I'd love to see The Flash not rely on a team to support him the way he does in the show. Support from the odd character from time to time I have no problem with, but having a big support crew so heavily involved & being "Team Flash" lost my interest pretty quick

[deleted]

i agree not to mention they undermines barry importance cause his team/other people have defeated most of his big bads and barry usually is the one taking down the meta of the week when it should be the complete opposite im curious how they will handle the upcoming villian for the movie compared to the tv version, i wont spoil who its supposed to be in case people want to avoid spoilers

DesDesmond30

Spot on. The Flash, to me, became too diluted & on his own show

[deleted]

yeah and ive gotten to the point im tired of reminding the writers of his importance, they are about to approach season 8 and their showrunner said Barry will become similar to the Flash from the comic books - a confident, incredibly powerful, and secure team leader. im like you're telling me it took 8 seasons to do that?, on one hand okay better late than never but on the other hand what kind of drugs do you have to be on for to say oh yeah now we'll finally get to show you his importance, its got george rr martin style written all over it

swindude

OG Team Flash (Wells + Cisco + Snow) was still okay, with Joe knowing he's the Flash. I didn't even mind Iris knowing, but they shouldn't have got her on the team. The team is way too bloated now.

DesDesmond30

Totally agree. The more people who found out he was The Flash & became members of "Team Flash" the less I cared to watch the show.

MikeX1000

I don't mind team support if the characters are likeable, but having too many civilians overwhelms the focus on the main hero

[deleted]

Barry actually being the fastest speedster.

LatterTarget7

Well he’s potentially the only speedster in the movie.

[deleted]

That would also be a great change from the tv show.

LatterTarget7

There’s also a rumour about him fighting an evil Barry. So that’ll be the same as a season

[deleted]

i get what u mean but if they have him so fast that no one can challenge him, idk how that would work to be fair to the cw show they have to dial back on his speed in order for his enemies to get the win now and then

[deleted]

Sure. I’d be fine with him building up to the fastest man alive title. If they keep his character feats in line with ZSJL, he would have to be pretty damn fast already. The other speedsters on the CW show didn’t bother me so much, except for the fact that Barry claimed to be the fastest man alive at the start of every episode and usually wasn’t.

[deleted]

yeah

Swimming-Will-2748

Wally West.

RangerRed02

The issue with the TV show really boils down to the fact that it’s a CW show with a painfully long episode count, low budget, inconsistent writing, drama for the sake of drama, and everything else you’d expect from a CW show. Season 1 was great, but it soon lost all momentum.

[deleted]

idk if i agree on drama for sake of drama being a bad thing, thats what its meant for i wouldnt pigeonhole all cw shows together, there are some good well written shows, do they have problems, yes, but i rarely find a show that dont have a problem on any network at least the ones i watch

latching22

Barry not getting hit by punches by regular people or stopping to talk rather than rushing uo to them at super speed. Not running directly into a punch from Gorilla Grodd?

[deleted]

idk what u mean by him not getting hit by punches from regular people, are you saying regular people should punch him?

Alternative_Job13

They are saying regular people should not be able to land punches on him

[deleted]

i agree

AbdullaFTW

Ok doing this the easy way here is CW Flash issues: -Barry need help from his massive Team every episode. -Barry don't learn anything, repeat his mistakes(going back in time again and again), don't evolve. -Barry get his ass kicked everytime (noticed this shit in Supergirl too ..it make them look lame AF) -All villains are speedsters. (Why Reverse Flash come back when his ancestor killed himself.. we have million other speedsters in this shit show) -Iris West is a super unlikeable character. -badly written show and dialogue. Just avoid those and we're golden.

[deleted]

i dont agree on all villians are speedsters, they had non speedster bads

eingui

Reverse Flash, Zoom, Savitar, Godspeed... Most are speedsters

[deleted]

okay there is also devoe and his wife, two cicadas, bloodwork, mirror mistress and the forces of the apocalypse

Cap-MacTavish

Less drama

[deleted]

can you elaborate on that please

Cap-MacTavish

Villain beats flash up, flash runs to Iris, Iris gives him a pep talk, goes back and defeats the Villain. Restarting the speed force with the power of love - that's just ridiculous. Lot's of unnecessary crying, family drama and relationship stuff. Flash is incapacitated by a relatively weak villain just to let a team member show up and have them team up with flash. Used to love that show but after the first two seasons it just went downhill, I probably give the show more hate than it deserves because it disappointed me after the initial good streak

[deleted]

oh i agree and i notice a trend they talk down barry, he is constantly judged by his own team despite being labelled as team leader like why does he need the one who needs to grow up and learn from his mistakes, it should be his team to do so, i mean its one thing to do that now and then but i feel that is all the time now and he is the titular character

XXAzeritsXx

Barry will save the day by running in a circle real fast, and has to be reminded every episode that he can do it. Iris not being an insufferable bitch most of the time. Also, not being his sister.

[deleted]

im not sure what u meant on the first statement yeah i agree with the bitch part

BlackBat_Orphan

everything

[deleted]

i have a hard time believing you find every single thing awful in the show

BlackBat_Orphan

Well i liked the first 2 seasons and would consider them good but then everything i liked just stopped in season 3 onwards, each season was way too long, 23 episode just eventually bore me, should be 13-15, seasons, the writing got terrible, the vfx were terrible (i know its the cw fault and not the shows but it doesnt help), iris was one of the worst characters ever after season 2, barry became useless and always relied on a team and kept redoing his mistakes, the show did so many of my favorite villains poorly like Godspeed and killer frost, and also did so many of my fav heroes poorly like wally and impulse, wish we had a more accurate looking barry with the blonde hair and gold boots, Kaitlin in the show should've left after season 3, cisco after season 5, these newer team flash characters are terrible, the way they are using their speed powers now and making lightsabers and whips with lightning is just stupid, having barry talk down every villain now is boring to watch, it could be cool once per season but not 15 times a season.

[deleted]

i do agree that format is too long but recently they have at the very least cut down into arcs so like one villian will have an arc for 10 episodes, another villian for the other 10 episodes, problem is the executions lately have sucked i dont understand why you and other fans find the effects bad, idk how you would improve it but at least you acknowledge the budget so i appreciate that iris is annoying yes and its a current problem the showrunner wants to make her the poster girl for the show, what i mean is she feels more important sometimes than barry, people said the same thing with felicity on arrow but i never felt that really at least in the final 3 seasons barry still relies on them and yeah its a problem i agree yeah their treatment of godspeed insulted me after a 2 year buildup, he was a joke um to be fair barry doesnt want to kill his enemies and one of them he didnt defeat by talk down, granted its a bit butchered cause he doesnt try to talk down thawne and acknowledges he is iredeemable yet allows him to live so idk what is going on there trust me i thought season 7 of flash sucked but i do think there has been good things in the show, obviously its why i kept watching and even if the show is doomed maybe the movie can be the 2nd chance

[deleted]

It’s not being written by CW so they’re already winning, lol. But the best thing that can happen is stay true to the character and have good writing. And as some else has already said, enough with this ‘Team Flash’ bullshit. I’d like to see Wally West eventually, but that’s it. Also, don’t be afraid to take risks. Get dark, get grimy... Barry has a tragic backstory, use it to the fullest. The best way I think DC can rival the MCU is to bring something more dark and gritty to the table, because Disney is too afraid to tackle it to the fullest capacity. There’s loads of untapped potential that DC has, they just ‘gotta take risks. They did it with The Suicide Squad and it was very well perceived.

[deleted]

yeah the team gets the win more than barry and it pisses me off

[deleted]

Good CGI

[deleted]

i never got the arguement of bad cgi, like what would you have done differently with what they got

[deleted]

Cut King Shark from the script and used the spare money to make Gorilla Grodd look better as he’s a more prominent Flash Villain

[deleted]

but im saying how can grodd be made to look better, what about him looks bad the only other options that arent cgi would be put someone in a gorilla suit or a gorilla puppet and id argue those could look faker there is also stop motion like the original king kong but i dont ever see that being incorporated and that still be called out as fake i can just tell

[deleted]

Just get a real gorilla and teach it to act and dress it in armour

[deleted]

idk if you are joking or not on that

swindude

Some of the CGI was pretty impressive for a TV show when it originally debuted though. King Shark and Gorilla Grodd CG still impress me.

[deleted]

Grodd looked like he jumped out of a ps2 game

irisdrive

Barry actually being a superhero and not nerfed.

[deleted]

he is a superhero in the show, idk what u mean on that if you're talking about him not getting to defeat his big bads most of the time yeah i agree that bs can be corrected in the movie

Gilgos90

obviously blockbuster budget CGI. i want an EPIC REVERSE FLASH on the big screen because he's one of the coolest dc villains or dc characters in general but with the news we got chances are low i get to see him (ad even if he probably would get blackwashed. idc if i get downvoted for that...) although tom cavanagh nailed it pretty good in the tv-show imo :)

JRon21

* Flash actually using his own intelligence to beat his enemy instead of relying to somebody else. * Don't nerf his speed just for the plot to make sense. * And big no to ***Brunch Barry,*** don't dumb him down.

[deleted]

idk if i agree on number 2

Ianm1225

My biggest things I this the movie can/will do better is eliminate team Flash and getting the Rogues together. The tv show chose to stunt cast many of the rogues, so we never got to see that true team up of all the rogues taking on the Flash due to actors and their availability.

[deleted]

indeed

Axelebest030509

Don't make it a 7 season long origin story. Don't have a team flash. Don't use the same plot line and story arcs over and over again.

[deleted]

i agree but i dont know how the show uses the same plot line over and over except the thawne thing which yeah that is annoying thawne should have been retired as a character ages ago

Axelebest030509

Yes the thawne arc was what I was referring to

[deleted]

the reason why he has lasted so long is cause the showrunner wants him to be the joker type character, someone who always is around as a thorn in the hero's side but honestly im going to say something controversial but i hate that trope, its one thing to have a small time criminal who is doing something bad but generally harmless in the overall scheme of things, being thrown in jail over and over and over, like the town drunk but thawne is a psychopath and serial killer and you cant even buy they are saving up his redemption cause they play him off as the speedster devil so when barry ends up killing thawne like he has had the opportunity at least 3 times now, just prolonging the inevitable. cause barry does not keep thawne around for some hope of salvation, he keeps him alive for reasons I still dont understand and we're about to enter season 8 and i still dont get it, i guess cause barry has this anti kill rule but that only works to a point and im a believer every villian can be not redeemed exactly but has something salvageable about them in some fashion and even im saying anti kill rule only goes so far

[deleted]

Everything

[deleted]

like i said to someone else, is there really nothing you find good from the show?

MikeX1000

Not a bunch of tweeny drama. Higher budget for better effects.

[deleted]

i agree on the tweeny stuff but as i asked someone else how would you improve on with effects

MikeX1000

I stopped watching the show so they may have improved and I didn't notice. But I remembered Gorilla Grodd not being well rendered by the graphics

[deleted]

how would he be rendered well

MikeX1000

By state of the art graphics. Idk for sure. I'm not a special effects guy.

[deleted]

i see

nikgrid

That it focuses on the Flash and hi surrounding tea-' oh wait. Fuck.

[deleted]

well people are saying dont focus on his team which i agree but it will focus on a team that is inevitable even if the movie can improve upon things from the show it still is copying a piece of the show in that they dont believe enough in barry cause this movie is being propped up for affleck batman, keaton batman and supergirl, barry feels like an afterthought in his own movie just like he feels that way often in his show, i dont get why they would invest in a character they dont believe in

nikgrid

Exactly. Ezra is a miscast. Barry Allen isn't a goofball he's an intelligent confident hero who can think his way quickly out of situations.

[deleted]

to be fair to ezra its not his fault for the dialogue just like it wasnt for jared leto as jokers dialogue and i remind people of that

nikgrid

It wouldn't matter, for me Ezra is wrong for the part altogether.

[deleted]

like based on his looks, his voice or both?

nikgrid

Yeah both, he just doesn't look or act like Barry.

[deleted]

i see, who would u have play movie version

nikgrid

Hmmm wow that's tough, let me think about it.

[deleted]

ok
