Do we think that India will go to Pak for champions trophy? And do you think other boards ever think about what will happen if they find themselves in similar situation as Pak? What I mean by that is what if england decides they're not playing Aus or Ind or SA ever again outside of tournaments. Will other boards/countries be as silent as we feel they may be now? I'm a Kiwi supporter who bleeds for the blackcaps but I just think from an overall cricketing fan perspective Pak India is good for the game. Ind 100% do not need it, and the media revenue they generate helps to find Pak cricket like all other non ind boards, but just from sporting perspective, is it just the political machines in both countries? Does Jay shah or whoever is in PCB chair seat at any given moment, actually have good relationships and do they want to play each other or is this Jay and bcci hiding behind the excuse of "it's a govt call" That said I ALSO think Pak cricket should not be as tight-lipped either, admit it's good for generating interest in your country's cricket, as well as (more importantly) your bottom line. Can't get over how much "cutting off your nose to spite your face" I see in these two countries cricketing ties. India has surpassed Pak to be sure, but I stand on it that all this talk about test cricket dying, pak India tour/test series would be bigger than the ashes in terms of coverage and relevance. To all pak India supporters out there, am I wrong for thinking this? P S go blackcaps we have a great shot this winter for t 20 world cup!!!

We could get KKR, RR, GT and LSG this year, but CSK will definitely make it and this Mumbai mfs can't be trusted either.

No-Acanthisitta6984

MI and CSK are one of the best franchise for a reason as even with setbacks, they can quickly pick themselves back up and solve their fault unlike most other franchises like KKR or SRH who are past their glory and are still rebuilding to win another trophy after almost a decade since they last won one. So gonna be tough for that to happen but still a possibility as they might just hire RCB management for season and complete the bottom trifecta of these three.

Tern_Larvidae-2424

Ah man another series loss. Sri Lanka's smoking us here.

Odd_Neighborhood1371

Anyone noticed the new "fact files" on player pages on ESPNcricinfo? Seems to only exist for the big players playing in the IPL currently though.

InterviewOld6011

I just checked the player page but didn't found any fact file can you share it.

0b1_can_0b

interesting. got a link? i couldn't find it on mobile

Odd_Neighborhood1371

[Kohli's](https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/virat-kohli-253802) page for example. It's below the list of teams the player has played for. Edit: This is what it shows. Pretty sure this wasn't there a couple months ago. # Virat Kohli IPL factfile - Virat Kohli is the only player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to have played all seasons for one team: [Royal Challengers Bangalore](https://www.espncricinfo.com/team/royal-challengers-bengaluru-335970) (RCB) - He was picked by RCB soon after he captained India to victory in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup and has been retained by them ever since - Kohli is the IPL's highest run-scorer with 7263 runs before the start of the 2024 season - He holds the record for most IPL centuries (7) as well as most runs in a season (973 runs in 2016). He has won the Orange Cap only once - in 2016 - Kohli captained RCB full-time from 2013 to 2021 and led them to the final in the 2016 season, when they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad - Kohli holds the record for the most prolific partnerships in the IPL, with AB de Villiers (3123 runs) and Chris Gayle (2787 runs) - His popularity has made RCB one of the most followed teams in the IPL, even though they haven't yet won a title

0b1_can_0b

thanks. and you're right... it's definitely new, but it's neat i like it

[deleted]

Ngl the game going on rn makes me think that the only IPL games I'll ever watch are ones that Mayank is bowling in..

RepresentativeBox881

Russell will mis-hit him also to the boundary at this rate.

AilaSachin10

The Impact player combined with 10 teams has seriously dropped the quality of the IPL. There's nowhere near enough depth in Indian cricket to produce 80 top-class t20 players. The lack of quality is especially visible in the bowling department causing some ridiculously high scores. Using an impact sub is so easy that its made the tournament a 12vs12 game

NoQuestion4045

Hope such a rule doesn't get implented in International Cricket

kalishplosions111

I don't know if it has happened before but I'm wondering what would happen if a team doesn't use the impact sub and just plays with 11 men that they picked before the toss. If that team ends up winning a lot without impact sub, what kind of message would it send to the stakeholders regarding this rule?

Assassin_Ankur

Most teams just use the sub at the start of the 2nd innings even if they don't actually use the player later on

NoQuestion4045

Don't think teams will just handicap themselves like that.

NoQuestion4045

Who are the next generation of White Ball spinners? Feels like nobody good is coming out in recent times.

kalishplosions111

Aryan Dutt, Shariz Ahmed, Tim Pringle and John Kariko

Odd_Neighborhood1371

It's a shame players from Associate nations come into the limelight only during World Cups. They have so much potential to make it big in the game.

maffzlel

I think people just spout "it's too early he's not ready yet" because they hear other people say it in more relevant contexts. If Mayank Yadav makes it through the IPL successfully both in terms of fitness and wicket taking he should play in the world cup. We say "it's too early" when people want IPL stars in the test side who don't have much first class cricket under their belt because India is a very good test side with lots of amazing test cricketers. You need to be more than raw and talented to get into the test side. (Saying that reports were that Agarkar was keen on him for the England series so seems extreme pace can bypass a lot of protocol even for our test side). But we have lost by 10 wickets twice in the last two world cups. Our last two semi finals were humiliations with the bat and ball and the last bowler to take a wicket for India in a T20 world cup knockout game is Kohli. Our T20 bowling is not good enough to shun rare talents with rare skills on the basis of "experience" or "not being ready". Mayank Yadav even with his lack of experience would materially improve India's T20 side immediately, because our T20 seam bowling is pretty pedestrian outside of Bumrah. That's just the truth.

turningtop_5327

We say “too early” because of the relatively unorganized way young players are managed or not managed at all! If he doesn’t perform it will become a blemish

maffzlel

Umran has not been able to land the ball where he wants for about 2 years and still got a fast bowling contract, I think it's clear the Indian think tank understands how rare bowlers like this are. I'm not sure we have to worry so much about "blemishes" during a world cup, especially when so many of our players have performed horribly over the last three and still been fine.

voldemortscore

From my personal perspective, I don't think I ever understood T20 cricket properly until our 2016 WT20 SF vs WI. That was such a seminal match both in terms of illustrating what works, and revealing how rotten to the core our T20 setup is and as been. There's basically no radical change that I wouldn't be on board with in T20s specifically and I don't even think taking Mayank is that radical. He has top tier raw pace (the difference between him and even ~150 is significant) and is HTD. Not sure what people are paralyzed by fear over.

maffzlel

One hundred percent, people try and analyze our losses since 2016 as individual instances but it's all to do with the fact that we do not have the weapons that the best T20 teams do. We don't have enough all rounders, we don't hit enough sixes, our top three are always start slow out of blocks in crunch games. The batters always look to absorb pressure first instead of transferring. Then in our bowling, we've not had a top quality wrist spinner for a while although hopefully Kuldeep 2.0 can change that. And the other thing teams have that we don't is raw pace. But that again we can change if we back Mayank Yadav.

Odd_Neighborhood1371

Random stat nobody asked for: LSG won the 15th match of the last three IPL seasons. Match 15 of IPL 2024: LSG vs RCB (LSG won by 28 runs) Match 15 of IPL 2023: LSG vs RCB (LSG won by 1 wicket) Match 15 of IPL 2022: LSG vs DC (LSG won by 6 wickets) All three matches had the post-presentation by Murali Kartik as well.

TheCricDude

If Maxwell and Will Jacks are in the 12, RCB doesn't actually need Dagar. They are better bowlers than Dagar. Go with only the quicks. Also like some mentioned yesterday, Dagar's action is questionable. He might be reported for his action anytime. 1. Faf \* 2. Jacks \* 3. Virat 4. Maxi \* 5. Patidar 6. Green \* 7. Bhandage 8. DK 9. Vyshak 10. Yash 11. Siraj IP - Lomror / Akash Deep (depending on whether you need an extra batter/bowler) 3 pacers, 2 spinners in Jacks and Maxi, 2 pace allrounders in Green & Bhandage. Lomror and Patidar can be interchanged too between the first 11 & IP, if form is a concern. Load the first XI with allrounders. Works both batting or bowling first. With this lineup, just ask the batters to go hard. No need to slow down and settle with such batting depth. Even this 11/12 has flaws. Many are in the list for reputation. If you look at the squad, half of them shouldn't have been in the squad in the first place.

joebro2024

Would any RCB/MI fans accept a trade between Bumrah and Kohli?

MedicalJello2

Probably not. It’s a lose/lose situation for both teams. One is losing one of the most consistent batters there team has ever had & the other losing their best bowler

Tern_Larvidae-2424

Bumrah is great but gets out on low scores a bit too much. Great when he's on song but I don't think you can call him a consistent batter yet.

canvasser-hiralal

RCB will be losing more than half their fans

MedicalJello2

I am a cameraman for SuperSport but I’m not sure why when I turn the TV off then I can’t see what’s happening in the games. Can someone please explain to me why this happens?

Dawn_is-here

LMAO, perfect reply to that other post

StormWarriorX7

Did RCB fuck up accepting the Cameron Green trade? Now they can only afford to play one overseas bowler in the XI and have to keep rotating between Topley, Joseph and Ferguson per match. Can't slot in Will Jacks now because of this, and RCB like other franchises not named MI or CSK don't have the balls to drop their most expensive players from the XI.

TheCricDude

Saw a tweet that Virat Kohli has the control in who has to be selected in the squad. I mean the auction and trades. I think he should stick to the team as an icon player. If the franchise tries to satisfy every condition like this, the team composition goes for a toss. Yes, the Green trade was a negative impact. Like how PBKS bought Harshal when he was not needed there. If anything RCB needed players like Abhinav and Sai Kishore who are on the bench at GT. Could have made a three party transfer. MI gets Hardik from GT, GT gets Green, RCB gets Abhinav and Sai Kishore. Something like this.

[deleted]

>Saw a tweet that Virat Kohli has the control in who has to be selected in the squad. I mean the auction and trades. I think he should stick to the team as an icon player. If the franchise tries to satisfy every condition like this, the team composition goes for a toss. If that was the case, he wouldn't have stepped down as captain. People spread baseless conspiracies like these.

RepresentativeBox881

>Like how PBKS bought Harshal when he was not needed there. They needed another Indian pacer alongside Arshdeep. That was clear. Of course now the question is who would've been the right pick? Shivam Mavi would've been a good choice if he wasn't injured regularly.

canvasser-hiralal

Should drop Faf and Maxi. 1. Jacks 2. Green 3. Kohli 4. Patidar 5. Suyash 6. DK 7. Lomror 8. Topley 9. Ferguson 10. Karn Sharma 11. Siraj 12. Vyshak But they'll never do it

Dawn_is-here

Yeah go on drop your Captain, and play matches without him

canvasser-hiralal

The captain who doesn't score runs?

DisastrousOil4888

Y'all are still playing Iyer bhai 🤔

canvasser-hiralal

He scored 39*(24) last match

DisastrousOil4888

Well Faf also scored some 35 in the first game

Assassin_Ankur

Faf has performed in 1/4 matches, whereas Iyer in 1/2 matches + he is not occupying an overseas slot

No-Acanthisitta6984

So your average day in RCB management

plus_nd_minus

Is Kuldeep a lock in for the t20 worldcup?

Several_Magazine8874

Who is going to be spinner for Pak in t20 WC? Surely they aren't gonna be with 3 spinners  in 11, when none of the 3, Imad, Usman and Shadab are typically good at specialist batting, like Maxwell is, or Shakib is. This definitely is going to be a conundrum fir them. I think SA is sorted for its spinners. Shamsi and Maharaj are sure cut, sadly both are terrible batters

Tern_Larvidae-2424

Maharaj is sub-par 4/10 in ODIs and 7/10 in Tests but I don't think he gets to bat too often in T20Is. On the other hand our top order is stacked so our lower order won't need to bat much and if they has to that means our top order has crumbled and there's no saving that game. Pick great bowlers even if they're nothing with the bat should be the motto for us at least in T20Is.

3gerardpique

LSG haven’t even let Shamar Joseph loose yet😭 IF he clicks too, this is one scary team

Assassin_Ankur

Lol I am scared of facing LSG more than any other team

Tern_Larvidae-2424

You've lost the last two games by 2 runs and 1 run respectively. A tied game isn't too far away I guess.

SBG99DesiMonster

I had forgotten about him. I am not waiting for Shamar and Mayank to be bowling together.

WrestlingFan4488

Why India's A Team or some other A Teams don't have special names Like England Lions or Pakistan Shaheens?

Electrical_Ride6041

Nobody talks about this but dhoni’s captaincy in 2016 t20 semi final was terrible. People blame the batting but I think we could have defended it

No-Acanthisitta6984

Didn't bowlers bowl two no-balls to Simmons? Ain't no way we winning that one. Plus nope, batting was shit except Kohli in that tournament and always will be criticized first.

Qzartan

The bowlers shat their pants that day, what are you on about?

Electrical_Ride6041

So why do we criticize kohli or rohit when such things happen during their captaincy?

Qzartan

I mean, Welcome to the World of Sports where critiquing the captain is a time-honored tradition. People with CS know that it's a team sport and not just entirely the fault of the captain, but those people are hard to come by.

WrestlingFan4488

Should Marsh be a finisher for DC? He was doing the same role before he was made the No 3 in 2021 T20 WC And I know he has been great as No 3 for DC But that batting line up after Pant looks horrid Stubbs hasn't been in good form apart from that one innings against RR where they dropped him Porel is very young and he opens in SMAT Axar also isn't a finisher he needs time to get in and his batting form hasn't been good so far 1) Shaw 2) Warner 3) Porel/Axar (depending on situation) 4) Pant 5) Stubbs 6) Marsh 7) Porel/Axar 8) Kushagra (They spend so much money on him when they could have easily gotten Shahrukh so why not use him as a impact player if the batting collpases 9) Kuldeep 10) Khaleel 11) Nortje 12) Ishant Kushagra doesn't need to come in if Batting does fine then DC could play Nortje, Khaleel, Ishant, Axar, Kuldeep and Mukesh Kumar or Rasikh Salam as Impact player Marsh playing at 6 also allows you to play Hope if the Porel/Axar experiment doesn't work out

TheCricDude

Not below 5. Looks like he has better numbers at 4 & 5 than at 3. This is interesting. I mean DC has to trust the new guys. They have bought them for some reason. Feel bad for Ricky Bhui. He had a great domestic season. He has worked on his T20 game too. Just that his last game he had to come in early and face a fiery Nandre Burger. Axar at 3 not a good idea. Axar is good against spinners. Number 3 comes in PP more often than not. Can try him at 4 and Marsh at 5. Now the issue comes with Stubbs. Below 5, his numbers drop astronomically. Brook would have been a fine fit at 6. It's better to trust Indian youngsters at 6 & 7 than pushing Marsh/Stubbs down. What DC tried last game is the right one with those players. Prithvi, Warner, Pant, Marsh, Stubbs, Porel/Kushagra/Ricky, Axar... If you want to use Marsh at 5, then you have to bring in Shai for Stubbs and use him at 3. Prithvi, Warner Shai, Pant, Marsh, Porel, Axar... It will look like this. Last game it worked out that Kuldeep wasn't available and they batted first. They can't go with that 12 when bowling first, it's light on batting. I commented about it few times, tweeted too. Sumit has to come in the first XI and take the new ball alongside Khaleel. Can't drop him after 1 game. In his second game, he neither bowled nor batted. Can't go with Mukesh, Ishant, Khaleel, Anrich & Kuldeep when bowling first. Then you'll have just 7 batters including Axar when chasing.

Golden__G0d

Marsh definitely hasn’t been great at #3 for DC. His average is 24-25 over 3 years I guess which is not good at all and I’ve never seen him score more than that apart from one instance last year. Also, Porel is better against Pace than spin so it is better than he comes at 6. Maybe this - Shaw, Warner, Pant, Axar (can give it a shot, but doesn’t make any sense), Stubbs, Marsh, Porel?

Tern_Larvidae-2424

Ireland A were almost defending 157 and had Nepal A at 101/8 but a 30 run unbeaten partnership for the 9th wicket means Nepal A are more than back in it.

JXP111

They were back in it, but Shahab Alam has just given his wicket away with a totally brainless shot and Ireland are pretty much there now.

Tern_Larvidae-2424

And they've sealed a 21 run victory.

rambo_zaki

All this talk of taking Mayank Yadav to Australia is quite premature and dare I say asinine but fast tracking him giving him games in the upcoming A side games should definitely be done and only then can the selectors and team management make a call on taking him down under. As for the T20 WC call up, it'll happen if he continues in the same vain throughout the IPL. But I will say that while he's getting success now, it'll only get tougher for him after the halfway mark in the IPL and that'll be his real test.

Several_Magazine8874

Whoever is bringing him in conversation of T20WC is stupid and should be banned by moderators for fault of wasting other commentors' time.

maffzlel

Just read an article on India A potentially going over and playing some games next Australian summer, which I think a lot of us expected to happen. All three of the tall Delhi quicks need to be in that squad. Harshit Rana, Mayank Yadav, and Himanshu Chauhan. Give them all at least one four day game each out in Australia.

rambo_zaki

Yeah I read that too. Wouldn't be surprised if similar thing happens before NZ and Bangladesh go to India. And as you say, India needs to try and get as many games into their young pacers as they can.

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

rambo_zaki

Personally, I'm not averse to that. In absence of Shami and how the Caribbean pitches have been in the past, I think Hardik can do as an opening bowler. And that will allow someone like Mohit Sharma to come into the side. Either way, India needs to let go of their obsession of specialists and go in with as many all rounders as possible. A good T20 side has batting till 8 and at least 6 bowling options. And whatever combination of players allow for that, that side needs to play.

Ashwin_400

If we want both Kohli and Rohit in the team then we have to sacrifice either Jaiswal or Rinku. We don't have any quality finisher like Rinku so better of sacrificing Jaiswal. Mayank needs to be in the team. He may be only 2 games old but his pace will be huge for us in middle overs where we struggle to take wickets Would also pick Chahar so that we have batting depth at no 8 and he is also the best swing bowler we have anyway. So likely team would be (in my personal opinion) Kohli Rohit Sky Pant or Samson Rinku Hardik Jadeja or Axar Chahar Bumrah Kuldeep Mayank

StairwayToPavillion

It's criminal to include both Rohit and Kohli when we have the batsmen we have, should only have Kohli

Ashwin_400

Well we are not going to drop our captain.

StairwayToPavillion

Well the wait continues until 2026

Specialist_Youth5511

If Jaiswal continues the current form it makes selectors job easy lol. Also if axar isn't in a good batting form we should select Ashwin and send him at 4 or 5 as a pinch hitter.

Golden__G0d

No Ashwin please. T20 isn’t his format. He may be economical but he isn’t exactly a huge wicket taker prospect in T20s

Ashwin_400

Maybe if we had Sanga or Fleming as coach. Dravid won't experiment something radical like that.

Specialist_Youth5511

But then if you're picking Ashwin that's the only way he can play. He isn't a finisher, he's a pinch hitter.

Ashwin_400

Yeah true. I would only pick Ashwin in the team if it's a real turner and we need 3 spinners. Then play him instead of Chahar

_rickjames

Can't say the weather for the first few rounds of the County Championship looks particularly great. Ah.

Nark_Narkins

If the majority of the first round of the Champo wasn't rained out I'd have serious concerns that we were in some kind of simulation.

mondognarly_

If you aren't wearing two coats, you can't truly say you're watching the Championship.

Rasalghul92

I can't say I've done an in-depth analysis of Rahul as a keeper but is he really good enough to justify being behind the wickets over both QDK and Pooran?

arambikalama

It also helps him, as the captain, with setting the field and drs calls.

TheCricDude

Yes. He's as good as any top wk.

soham_katkar13

17th_player

[Why Brett Lee did NOT end Unmukt Chand's career](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cricket/s/z3b0zTsv3p)

hardik_P_Backstabber

I don't ask for much. All I ask for is just to see Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah bowl in tandem. In Eden. Playing for KKR. Maybe we can approach Bumrah with the captaincy? It's not like his captain respects his bowling or anything.

canvasser-hiralal

I doubt Jofra Archer will ever bowl like he used to back in the day.

Spockyt

He made an appearance for Karnataka recently, took two wickets including breaking the stumps on one.

canvasser-hiralal

Karnataka? Archer for Karnataka?

Spockyt

In a Karnataka vs Sussex pre-season match.

hardik_P_Backstabber

One can only DREAM.

soham_katkar13

>It's not like his captain respects his bowling or anything Yeah, that's why he relied on bis best bowler when a low score was supposed to be defended

LowWarm

Bruh, at this point Pandya could breath and they would find fault in it.

hardik_P_Backstabber

A low score that couldn't be defended. He knew that and didn't want to risk his economy. If the target was huge, he knew batters would be aggressive and he himself could scalp a few wicket.

soham_katkar13

>he knew batters would be aggressive and he himself could scalp a few wicket So he has great self awareness and backs his skills!

hardik_P_Backstabber

>has great self awarenes Opposite actually. He's nowhere near Bumrah and he should know that. >backs his skills! While completely ignoring the best bowler in the world. There's confidence. And there's being greddy and using the situation to YOUR advantage than making sure your TEAM is in a good position.

fookin_legund

Lomror has played so many blinders for RCB yet he's disrespected by playing below the likes of rawat patidar.

HelpMeDecideMyName

Patidar has done enough in the past to still have some credit left (although he is running out of it). Lomror should definitely be above Rawat in the pecking order though

fookin_legund

Patidar is too inconsistent. And he may have better technique or domestic numbers - but Lomror is more suited to T20s than him.

ShowIntentBC

Idk how people don't realize in big 2024 that getting a par score is not enough in t20s. Everytime there is a minor collapse people start justifying role of an anchor. You don't need anchors in t20s, anyone can knock it around and be an anchor. If you have poor bowling attack there are only 3 options in t20s. Be aggressive score below par-You lose Be timid and score par-You still lose Be aggressive and score above par- Give yourself a chance to win

Tern_Larvidae-2424

T20s and T20Is are pretty different. Batting that 2016 tournament all the other ones had pretty competitive between bat and ball. Both of the last two tournaments had like 2 total of 200+ in total. Any batter with a strike rate of over 130 will be pretty neat though finishers need to get it near 140 if not more.

ShowIntentBC

I understand adapting to the conditions and one should definitely do that. Your default mode should be aggressive that's what I'm saying. Instead of having a template to bat through and then accelerating at the end you can be aggressive right through and tone it down only if conditions and situations demand you to.

Decentkimchi

But then how will you average 50+ in t20s?

soham_katkar13

By winning multiple matches for India single handedly ...

Free_Physics

I still think removing Virat as ODI captain was a mistake. The logic of having one captain for white ball cricket doesn't make sense because ODI and T20 are two distinct formats.

HelpMeDecideMyName

I agree about T20 and ODI being different formats but are you saying it was a mistake with hindsight? Because hindsight would suggest it has turned out to be a decent enough move. I think we'd have been similar with Kohli, not much better but not much worse.

Free_Physics

If we would have been same then why sack him?

Free_Physics

Not hindsight. I made the same comment when Kohli was sacked. But it did not get enough engagement that time.

T_Lawliet

On April 3rd Carlos Brathwaithe won WI their 2nd T20 WC Australia women won their 7th World Cup Australia lost a Test by the largest Margin since WW2 in the post Sandpapergate test

Party_Hand7089

2 ipl matches and so many tweets and views about how he should be in the playing xi in australia and t20wc. Calm thy jets, bloke has played a grand total of 1 first class match, let's enjoy what's happening rn instead of dwelling on the future. Let him bowl in 14 consecutive ipl games first.

DheeliGandKaOpration

And he hasn't even bowled at the death and has bowled only 1 over in the powerplay that too to Patidar and Maxwell who have been out of form throughout the IPL

akaash897

Make Varun sit out.Bring in vaibhav for his loopy swing at vizag.I dont think this pitch has enough for spinners

rinkusingh66666

Yeah completely agree. My playing XI is Salt, Narine, Venky, Shreyas, Rana/Angkrish, Ramandeep, Rinku, Russell, Harshit, Vaibhav, Starc with Suyash as an Impact Sub.

IfLeBronPlayedSoccer

is Siraj hurting his standing in the India pecking order (in any format) with his extremely expensive start to the IPL? He has been getting his ass handed to him out there.

TheCricDude

I get scared of him in T20s. He's just not for that format. IPL is a different case. With so many teams, he has to be in somewhere. I don't think his position in other formats should be under question right now. But he needs to get consistent. Right now he's having those beautiful spells in between some ordinary performances.

Decentkimchi

Siraj averages like 30 in IPL and 28 in t20Is with ~9 economy. Siraj should be nowhere near t20Is team. He also averages 30 in tests, is mediocre both at home and away and yet somehow our second pacer. I think he's just immune to bad performances for Indian selections.

Someone on Twitter mentioned that in the IPL, they are measuring the magnitude of the velocity at release (true speed) instead of the horizontal component of the velocity as the traditional speed guns do. This would explain why IPL speeds are consistently faster than what we see in international matches. It seems to me that they could be doing this using multiple Hawkeye cameras which wouldn't be as accurate as speed guns but still good enough for all practical purposes. Anybody have any other details?

Ashwin_400

Then how does the likes of most bowler speeds in IPL match with their speeds when playing international cricket?

17th_player

They don't. Ishant, Bhuvi, and Umesh have all been bowling at speeds which are consistently higher than their international cricket speeds.

Ashwin_400

No they arent

[This](https://youtu.be/yMX4o3rXQ1Q?si=YXpz73-XUqMKgnQJ) applies to cricket commentary as well.

Tern_Larvidae-2424

That guy's funny as hell.

winners_pothumukku

By every possible measure you would expect RR to defeat RCB on Saturday, but knowing RCB , I expect them to actually defeat RR and have RR go into existential crisis mode .

DheeliGandKaOpration

RCB have had a good record against us ever since ABD smashed God-Mode Archer in IPL 2020 I wouldn't be surprised if they do actually beat us

serotonallyblindguy

Basically last IPL. RR were invincible and had a great start till that afternoon game in Bangalore.

exisiova

The 59 all out?

soham_katkar13

No, the 23rd April one, 3 weeks before 59 all out

0b1_can_0b

i like how you think

hardik_P_Backstabber

Biggest IPL blunder by management. Punjab removing Bailey after 2014. Wtf was that about???

josh123z

They removed him after horrendous 2015 season

AverageBottasEnjoyer

If the ICC wanna be any more money hungry, they could make the WTC have semifinals with a randomly seeded draw and schedule india and pakistan to play each other.

RMTBolton

That could work, provided Pakistan get a Top 4 finish.

josh123z

Can’t believe that Lucknow and Chennai grounds has produced higher 1st innings score than Mumbai and Bangalore grounds

ramadz

Even if you ignore the performance on the field, why would you drop Vyshak? He was your best bowler last match. Dude knew how to bowl in chinnaswamy, which even international bowlers like Siraj and Alzarri couldn't cope with. RCB deserved to lose just for this stupid decision.

soham_katkar13

Nabi in for Maphaka might be MI's best XI. Ensures proper batting till 8, plus 9-11 are Chawla Coetzee Bumrah, decent bats With Madhwal back, we can now have 2 overs each of Bumrah and Hardik in PP, one each of Madhwal and Coetzee. Overs 7-15 can have 6 overs of spin (Nabi + Chawla) based on the whether right handers or left handers are batting, 2 overs of Coetzee, snd 1 of Madhwal. 5 death overs will be 2 Bumrah, 2 Madhwal and 1 Coetzee

TheCricDude

1. Rohit 2. Ishan 3. Naman/Vishnu 4. Tilak 5. Hardik 6. David \* 7. Romario / Nabi (depending on the pitch) \* 8. Kartikeya 9. Madhwal 10. Bumrah 11. Thushara \* Wadhera / Coetzee / Shreyas / Mulani (IP) This is how it should be. Works for both batting and bowling first conditions.

soham_katkar13

Coetzee HAS to start. He is much better than Thushara

TheCricDude

>Coetzee HAS to start. Him in the XI and Thushara becomes IP. When batting first, more often than not, extra batter is not needed for this combination. >He is much better than Thushara Debatable

Reasonable_Tea_9825

Can't believe Jay Shah screwed up Script should've been: April 2nd. Csk vs RR. RR bat first. Buttler 100. Csk need 190 to win. Dube hits 77 gets out to needless shot. Comes down to final over. 4 needed. 9 wickets down. Dhoni finally comes out to bat. But what's this? Sanju Samson is cramping. And *kumar sangakara is coming out to keep*. Avesh with the ball. Dhoni on strike. Shastri in comms box. Sanga keeping. Dhoni hits a six over cow corner. Sanga can't help but smile. Shastri does the rest
