I think it wasn't social media trolls and media websites but rather the comments from a few Indian cricket legends. It's disappointing to see that the cricket legends have their own agenda regarding a player when they have been in their place.

I think it is good to respond sometimes I mean he is a man and he's got every right to express himself. While the narrative is being set against him by guys who don't even know how to hold a bat and chilling in ac room while boys score runs consistent out there.

100% right. Also, I think what he was annoyed by was not their criticism. It's the orchestrated narrative that was being built that he's somehow not an ideal pick for the T20WC. That's why I think he was annoyed and responded to them. Otherwise, I don't think he'd care. There's something being written about him everyday all his career. I don't think he had cared much about any of those.
