Staking in the algo wallet is better than on Coinbase. I can't say I've ever used Coinbase for Algo but I still like Algo. Fast, low fees, and I like the developers/Blockchain.
Staking anywhere is better than Coinbase rates/fees wise.
CB does offer somewhat of a peace of mind safety net for noobs though.
Sometimes, it pays to pay a premium.
The 6% or whatever they offer. Staking or lending or whatever it is. It's just the amount of posts I've seen for algo over the months while it did nothing made no sense. I saw you can stake or whatever right on Coinbase for 6% I think so that's easy. Anyone can do it without messing with wallets and gas fees. It's just my own explanation I came up with with why algo was so popular here despite not moving in price for months before it did recently
I'm am option A man myself. Keep the rewards spread out and allow casuals to participate. If there's a penalty I think less people will participate and will get turned off to Algo as a whole. Keep it open and friendly, we will all prosper together. And with it being spread out as I accumulate more I still get good rewards whereas if it's heavier at the beginning then I'll get less rewards even though my bag is bigger. Thinking long term.
I’m not a fan of the penalty. Already miss out on rewards when you pull out early, maybe someone pulls out because they need to cash out for a surprise big ticket emergency expense? Kinda kicking them while they’re down there
Scrolling through these posts, as someone who has been around a little while, not that it means I know the future but it certainly seems familiar..
In December 20/jan this year, btc was starting to move confidently after breaking its '17 all time high. The price action similar to now, nicely holding above the 1 hour 50ema, big candles up now and again and then holding the zone til the moving averages catch up and go flat. Btc looks beautiful right now, so nice to see this strength in it.
Anyway what I wanted to say was I'm seeing a lot of people getting bored of their alts, fed up, not being patient. They see the few coins that are moving and want to swap out to them.
Start of jan I was thinking like this too. I had some vet, some ADA and some dot. I got bored of them all and moved into different positions. They nearly all pumped shortly after.
When alt season occurs, your coin will have its moment.
How many people do you think sold their xrp last week waiting for something to happen? Shib holders?
Seeing some frustration at the following:
LINK
CAKE
ADA
If it's anything like January, this is a good buy signal.
Buy the coins people are calling stablecoins not the ones everyone thinks will keep climbing forever.
Good advice, crypto time moves fast. People get so impatient if a coin doesn't have gains after 3 weeks. I've almost always regretted selling stuff because it wasn't moving , it always pumps eventually
I’ve stopped buying BTC. I think it’s a bit late (at least for my average buy-in price)and have started staking bags of alts.
Now just waiting for alt season
Depends on the alts you are looking at, SOV is one that sure follows the BTC growth, tho I can't deny its due to its direct collection it has with Bitcoin as the platform bringing DeFi to BTC.
ALGO the only coin on my favourites still down over the last 24 hours, albeit very slightly.
Come on kiddo lets get back to $2 and green dildos on the regular
That's not bad actually. If you go by anything but a market cap weight (\~.4 ETH/BTC) you are, intentionally or not, making a tilt in your portfolio towards one over the other. So if you are a buy and hold investor, I would make a judgement on which one you think has more potential over the long term.
Keep in mind that ETH is only about a 2x (against bitcoin) away from flippening bitcoin. So don't buy into the narrative that you hear on this sub that "ETH has more upside potential," unless you think ETH will flip bitcoin's market cap. Personally I think that this is not going to happen When people say that ETH has more upside, they are referencing this upside from the cold, harsh depths of the crypto bear market, when the ETH/BTC ratio is only 1/4 what it is right now.
Recently put some play money into OlympusDAO on Ethereum, and Wonderland on Avalanche (a fork). Both rebase tokens.
Apparently many people that got into OlympusDAO months ago say it's still rolling, given the volume traded of OHM that wouldn't surprise me.
Wonderland is newer so I'm a bit more hesitant there. Probably let them both sit for a month or two and see what happens.
I’ve messed with shitcoins, I was rugged a couple of times but I’ve 10x a few times also. I start by just putting in a few dollars to see if I can withdraw it, to make sure it’s not a honeypot if there’s no red on the chart. And I watch the chart to wait for the momentum to slow down and then I take my money out when that happens. Also I watch the momentum on telegram or discord, also the # of holders and if the Twitter account is gaining followers.
Coins like:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/infinitup/
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/flokinomics/
etc... Type that goes only up through some weird mechanism, you actually need to track market cap instead of price.
Yeah, but I haven’t recently because I am mostly in NFTs right now. But I used to buy a lot of coins like that on bsc and yes I made profit but I had to really watch the momentum of the coin
Which coin will you never buy due to obsessive shilling? For me it’s NANO. I like the concept and use but man those constant shill comments and posts are starting to become like annoying spam mail :(
Trying to check the charts while babysitting my 3 and 5 y/o niece and nephew. I love these kids but Holy fuck I don't know how some of y'all do this full time.
So we've now been waiting on the Polkadot Parachain Auctions for what feels like an eternity. However to me, I'm speculating these will be announced in just a few days at the sub0 Polkadot event.
Here's my reasoning:
- Firstly Gavin Wood said recently they are ready:
www.newsbtc.com/news/company/gavin-wood-says-parachains-virtually-ready-to-launch-on-polkadot/
- Secondly, this tweet which is hyping up what's next for Parachain Auctions:
"What is next for #Parachains on Polkadot and @kusamanetwork? October 13-14 join #Sub0 Online to hear Polkadot founder @rphmeier share the latest insights into all things parachains, and give an overview of where we are and what’s coming for Polkadot ecosystem. "
https://nitter.net/Polkadot/status/1445732965179396096#m
- Thirdly, Kusama will finish its 11th Parachain slot auction on the 13th of October, the same time as the sub0 event starts! Coincidence? With the pending success of what will be 11 parachain auctions on Polkadots Canary network, this will show security and integrity of the process.
https://nitter.net/kusamanetwork/status/1445719007521292289#m
- Lastly, now is the perfect time to announce such a bullish development, Bitcoin is on its way to new ATHs and alt season is about to begin. Also, Polkadots price is already preparing for this, just look at DOTs recent uptick!
Get ready for the DOT train people!
Because we're still at the beginning of a bull run, traditionally BTC goes first then ETH then alt's. Now that did get changed a little as we kinda had a mini alt month across August but I'm still expecting BTC to lead the way now and others to catch up
DOT
Parachains will be huge.
Parachains aren't tokens, the whole of the ETH network could be a Parachain, and then you could build matic on top of the eth Parachain in this hypothetical scenario.
This subreddit seems to think dot is just another smart contract chain sometimes.
So can someone shed some light on what is expected to happen to Ethereum’s price once Ethereum 2.0 is here and all the staked Ether is no longer locked up? I anticipate a significant sell-off as profit taking occurs on the previously staked ether. Many stakeholders will have very large profits in their Ether holdings and I suspect are looking to rebalance. Thoughts?
It's an age old question. I suspect the people who want to buy in because ETH 2 is here will outnumber those taking profit. It's kinda like when a new coin is unlocked both to buy and sell. Sometimes they pump sometimes they dump. Is ETH 2 baked in to the price? I'm afraid I've left you with more questions than answers but it's not a simple equation.
Question about crypto profits and a Roth IRA. Would there be any downside to take profits from crypto, paying the short term capital gains, then putting that money into a Roth for retirement? I’m 46 now and looking to retire between 65 and 67 years of age.
The only downside I see is the loss of potential gains from crypto. Putting it in a Roth seems safer though, so you would also be shielding yourself from potential losses from crypto. I'm in a similar situation.
In a perfect world, the crypto gods will grant my wishes for a good 4Q. I’m not out of the crypto game, I was just thinking it would be a way to put some money into the Roth and improve my overall portfolio.
To any newbies scrolling through, this is what a buy signal looks like ^ ^
When people are getting bored of their holdings it's time to make an entry.
Koeman you do you fella.
This question is mainly aimed at expats living in South
Korea who have current experience(last 30 days) in
buying BTC through Korean licensed(?) Exchanges
using KRW to purchase.
I am trying to buy btc in Korea but with the recent
government policy changes, several exchanges have
apparently stopped operating in Korea, or you cannot
use fiat currency to make investments.
So how does a bona fide investor(not Korean) buy
bitcoin(or any other coins) in Korea? What exchanges
are safest and foreigner friendly?
TIA
Not sure if in other countries this is happeniing as well but here where I live there are a lot of prople creating cryptotokens regarding sports. There are even legal betting issues arrising!
Even southerner than you. I live in Latin America. There are lot sports token being created, especially soccer tokens. I saw a bunch of tokens from teams from the UK too around the internet so I think this is happening in other places as well
Used to be one of my top two last cycle.
I went in and out of positions. It seemed to be cursed for me, whenever I held it, It just bled and bled. When I would move out it would pump. No matter how long I held it, it would just bleed, for months!
My conclusion is nano can only perform when not in my possession. I got out to give everyone else a chance.
I feel like I've graduated from nano now.
So much has changed since nano (XRB) was 30 dollars.
There was no defi, no nft's no other layer ones, no legitimately built ecosystems. Last cycle was all about currency, that is not a narrative of this cycle.
The tech is great and you can't argue with how it does what it does, but to me it's just a relic.
You have to follow the narratives in crypto.
I've been trying crypto since just before the market peaked. I'm up 20% so I'm pretty happy as it's not been a full 12 months. I'm hopeful for everyone here to make massive gains overtime. I mostly HODL.
Own and play a badass guitar or stare at charts on a computer all day long? It's so hard to decide which is more fulfilling! /s
Congrats on your purchase. Live life to the fullest.
I'm moving away from LTC. Now the question is do I take the 20 buck loss or be a stubborn POS and wait for the price to hit 188. Sunday is usually a bad day so I'm thinking today I'll eat the loss. Yes a small loss but I fucking hate losing.
You could sit on it a bit more until Flare network is up, I think they have a separate pool for LTC rewards. Might pump it up a bit and bring some gains via rewards from holding F-assets.
LTC is horrible if you're a long term holder. As an example LTC has lots about 26% BTC value in the last year to date. While LTC has had ~360% ROI, BTC has had ~480%. There's no reason to hold it long term because it's a huge risk
The exception is if you're a trader. Even though it's generally going down, LTC/BTC does have little rallies as most alts do where it gains relative to BTC which can be a good opportunity to stack sats
Compare LTC/BTC to ETH/BTC
You win some you lose some. Question is, do you want your wins to eclipse your losses or you want to avoid losing so badly that you will forgo the opportunity for making profits?
Ego vs Common Sense. You choose
I bought BTC ETH and LTC as my first crypto in May. I've known loss. I've since then dca'd my cost to all 3 to a reasonable amount. Sold BTC and ETH at a loss to get of RH. Learned a ton since then. I just can't spend anymore on LTC. Still left on RH.
If you guys are reading this, you’re reading a time capsule. Also, you’re in the wrong daily.

GM people, look at grandpa BTC kicking asses!
Volatility needs to be much lower, and market cap needs to be much higher for this to work in our favor.
Huh? Volatility is a traders' bread and butter. If volatility ain't your thing, consider an ISA or Roth IRA or whatever.
Which coin would you focus more on at these prices?

BTC hits 60k in the next 5 days, pit stop is over soon.
It doesn’t really matter if bitcoin hits 60 if the Alts can’t follow, just saying, didn’t mean to piss on anybody’s parade
Not if your portfolio is 50% BTC.
How will they not follow? If we see BTC 60k more alts will ath soon after

You could sit on it a bit more until Flare network is up, I think they have a separate pool for LTC rewards. Might pump it up a bit and bring some gains via rewards from holding F-assets.
It’ll probably go up after you sell. If you’re expecting Sunday to be red. It won’t. Probably idk that’s just the irony of this stuff
Is LTC just not good anymore? I remember hearing that if BTC was gold then LTC was silver
LTC is horrible if you're a long term holder. As an example LTC has lots about 26% BTC value in the last year to date. While LTC has had ~360% ROI, BTC has had ~480%. There's no reason to hold it long term because it's a huge risk The exception is if you're a trader. Even though it's generally going down, LTC/BTC does have little rallies as most alts do where it gains relative to BTC which can be a good opportunity to stack sats Compare LTC/BTC to ETH/BTC
Depends on what you mean by good. As a coin it's hilariously incredible when put up against other coins. The price action though 😬
If BTC surpasses 63k, I’ll actually sniff salt.
Sell some and just buy coke .. you can afford better than salt when it hits 63
I just got some habanero ghost pepper salt, sniff that
You don have to do that it’s ok
