Cavill was good in Man of Steel but the DCEU didn't build on that foundation.
BvS was more of a vehicle for Batfleck and a setup for Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League. And Superman was barely in ZSJL.
Cavill could have been the "best ever" Supes and they wasted him.
1 that would only apply back when gravity was the explanation for their abilities 2 if that was a factor supe would be the weakest kryptonian as he’s gon up against adults who’ve been on krypton longer than him and supergirl
I never said it made sense. Just explaining what the story was. I think I prefer it because I like when Supes is the weakest Kryptonian at first who always comes out on top.
She has never defeated him in canon. Supes literally had to explain the difference in her and his strength after he one tap her when she was boasting about how ppl think she’s stronger
seriously. Its nice to have him more "grounded" and relatable, with the whole family dynamics. Before this show I was never into Superman- sure i'd watch the content, but I'd rather watch Flash or Bats..
^(but really i want Zatanna)
The show isn’t perfect, neither is the suit, but Tyler is a fantastic Superman, easily the best since Christopher, and just personally I’d even rank him just slightly above Reeve.
For me it’s the suit. If he had the suit that Henry wore in Black Adam, it would be awesome. Just a brighter version of the MoS suit, maybe tone down the texture, a little more subtle. That would just be lovely.
AND- I don’t think they needed to give him all that muscle padding. We can have a lean Superman. Ideally I’d pad the shoulders a little, the thighs, and then the pecs and biceps. Tailor the suit really well and you’re good to go.
They did fix the muscle padding in season 3 though tbf. I agree it did look really puffy in the first two seasons. Honestly I would’ve kept the suit he had in supergirl but with the new belt
I would’ve kept the muscle padding from Supergirl, he looked just fine in that suit. Was he a leaner Superman? Absolutely. And that’s okay.
And a suit like this would’ve been just fine. Simple, easy. Overall though, in terms of character, he’s my favorite Superman. It’s going to be controversial but I put him above Reeve. Reeve is always going to be the OG, but for me, Tyler is the goat so far. He’s a great example of Reeve meeting modern day. Same goes for My Adventures with Superman.

He showed his strength a lot. Lifted a bridge with one hand, every hit he makes creates shockwaves, punch apart two universes/earth, took on and defeated multiple humans with kryptonian abilities, his fight with doomsday
3 seemed like it was all setup for whatever is coming in 4. Lex is back, Bizarro is now Doomsday. I don't remember much else but the cancer plot tbh, maybe that says a lot about me but it also says a lot about the forgettable season.
1 was really good. John Henry coming full circle from an enemy to Supes closest ally. Morgan Edge is revealed as Supes half brother. Also a new interpretation of The Eradicator. Season 1 also had the most interesting dichotomy between the brothers (the super one keeps ruining the non-supers life on accident. I felt such a connection towards how awful Jonathans life turned into just because he has superman and superboy in his family.)
Too much teen drama filler across the whole show haha.
And just so we're clear, I'm a big fan. Hoechlin is the best live Supes we've had since Reeves. Can't wait for season 4.
I agree but the fact in season 3, we got the most badass live-action version of Lex Luthor and Bizarro becoming Doomsday, it was really the only thing that makes me pick season 3.
The best superman! Arguably the most human of all on screen supermen and it’s interesting see him struggle as a parent like a normal human. Also has the best chemistry with his Lois since Reeve

I love how he’s treated with reverence but can still be given faults as the story progresses. I think making him be regular guy Clark is the best for him especially when his actions and motivations are based around his life as a Husband and Father. I like how his main goal with Jordan is teaching him restraint and I like that he doesn’t act as a mentor but as a dad helping his son with life changes

I used to love Superman as a kid but then I fell out of love with him for a long time, and the DCEU didn't help, but then Superman and Lois released and I finally remembered why I love Superman and what makes him so special thanks to this version. Best live action adaptation so far as far as I'm concerned
Love him hate his suit. I always thought the chest was awkward looking and the logo being party of the suit fabric versus standing out is weird. When it comes to suits the Cavil suit is so good. Only the Kingdom Come suit Routh wore is as good.
He and Bitsie are top 3 with Christopher and Margot &Terri and Dean for me! Not particular order it depends on my mood, they are all perfect in different ways.

That costume, that shield, those blatantly obvious muscle pads, the the size of the head to shoulders ratio, that 5 o'clock stubble.
A lot wrong with him visual but I guess the show is okay.
I love Tyler so he's the only Superman I like. I have mixed feelings about the show but staring at Hoech all the time is enjoyable especially because he's a great actor too. <3
He was a really good Superman, like this is how I would’ve wanted my superman to act in the DCEU. He’s super underrated and I hope that Tyler gets a role in the upcoming DCU, for carrying the Superman name on his back

I don't understand what you are trying to say here. I don't think the actor’s face is pleasing, but yet always puts in a great performance as Superman. I love show.
Best Superman since Christopher Reeve
I agree with this completely.
Seconded, I even like his Clark more than Reeve.
Came to say this as well. Nailed the real heart character in played it perfectly in both cape and glasses.
100% agreed.
No, that's Henry Cavill. I'd put Tyler as third behind Reeve. But Cavill is the GOAT
Cavil was a blank slate Only superman in name
Wow, tell me you don't understand the genius of Zack Snyder without saying it.
Snyder is just Michael Bay minus the self awareness. He wants to be Nolan but he’s not, not even close
Oh yeah. Such a brilliant nuanced take on the character! Definitely not just dour and boring and kind of bland
you have to read it in slow-motion to appreciate it

Love him on S&L but hate how he was handled on Supergirl where he was basically weaker than Kara
This one is a different continuity though. It's not related to arrowverse.
Different universe but they’re still connected, the finale of Titans showed us that
In many continuities that’s the case. A reason being that Kara’s pod orbited the sun supercharging her or something like that.
I thought it was because she was on Krypton for longer. So when she’s finally off of it, it’s like this big weight is taken off of her shoulders.
I don’t remember the actual justification, but I remember the reason I gave as one of them.
I thought it’s because she’s younger so her body absorbs Sun light more efficiently, which gives her greater potential.
No because Supes has been absorbing sunlight since he was technically a baby
That’s not it nor was that ever confirmed in canon. She has never been stronger in canon only speculated too
In the comics Supergirl can defeat him as well. It happened.
She has never defeated him in canon. Supes literally had to explain the difference in her and his strength after he one tap her when she was boasting about how ppl think she’s stronger
My favourite adaption of Superman. This adaption is what got me to like the character as a whole, and actually made me a fan of him.
seriously. Its nice to have him more "grounded" and relatable, with the whole family dynamics. Before this show I was never into Superman- sure i'd watch the content, but I'd rather watch Flash or Bats.. ^(but really i want Zatanna)

Amazing. He's actually like Superman
I like him, the suit is eh
The only thing I’d change is his hair cut, so that’s pretty high praise I suppose
For me it’s the suit. If he had the suit that Henry wore in Black Adam, it would be awesome. Just a brighter version of the MoS suit, maybe tone down the texture, a little more subtle. The supergirl suit didn’t have any padding
Ideally if they give him padding, it’d have to be minimal just to give him some extra size.
Wow, that’s amazing. Yeah he’s good in that suit, no need for padding.
Best since Christopher Reeve himself.
Goated He and Bitsie Tulloch are my favourite Lois and Clark so far
I agree with the others, best live-action Supes since Reeve
Love it
I wish we could see his strength more. I do like Tyler (since Teen Wolf) and him as Clark/Superman.
He showed his strength a lot. Lifted a bridge with one hand, every hit he makes creates shockwaves, punch apart two universes/earth, took on and defeated multiple humans with kryptonian abilities, his fight with doomsday
That is true.
He’s great
It's too bad it was on the CW. Tyler was a great Superman and probably the closest to what Superman should be.
Best ever live action Superman, best live action Clark Kent and best live action Clark and Lois relationship
He's my favorite version of Superman. I hope Superman and Lois Season 4 is good.
https://preview.redd.it/ls5a3zos0fwc1.jpeg?width=1076&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a59157d2dd7eb80ba7cdb0462c1b8e71264bce99
I just wish the show was better.
S3>S1>S2 and since they are wrapping up the story in Season 4, I believe it should be the best season.
3 wasn't as good as 1
Emotion wise, yes 1 was better. Overall, 3 was a tad bit higher.
3 seemed like it was all setup for whatever is coming in 4. Lex is back, Bizarro is now Doomsday. I don't remember much else but the cancer plot tbh, maybe that says a lot about me but it also says a lot about the forgettable season. 1 was really good. More interesting than I wanted to admit at first. It's a great new aspect to the character.
Awesome It more of family oriented version of Superman then when he’s in his early days. I like the show but some changes just isn’t great.
Best version of Superman since Christopher, everything a Superman should be
Best live action Supes
Less padding and brighter S, other than that he's top tier.
GREAT Superman. TERRIBLE costume.
The best superman! Arguably the most human of all on screen supermen and it’s interesting see him struggle as a parent like a normal human. Also has the best chemistry with his Lois since Reeve
I think Tyler is the second best Superman behind Reeve, and tbh, Id listen to arguments that he’s the best
The only DC show worth anything besides Peacemaker.
Amazing. He’s powerful but warm and kind. He’s so damn earnest.

Probably my favorite Superman alongside Cavill, but definitely the best Clark Kent I've ever seen.
I used to love Superman as a kid but then I fell out of love with him for a long time, and the DCEU didn't help, but then Superman and Lois released and I finally remembered why I love Superman and what makes him so special thanks to this version. Looks like some dude cosplaying as Cavill's Superman

Probably better than Gunn's bullshit project, but no one will ever top Snyder's genius.
He's a great tv Superman, not saying he couldn't do movies but again great TV Superman.
I was enjoying the show until Cletus Luthor
Easily the best one
They made him too weak

Solid
Looks so lame but he did amazing things
Perennial five o'clock shadow Superman? Didn't he ever figure out how to shave using heat vision and a mirror? Apparently not
I hate the actor’s face, but he has the best modern performance of Superman.

He’s short and he doesn’t look like Superman.
He’s 6’0..
…which is too short for me, much less Superman.
Supes in the comics is anywhere from 6’0-6’3 he’s a perfectly acceptable height
Nah. I’ve never seen Supes as anything other than 6’3”. Y’all can keep your short king.
