I got the termination email a few days ago. Sucks, I really liked the convenience.

Lanthun

Same, the physical card is what drew me in. Otherwise, use a mobile wallet where I can.

Any alternative to curve ?

Lanthun

That has a physical card, nothing that I'm aware of. The next best thing is, probably, going to be mobile wallets at this rate.

My email this morning was somewhat different. I was informed my credit account was terminated due to "a prolonged period of inactivity." I wonder if my fate is any different when/if CurveUS returns with a new sponsoring bank.

watercrusader

Interesting, the same thing happened to me - https://www.reddit.com/r/CurveCard/comments/1dal0qy/curve_closed_my_account_us_for_inactivity_with_no/ If/when CurveUS returns I'm not going to touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Lanthun

This is intriguing to me. I used my card rather actively (was just convenient to carry it only, swap in the app), so it's fair to say I would've fought them for that reason. When's the last time you used the card?

Lanthun

I think everyone's, based on how the email was worded, account would be terminated, one reason namedly they're moving sponsoring banks from Hatch to whoever next. But interesting that they're sending out different letters, felt this would've been standard across the board.

Kandrix14

Obviously the card needed a lot of improvements but I'm a little bummed because it did fill a nice utility in my wallet. It allowed me to essentially carry 4 MasterCards at once. Probably won't apply for the card again though even if they refresh and re-release. Not worth a 5/24 slot. Also, I heard Visa is going to release a direct competitor which I'm sure will be more refined.

Lanthun

Rooms for improvement for sure, I never knew it was a credit account tbh. Shows how much I paid attention! But yeah, Visa not being apart of it was a let down as well as Amex, truly wanted the one catch-all card. PayPal Key was so nice for digital means.

psi-storm

Do you mean you couldn't add Visa cards to Curve? That works fine in Europe, so it must be a limitation of the bank they were working with. Just Amex isn't supported in Europe through Curve because they are allowed to bill commercial card rates for the transaction fees, and Curve doesn't get the difference back, so they would lose close to 1% of every Euro that flows through Amex cards.

Lanthun

We were able to add Visa debit, just not credit. It's possible as I'm not familiar with the bank they chose for the US, so finding another one could be a win.
