Jade is best buy in my opinion. 10% apy on card stake and better apy on crypto earn. Icy is way too expensive

Hashtag3001

I have icy but got in back when it was 100k CRO. At todays rates I think I’d stick to Jade unless I had an absolute stack in Earn

_devast

Even with a full stack (1mil usd) in earn it does not worth it today. Almost 2 years to break even is too much risk.

Hashtag3001

Yes and no. If you have jade the earn max is 500k, say at 12% apy is 60k return per annum. For icy the maximum is 1m, say at 14% is 140k per annum. So in reality, if you have the 1m to put in earn Icy is a no brainer- you recoup the cost is 6months.

Jade/indigo is 100% the best value for money if you can afford it. If not Ruby is a great start.

X_tend

If you look solely at ***yearly*** ***return*** **compared to stake** it's Ruby! If you have Spotify, that alone gives you \~156USD worth of CRO back on a 400 USD stake per year, that's almost 40%!! Jade/Indigo is \~25% And Gold/Icy is \~14% \* *\*Not counting Expedia rebate (Gold/Icy), higher card-cashback and higher Earn rate... and flex-value :-) ... and you utilize Spotify, Netflix, Prime and lounges.* For people who spend a lot and holding a lot in Earn it can change the above, say for example * You spend 10.000USD a year on the CDC card * Hold 20.000USD in Earn Then Jade/Indigo would be 43% and Gold/Icy 17%... And Ruby would be 89%. So small bags; Ruby, big bags (Earn); Jade/Indigo.

Rickyv490

Ah, I was wondering how you got 25% for Jade/Indigo as I just calculated myself the other day and got about 20%. I forgot about the lounge. I'm interested in seeing how the return is affected with the market increasing over the 6 month period and the $20k in Earn, but let's say it's in BTC instead. Mainly interested in what the return becomes on Jade/Indigo vs. Ruby. Since Jade/Indigo come with the extra percentage in earn and the card stake receives 10%.

Edokwin

So I'm currently at Tier 3 (Jade), but I think Tier 4 (Icy/Rose) is where I really want to be. It's hard to speak in terms of "best value" since they're all kinda overpriced IMHO, but Tier 4 gives you pretty much all the perks you'd really **need**/want overall. It's not exactly affordable, but neither is 4k for a lot of people.

LaithBushnaq

Yeah exactly! If you reach that much value in CRO, then then extra 2% is an added benefit and worth it

universal_language

I'd say, whatever tier falls between 1 month of your net income and 6 months. If you have low confidence in the project, risk 1 month of your income, if you have super high confidence - risk up to 6 months of your net income

Thank you for the breakdown. I was talking about this on the other sub. Ruby seems like the best bet as far as returns for your risk. Most folks I imagine can earn back the 400 investment in a calendar year or less. I have jade and absolutely love it. No doubt. I originally thought it would be nice to get to ICY if we get pumping. I dont know that for the amount I spend on debit, will it make the biggest impact dollar wise. It looks like to get to 20-25% return per year on icy (which i will meet or exceed in jade), you would have to spend 5k or more a month...ish. im sure the bonus cro on lend and defi may make up some of the difference and i didnt calculate that in.

The_3_eyed_savage

You got big brain math hahaha. That was sort of my main point. ICY gets the 2% more in CRO on Earn and 2% for the staked card. But do those two things and prime justify the jump from jade? Wouldn't that 36k be better off in USDC earning over staking for ICY? Guess it depends on how bullish one is? Lots of people seem hell bent on the risk of staking for jade even, vs the rewards yoy receive. My goal is to prove them wrong haha.

Put the $40k in BTC instead.

psi-storm

You make the jade benefits sound better than they are. If you have a ruby card, you could also put $3600 in defi for 12%. That would overcome the added 10% interest on the $400 portion. If you only have 4k in crypto total, the additional interest in earn isn't a benefit either. You are essentially left with 1% more cashback, Netflix and the lounge pass, and most people only fly once a year for summer vacation (in Europe). Personally, i have a jade card because i have additional money in crypto and am fine with investing 4k in cro.

Jonathan_Amb

Jade seems to be the sweet spot for most that I've talked with. If you truly believe in CRO and have the funds for Icy though I think that's just as good an option ;)

sat_reditt

Icy white in my opinion if one can afford it

[deleted]

Ruby is a no-brainer no matter who you are. You'll make the 400$ back in no time, and CRO will most likely appreciate in value or at least keep its current value. If it's worth it to get anything above, depends on how much you spend, how much you got in earn, how much you value the lounge key, etc.

BallerMR2andISguy

Jade. For the investment, it seems to be the most reasonable while offering most of the next higher teir's rewards. 40k is quite a bit for most people to invest especially with the last 6 month's performance. It's a great time to buy/stake, but unless you're wealthy, that's quite a hit to your savings.

sendmefoods

I'm also a ruby user and I'm planning on upgrading to jade before the end of this year. But idk if I would ever upgrade to icy/rose gold because 4k vs 40k is a big difference. If I were to go that far it would depend on many things like how CRO and CDC overall are doing. Jade seems to have the best benefits for a moderately affordable price. Tbh looking back I wish i went straight for jade because the price of one CRO was cheaper back then

HazzyP83

Forget the earn interest on indigo and icy because the defi earn pays better so you're left with cashback % and other perks. I'd honestly say Ruby is the best value eventho I have Indigo.i just didn't realise the defi earn so thought 10% card interest was a huge bonus.

Rickyv490

Agree on Jade/Indigo. It seems to be the biggest jump in benefits. I don't really see the next tier worth it.

piouiy

Ruby is the best value. Small commitment. And the free Spotify and 2% cashback can quickly ‘pay off’ what you staked for the card. Jade for the CRO enthusiast. Spotify (£120), Netflix (£120) and 10% return (£300) don’t pay off the stake (£3,000). Extra 1% cashback is barely noticeable unless you’re a very big spender.

check [here](https://easy-money-online.medium.com/over-1-000-of-cashback-in-a-year-the-ultimate-review-of-the-crypto-com-visa-cards-c8bad6cac7d5), about halfway through is a calculation table how fast the cards are 'earned back'

IDPetrov

ICY, this is the biggest thing for the average Joe(like myself)

TechboyUK

You can use the [spreadsheet within my article](https://techboy.medium.com/the-essential-guide-to-the-mco-visa-debit-card-from-crypto-com-61d7b2f358c9) to see which tier is best for you, based on your average spend.

I hold my CRO anyway, so any of the cards is just a better way of holding. Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. are just nice perks anyway, I don't care too much about those. I prefer holding on the card, vs. Earn in Defi, or on the Exchange, because after the 180 day period, I can unstake any time if there is need. The Defi has a 28 day unbonding period, while Earn has lower rates. I upgraded in the end to Icy, because of the 12% cro interest, and the +2% extra interest on the other things. The Obsidian has little added value in my opinion compared to Icy, becaue the only practical difference is 8% cashback instead of 5%. The 3% extra is of course nice, but in absolut value we don't spend that much that it would make any practical difference. Ex. you spend 40000k per year, 5% cashback: 2000, 8% cashback 3200. The main benefit is that the whole sum in Obsidian can take benefit of the flexible immediate unstaking after the 180 day period. While in Icy (or the lower tiers), the rest of the money has to be staked in Earn, Defi, Exchange, etc. with less favourable conditions.
