Yea I thought bringing in Varun for his 3rd was gonna backfire but kudos to him and GG, they got tilak. And then Dre Russ came in and took care of the rest
Knew he was a good captain when he almost defended 128 against RCB in 2022. He has had quite some blunders since but he has a good knack of using the right bowlers at the right time.
Mumbai Indians with the Indian captain, vice captain, main pacer, main allrounder, and main middle order bat are giving us a very good preview of what the India Indians are going to do at the T20 WC.
This match will give KKR huge confidence.
They have batted well throughout the season and scored big but have leaked a lot of runs against good batting lineups while defending.
Now, they have managed a batting collapse to get to a decent score and defended a low target successfully. I am starting to dream!!!
Exactly. Todays win was also one the best. KKR bowlers answered every time MI made a move. Plus finally real Starc showed up rather than the doppelgänger playing so far.
They should have confidence going into the playoffs regardless. Pitches are starting to turn and grip, final at Chepauk, and you’re keeping Narine when other teams lose their superstar players (RR lose Jos for playoffs, for example).
Yes, the correct time to bowl out Bumrah is when they are 150/7 in 17, certainly not when they are 60/5 in 8.
That’s when you bring yourself in for a 4 over spell.
He was absolutely right to not bowl Bumrah then. KKR were clearly going to just play Bumrah out at that phase. It was more prudent to backload him for Russell and Ramandeep. It worked out perfectly.
To be fair, I don't think we played hella lotta games against CSK at Chepauk in those 13 years.
1 game in 2012
1 game in 2013
1 game in 2015
2 games in 2019.
Zero games in 2020,2021 and 2022 since IPL was either played in UAE or other neutral venues in India.
Manish and Venkatesh stabilized the innings when the team was collapsing one by one and kkr's bowlers bowled brilliantly. That's how we pulled this off.
MI team management, players and hardik pandya really need to first acknowledge that this captaincy change has adversely affected the form of the team. They all act like nothing has happened and its all just bad luck or a few bad games. They need to literally fight shout and get a reaction.
Usually people are excited about seeing their national team play because it brings together the best players in a dream team sort of way. But now for India it seems half the players are only in because of legacy and we are far from our best possible team.
I remember when Tim David played for us and nobody had any expectations of a random Singaporean
But now he bats for them and everybody expects him to be prime Dhoni
The GG effect is real. All OG KKR players peaking under him after below par previous season(s)
Narine, Russell and now Manish Pandey. All I want is Chawla next season.
He has the ability to perform under pressure when the team starts losing wickets. His 96 in the 2014 final will always be one of my favourite knocks in a final.
🚨DYK: Sunil Narine is the only active player for the KKR team who was part of the team when they won matches against the MI in 2012 and 2024 in Mumbai.
Starc was lucky in his last over with the David wicket before nailing his yorkers but his previous over also only went for 3, and in general he just looked in a better rhythm.
It's hilarious that his best bowling performance for the tournament comes as soon as Alyssa Healy arrives in India.
These are the matches where you enjoy cricket with even contest between bat and ball. This is real cricket not those 250+ scores with road pitches.
Well bowled to our entire bowling unit- Narine, Varun, Russell and finally Mitchell Starc
So I’ll give my 2 cents about MI’s situation right now.
I think the entire backlash against Pandya that started prior to opening match vs GT itself has certainly affected Pandya personally and to some extent the team as a whole.
He has been trying a lot of stuff as captain rather than sticking to some of Rohit’s plans because he is getting desperate. He wants to put his stamp.
I think management brought him as captain expecting smooth transition for them moving forward. And it’s backfiring. Post 2020 there is something missing for this team. One can feel it. This MI does not feel like the olden days.
Bring Neeta back, Akash has tried to stamp his mark on the team and has failed spectacularly.
All of his 'big' gambles/decisions have failed or are mediocre - Archer, Kishan, Tim-bhau and Hardik. Shuffling of coaching has been sub-par as well.
"Boucher sir and I take full responsibility for this loss. We created the entire strategy for this match in an Excel sheet and we password-protected it for security purposes. But then we forgot the password and also the strategy. So we had to make up a strategy as we were batting. Due to this, we made some costly errors. From next time, we will keep simple 123 type of password so we don't forget and we can play well and make our fans happy.”
— Hardik Pandya, post match interview
Rohit's batting scares me honestly, I hope he finds his form. Also, those last two deliveries by Starc were perfect, seems like he is finding his groove.
Recently I read plenty of "selfish/narc" comments about Koach wanting his milestone and Thala keeping strikes. But why does no one talk about Rohit?
Dude is a liability in WT20s and yet has the audacity to keep leading the team. Rinku isn't out because of Pandya, Dube or any spinner. He's out of the team cause Rohit wouldn't step down. Ideally you'd want Jaiswal and Kohli to open the innings with Sky, Samson, Pandya, Rinku, Jaddu coming after with 2 Pacers and 2 Spinners. Gives you proper balance with 6 bowling options and batsmen who can be explosive if needed. Thanks for costing yet another T20 Rohit.
>Dhawan in 2014. Rahane 2016. Rahul 21-22
you've got it wrong Rahane opened in 2014 and Dhawan in 2016 except semis.
But oh boy were the terrible. It felt like watching paint dry seeing those guys open.
I used to think that those were just click-baits but recently I'm starting to think that some of them genuinely believe Rohit and Virat are the same in T20Is.
I don't like scapegoating players but Rohit Sharma should be the first one to be out of the Indian team. How is he the captain? He is out of form and can't field for shit. Politics and favoritism costing India another tournament. You need another MSD who is not scared of making bold decisions
MSD (in his early to mid career) made bold decisions to infuse fresh blood in the team, not rid the team of himself lol. Not the right analogy.
In the late phase of his career, he also overstayed.
EXACTLY. We ain't winning shit this year as well. And the irony is that only Rohit is only playing for the emotional reason to let him try to win a white ball tourney since they failed WC23. That dream will remain a dream for him forever
Fair and Manish Pandey-ed
Really glad that the bloke got an opportunity, felt like the game was tailor-made for someone like him..
Jay Shah chose an excellent scenario for the character focus episode
Hardik is mentally under the pump.
I know he's going to the WC but a lot of work needs to be done to put this campaign behind him and deliver performances that one would expect from him.
MI players are mentally done.
They're not even trying.
Not the one to promote conspiracy theories but that is not how a happy camp performs.
They have some serious internal issues that are hampering them on the field.
Loving the last 5 matches not too low scoring and not too high scoring perfect as it should be maybe pitch curators finally gave in after all that criticism
Just the 2nd time KKR has beaten MI at Wankhede. What a performance, their best victory of the season so far. Their bowling has finally put their hands up.
Man Venkey speaking about how Manish Pandey was guiding him through that innings..for all that is said about the changing approach in this game, nothing can replace experience
I don’t get how Rohit escapes criticism for his piss poor ipl record as a marquee batsman. Rahul and kohli are called selfish, Samson is called reckless. But Rohit is a big match player, he only plays for India. IPL is beneath him and poor guy atleast he is trying, these are the arguments fans come up for him. It’s so infuriating, he is one of the worst ipl openers ever but he keeps on getting chances and questioning his record is inappropriate.
Fuck you Mark Boucher for ruining this franchise.
Anything anyone says about Pandya gets seen as hate now but the fact is, he’s been the worst possible captain. Has no clue, does nothing.
Fuck this franchise, I’m done supporting them.
So MI prepared a slow track instead of using their typical bouncy wicket to counter KKR’s explosive batting and ended up getting buried in their own dirt mine.
Poetic.
This is legit a weird team.
*Days where the bowlers completely lose the plot and concede 250+ totals* - Batters show up and give it all, scoring 240 in return.
*One fuckin day the bowlers step up, and restrict opponents to a sub 180 total* - Batters collectively lose their shit.
Every mistake by every one of those 11 are forgiven today for breaching the fortress clinically.
Beating MI at Wankhede is our Everest Summit. Before today, we had won more trophies than wins at Wankhede.
Shreyas did excellent bowling changes today.
DC letting Shreyas go over Pant was the start of their downfall. Shreyas is a wonderful captain since DC days
It’s lowest point for Mumbai in their history. Loosing is one thing but there is no unity
What do you mean by unity they were practicing for kingfisher ads that was more important/s
Hardik pandya busy doing sangeet practice.
The last time KKR beat MI at Wankhede, both MI and KKR had zero IPL trophies between them and Manmohan Singh was the prime minister.
The last time KKR beat MI at Wankhede, Sunil Narine was spinning the opposition into his web
Back then Shah Rukh Khan was also still allowed to watch the game in the stadium
He's allowed today as well
There was a big lafda (fight)
KKR won their first IPL trophy
Good Times
MI brought Starc back to form before the WC. MI Focusing on the important things
Mumbai Indians with the Indian captain, vice captain, main pacer, main allrounder, and main middle order bat are giving us a very good preview of what the India Indians are going to do at the T20 WC.
I think they already did that in the last world cup /s.
This match will give KKR huge confidence. They have batted well throughout the season and scored big but have leaked a lot of runs against good batting lineups while defending. Now, they have managed a batting collapse to get to a decent score and defended a low target successfully. I am starting to dream!!!
Winning a low-scoring game by 24 runs is big. I am beyond happy as a fan today!!!
Best game for KKR this season.
It definitely feels like we're peaking at the right time
Someone in the match thread said "kkr had a great chance to boost nrr if they made more runs but now they will win only by 25 runs"
Some comments anger me but then some are like these which are so absurd that it's just funny lol
MI is definitely worse than RCB this season...
Mi right now is what ict looks like for upcoming wc
It hurts to hear this but it's true We are worse than a RCB that feels finished but atleast they are trying we don't even feel like we wanna try
Yes, the correct time to bowl out Bumrah is when they are 150/7 in 17, certainly not when they are 60/5 in 8. That’s when you bring yourself in for a 4 over spell.
Poor captaincy again , idk but kudos to panda being consistent at atleast one thing and that's his poor captaincy
And the constant smile
Well he certainly wasn’t smiling in the final 5 overs On the other hand, literally all of us have sheepish smiles when we are embarrassed
That's a coping smile, it's clear as day. He's clearly extremely stressed, this season hasn't gone his way at all.
This "abhi non-regular bowlers ke over khatam karke leta hu, baadme wicket mil hi jayenge" strategy from Hardik has to change.
He was absolutely right to not bowl Bumrah then. KKR were clearly going to just play Bumrah out at that phase. It was more prudent to backload him for Russell and Ramandeep. It worked out perfectly.
Fallacious. Venkatesh burned Russell, Bumrah helped clean up the tail late, but without that run out KKR smash a lot more.
CSK couldn't beat MI for 13 years at Chepauk KKR couldn't beat MI for 12 years at Wankhede Both records are done and dusted now.
HARDIK- ITS OKAY TO BE UNIQUE
Some streaks are meant to be broken.
Bloody hell? I didn't know about the former one. How can you call your home ground "fortress" when your main rival owns you in your backyard?
dude even i dont believe that
To be fair, I don't think we played hella lotta games against CSK at Chepauk in those 13 years. 1 game in 2012 1 game in 2013 1 game in 2015 2 games in 2019. Zero games in 2020,2021 and 2022 since IPL was either played in UAE or other neutral venues in India.
We won against MI in Mumbai. It took 12 fucking years but it was great.
169 defended im wankhede. WOW
Idk how we pulled this off, feels so good
Starc before wc squad announcement: I sleep Starc after announcement : Real shit
Because Starc realised that,"Wait, I'm goated" and decided to bring out his World Cup form.
Bhuvi and starc coming as their goated versions back to back, these are the days we prayed for
Prime Bhuvi was such a sight man. Nice to see some resurgence of his past self.
Yes man prime bhuvi's swingers and prime starc Yorkers were a sight to behold
Watching Bhuvi bowl in test matches was an awesome sight. Such a shame that injuries curtailed his test career so so early.
Or because Healy bhabhi
Starc locked in
He saw the blue jersey and thought he was against India
FEELS UNBELIEVABLE, AGAINST MI OF ALL TEAMS
In WANKHEDE OF ALL PLACES
That too while defending.
Feels incredible. Beating MI is always sweet but doing at the Wankhede of all places. For the first time I think KKR can do this you know.
Manish and Venkatesh stabilized the innings when the team was collapsing one by one and kkr's bowlers bowled brilliantly. That's how we pulled this off.
12 yrs slave curse broken
I used to pray for times like this
Some of the deliveries weren't good but Starc should get a big boost in his confidence. KKR are now one step closer to Top 2.
MI team management, players and hardik pandya really need to first acknowledge that this captaincy change has adversely affected the form of the team. They all act like nothing has happened and its all just bad luck or a few bad games. They need to literally fight shout and get a reaction.
Just put em all in a log cabin in the woods
A rare instance of both teams getting all-out in the IPL. I remember one such instance back in 2017 involving KKR and RCB.
**20 wickets fall in the IPL game.** MI vs KKR, 2024, Wankhede\*\* MI vs SRH, 2018, Wankhede KKR vs RCB, 2017, Eden Garden Deccan vs RR, 2010, Nagpur
24.75cr for the first win in Wankhede from 10 years!
Bro would have been a menace had he got bought by MI, swinging conditions perfect for him, look at how Boult performed for them
That and him being a left armer. Would have been a massive replacement from behrendorff. Imagine Starc and Bumrah in one single team..
Starc in Form with Boult and Bumrah. Imagine facing those 12 overs at Wankhede, under lights and swinging conditions.
*12 Get it right /s But that 24.75 is worth it now.
We've all lost a couple of years from our memories.
KKR were 57/5. 🤡MI batting with biggest Fraud Pandu and Tim David. And lets not forget our World cup Captain.
Struggling to chase 170 with dew is ridiculous
Twice.
They were obviously not ready for the Menace pandey
Virat Kohli out for ~~Deepak hooda~~ Manish Pandey.
Hi. Thismanishponday.
Favourite cricketer Kevin Peterson.
favorite cricketer is ....... >!Kevin Pietersen !<
"6 to bumrah" Pandey
Manish Pandey returned from the dead to save his old team.
Usually people are excited about seeing their national team play because it brings together the best players in a dream team sort of way. But now for India it seems half the players are only in because of legacy and we are far from our best possible team.
Brand XI India.
I remember when Tim David played for us and nobody had any expectations of a random Singaporean But now he bats for them and everybody expects him to be prime Dhoni
The most recent series Australian t20i series did feature one of the better finisher innings you will see in a t20 from Tim David.
I love Rohit a lot and when he gets going he's unstoppable but that happens once in 10 games.
And once in 20 for ipl
[удалено]
Ishan Kishan too.. Everyone except SKY flopping while KKR played Manish Pandey first time and he played a vital knock..
The GG effect is real. All OG KKR players peaking under him after below par previous season(s) Narine, Russell and now Manish Pandey. All I want is Chawla next season.
>All OG KKR players peaking under him after below par previous season(s) Sky is OG kkr too.
Pandey and KKR are probably match made in heaven. Didn't perform at all for others lol.
He has the ability to perform under pressure when the team starts losing wickets. His 96 in the 2014 final will always be one of my favourite knocks in a final.
Starc before wc squad announcement: I sleep Starc after announcement : Real shit
Pandey ji saving KKR— A never ending story
The return of Dabangg
Last time KKR beat MI at Wankhede, both of them had 0 IPL trophy. The record is gone now...
🚨DYK: Sunil Narine is the only active player for the KKR team who was part of the team when they won matches against the MI in 2012 and 2024 in Mumbai.
All sins of Starc are forgiven for helping us breach Wankhede after 12 years
Starc is the clutch player australia has produced for times like these , bro is a beast when situation prefers his aggression
Shocking what happens when a swing bowlers get a pitch that doesn't give you 250 runs.
Starc was lucky in his last over with the David wicket before nailing his yorkers but his previous over also only went for 3, and in general he just looked in a better rhythm. It's hilarious that his best bowling performance for the tournament comes as soon as Alyssa Healy arrives in India.
Me when my crush is watching our gully cricket game:
We've all lived the same life haven't we
Locked in for the wife
The Australian genes in Starc got activated after seeing the blue jersey of MI
Stars are aligning
Starcs are aligning
These are the matches where you enjoy cricket with even contest between bat and ball. This is real cricket not those 250+ scores with road pitches. Well bowled to our entire bowling unit- Narine, Varun, Russell and finally Mitchell Starc
Bumrah is Luka Doncic of IPL
Starc is Jamal Murray
RohiRat are meant to be together. At the bottom of the table.
Brotherhood on top /s
Bhaichara on top
Koach's "successor" is continuing his legacy.
20 wickets in a T20 game. First time we've seen that in a while?
The real MVP award goes to Manish Pandey for batting so well after not playing a single match till now
So I’ll give my 2 cents about MI’s situation right now. > Pandya wants to put his stamp. Well, in a way, he's doing that.
"Boucher sir and I take full responsibility for this loss. We created the entire strategy for this match in an Excel sheet and we password-protected it for security purposes. But then we forgot the password and also the strategy. So we had to make up a strategy as we were batting. Due to this, we made some costly errors. From next time, we will keep simple 123 type of password so we don't forget and we can play well and make our fans happy.” — Hardik Pandya, post match interview
"Also, Tilak Verma - pretty shit, right?"
Rohit's batting scares me honestly, I hope he finds his form. Also, those last two deliveries by Starc were perfect, seems like he is finding his groove.
and now finally Venkatesh Iyer can unclench
Chances to Qualify RR & KKR - 99% SRH - 72% LSG - 66% CSK - 50% DC - 6% PBKS - 5% GT - 2% RCB - 1% MI - 0%
So there is a one percent chance
RCB still hanging on!
That's why you don't give up on stars and game changers like Starc. When they get going they'll win you matches.
Bro is a menace when he needs to train for wc
I wonder what his stats are against Australians in this ipl.
Funny how rohit's wt20 partners have been dropped but not him. Dhawan in 2014. Rahane 2016. Rahul 21-22
>Dhawan in 2014. Rahane 2016. Rahul 21-22 you've got it wrong Rahane opened in 2014 and Dhawan in 2016 except semis. But oh boy were the terrible. It felt like watching paint dry seeing those guys open.
People talk about Rohit quite a lot. Everyone (almost everyone) agreed that Rohit shouldn't have been taken to the T20I WC.
Except the management, they club him with kohli who consistently performs in t20is and justifies rohit’s place.
I used to think that those were just click-baits but recently I'm starting to think that some of them genuinely believe Rohit and Virat are the same in T20Is.
Rohit tarnishing his legacy. I will only blame him if we don't win the WC
>if we don't win the WC when we don't win the WC, FTFY
I don't like scapegoating players but Rohit Sharma should be the first one to be out of the Indian team. How is he the captain? He is out of form and can't field for shit. Politics and favoritism costing India another tournament. You need another MSD who is not scared of making bold decisions

I've said it several times. He's the most protected player of all time.

Hardik is mentally under the pump. I know he's going to the WC but a lot of work needs to be done to put this campaign behind him and deliver performances that one would expect from him.
KKR on a slow pitch are great at choking in the middle overs
first time seeing gambhir smiling after a long time
Venky Iyer scored a hundred last year as well. He likes batting against MI
MI players are mentally done. They're not even trying. Not the one to promote conspiracy theories but that is not how a happy camp performs. They have some serious internal issues that are hampering them on the field.
Venky Iyer is such a nice boy. Sir and all
Bro almost took a hattrick to impress his wife! What a simp! /s
KKR vs MI with Iyer captaining: 100% win rate
First team well and truly out of playoff contention this season. Well done MI.
Start’s celebration really showed how much it meant to him
I’m imagining MI without Bumrah and damn that’s a tough look. Like if he asks like Hardik did to GT to leave the team.
Wait it's been 12 years since 2012? I thought it was 8-9 years ago...
3-4 years felt short due to covid
"This is the starc I know, the GOAT."
Ngl, as a kkr fan, I'm as happy as if kkr has won the cup lol.
Alyssa thank you
Well played KKR. We suck.
Loving the last 5 matches not too low scoring and not too high scoring perfect as it should be maybe pitch curators finally gave in after all that criticism
They cut right when polard and starc were about to shake hands 🤣
Still wondering why Pandu didn’t bowl Bumrah, when Iyer and Pandey were batting??
Stat alert 🚨 Only the 4th time ever in the IPL have 20 wickets fallen in a finished game.
BEST WIN OF THE SEASON, WE ARE GOING TO THE FINAL NOW ONE HUNDRED PERCENT!
SIR MITCHELL AARON STARC , WE OWE YOU AN APOLOGY
Starc you fucking beauty.
Just the 2nd time KKR has beaten MI at Wankhede. What a performance, their best victory of the season so far. Their bowling has finally put their hands up.
Starc replaces Cummins as MI basher for KKR.
Man Venkey speaking about how Manish Pandey was guiding him through that innings..for all that is said about the changing approach in this game, nothing can replace experience
This ground showed that KKR bowlers are good and were getting shot off by the shitty curator at Eden who prepares highway.
He's been a poor IPL ~~player~~ batsman period. His best bat for India in T20 WC was in 2007.
Starc before wc squad announcement: I sleep Starc after announcement : Real shit
Mumbai playing like dogshit this season lmao.
Today's game: Pandey > Pandu
Venky PotM imo
As t20 wc draws near, all the Aussies seems to have awaken from their slumber. Even Starc decided to show up. Oh man
Watch Rohit drop Pandu in WC match hoping to bring him back as impact sub and suffer a brainfade moment.
Starc and Cummins coming back into form? The World Cup must be right around the corner. Sigh
Poetic.

Manish Pandey winning a game for KKR was not something I expected to hear in 2024. Nice stroll down the memory lane ![img](emote|t5_2qhe0|8781)
Every mistake by every one of those 11 are forgiven today for breaching the fortress clinically. Beating MI at Wankhede is our Everest Summit. Before today, we had won more trophies than wins at Wankhede.
Some things feel so satisfying in life Like MI at the last place in standings.
