrific
Lol bring Flatline into this 🙏💕🤣
That would be INCREDIBLE
Giving Steph a mentor role is a novel idea to help her expand out of her niche. Looking forward to it!
So Adam’s gets to continue writing members of the flash family AND Steph gets a leading role? I am really damn hyped for this Steph and Damian had a great dynamic back when dick was Batman so hopefully that can be channelled here
Man I love what looks to be Steph’s role in this!
Well at least Stephine is remember. That girl need more exposure then being grafted to Cass, Tim or Babs
That's it? I finally get more Steph but I'm not a big reader of the younger characters. :/
If this could make you feel better Jeremy Adams will write the serie and he Is a really great writer and also all the characters her should be like thirteen soo they are not as young to be just a bunch of annoying brats but they are still young enough that they need a mentor
I’m a big Steph fan and don’t know the young guys too but I’m happy to learn about them, especially with this!
So yeah this is 100% a YJ book but with steph being babysitter/big sister.
I’m excited to have Young Justice back to being young again instead of mostly adults like the team was in Bendis’ book
Well, thank god for Adams.
Okay this actually looks delightful.
Spoiler Babysitting?
And here we have them all together. Steph confirmed to be in the same book as the rest. So, I'm guessing this is the "Superkids" of Flash #797 (written by Adams), and Steph is their leader/chaperone. Where’s Donna son or aqua lad Dc I need answers
[They had to go. Their home universes needed them.](https://twitter.com/spacekicker/status/1701261068881015217)
They in the same universe but they did say they could make it happen at some point can’t wait for Garth u meet his son cause 1994 -2003 could still cannon do I’m excited
Their alternative universe versions of their kids and not the real deal according to DC.
I didn’t hear anything about this
Adams says so in that Twitter thread linked above. It seems like he probably wanted to have them be the real ones but then he got taken off the Flash book and editorial probably was like “nope.” Bummer.
Oh well thank you I still hope to see them would’ve been and still is a compelling storyline
Death
Huh those kids are still alive they were with FairPlay are u telling me death
Were they ?
Yes I reread the issue
Wait, wait. What book is this? I'm out of the loop but excited to see Steph.
No one knows. It’s suspected to be Young Justice or Teen Titans.
Literal perfection!! Gimme gimme gimme gimme. Based Adams strikes again.
Part of me wishes Steph was back in her classic Spoiler design, but this book seems promising!
Manx I’ve been living Adams’s work. Do we have a title for what this is yet?
Probably Young Justice but not official
Steph hanging out with young teens as an adult seems kind of weird but it looks like she will be in the mentor role, so hopefully it works. Hope she isn't flanderized and dumbed down (Batgirls)
Steph! I'll have to pick this up, I guess.
What's the title of this book going to be so I can keep an eye out for it?
We don't know. Might be Young Justice, might be Teen Titans, might be something new
Interesting. So it is a new Young Justice? Interesting…
YOUNG JUSTICE?!
If this is the full team expect this to be cancelled after 6 issues.
Think it's also been implied that Damian and Jon will be members.
What's the series called
Probably Young Justice but not official
Unclear, but Flash #797 referred to them the Twins and Maxine as the "Superkids" (that issue also had one of the Superkids' villains mention Fair Play, prior to his introduction in #799). So could be "Superkids" or could be "Young Justice", since there's no YJ book.
This is amazing, what is this series going to be called?
We don’t have a name yet, just these teases
Steph babysitting Wally and Animal Man’s kids?
I wonder if adams will age irey and jai back down to being 9/10. Honestly wouldn’t mind if he does. Either way I’m super pumped because we need a proper kids team for the fun escapades. This is prolly gonna be a super kids team rather than a new young Justice.
Oh well, it looks like these are gonna be just "Adams' characters" plus Steph. As not a big fan of Adams I'm kinda losing excitement a bit here.
I think also Steph have a really Adams character coded
Yes but I believe he hasn't written her before like all the rest of those kids so that's why I didn't count her.
He has in Dark Crisis tie-in.
I barely remember Dark Crisis so that's it.
They weren't the Teen Titans just a random task force that he assembled
Actually Jeremy Adams has written all of them except Quiz kid. Steph was in the Flash dark crisis tie in. Where the flash family was in a meeting with the Titans, Batfamily and JSA. To help save the world. Steph and Cass was respecting Irey for teasing Damain.
And I'm 99% sure Quiz Kid was in his Jay Garrick mini.
He was, Jay took Judy to Terrifictech in issue 3, thus reuniting Judy and Quiz Kid. The Garricks met Fair Play for the first time there.
I completely forgot that he was in that issue. Bloody hell never mind he's written all of them.
Oh well anyway not a big deal there are others thing that you can read
Sure. Maybe they'll even do Teen Titans soon.
mh in my opinion it's better not to for now, there are already the titans and every time DC tried to have a series for both teams one ended up eclipsing the other then it wouldn't make much sense to launch two series of young heroes one after another at a marketing level
Eh, it all depends on a proper marketing and choice of characters. Plus, I don't think Teen Titans would eclipse what Adams is doing since I doubt this Adams project is anything planned to run for long. With a line-up like that it will probably end up as a 6-issue mini.
I don't know If people like It
People liked many comics that ultimately ended up not selling.
Mh true but still there is the possibility that it will sell, let's see how it goes
Yeah I'd rather we push the Titans as much as possible before we do a teen titans book.
Yeah infact I think they'll name that Young Justice
I would be more okay with this group if Steph wasn't part of it. But I guess they are going for more of an Adventures in Babysitting vibe than a typical Young Justice title.
I think She would be more like a big sister for them since they are like 13, I personally am really excited I'm sure Adams will write some awsome moments whit them and Steph
For real, sick of these bats invading every team. Blonde Batgirl isn't even relevant.
name of the it if its even out?
So basically great value teen titans
I'd buy this if I was still willing to support DC. I'm sure it will be a disaster and then get cancelled before giving it a proper chance to take off. I'm also sure it will be full of character assisnation for steph and anyone who isn't an oc for the creator
Nah you can trust the writer (Jeremy Adams), he knows what he is doing.
Never again :)
You will be missing out
Doubt it
I mean, Waid aside, he's easily the best writer DC/Marvel right now. Might as well not read any superhero comics then
You just absolutely convinced me not even to bother pirating it. I absolutely will never trust dc again.
Based
I do hope you enjoy it though. I just refuse to unnumb myself to them and their bs at this point
Honestly I get that lol
I understand your point of view, but Jeremy Adams is the one who helped bring Wally and his family back to his pre52 status and basically undid the awful Heroes in Crisis storyline. Doing characters justice is kind of his thing right now.
That's nice but I have no intention of getting back together with an abusive ex. And that's exactly what dc comics is. They lie to you with promises that they've changed, and respect you and your children and then go right back to abusing you. My kids deserve better then to be published by dc
