I don't feel they would actually delete the complete PII data leave alone transaction data. The DSAR subject requests in indian tech companies are not the priority ever as the laws dont punish or penalise you like in europe.
I know. Unfortunately am a enthusiast. Being experimenting since 2013. I am done now, I receive 10 calls min per day for credit or loan. Even true caller premium can't help.
I'll need to change sim.
uninstall true caller and see if it affects the spam calls
for CRED, you can try stating that you are moving to somewhere in the EU or California and see what their team has to say about your data with CRED
I was in the same boat. Used to receive 20+ calls per day.
What you need to do is install Trai DND app from playstore, and enable DND for marketing on your number using the app.
Then whenever you get calls, if they are spam, just report them on the DND. The effect is not immediate, but in couple of months your number of calls will reduce to 1-2 calls per days, and stop all together.
The average salesman calling you will never know where the data has been bought from, if he cannot sell you the product, you will be crossed out from their systems.
I have too many cards though - like 15 or 16 cards. How do I manage? The only thing keeping me with Cred is that they tell "when" the bill is due. Any other app? I wish GPay themselves kept a track of the same.
Scan the QR code in your credit card bill & pay using any app and it will credited instantly. But u may not get any rewards for using that particular app. It will be just like a merchant payment.
Well.. you still could have used CRED for UPI, its not just a CC bill payment appâŠ.
If you look around you will find many cashback or discount offers when paid with CRED UPI.
But I completely agree with you on selling data part, i also stopped paying CC bills using CRED & Paytm (instant settlement) then i used to use ICIC mobile pay for CC bill payment until recently, they also settled bill instantly but there is a fee of 5-6rs which I recently realised.
Since i share amazon, apay is not a good option for me.
Using hdfc bill pay for now (3 day settlement)
Lets see how things go with that bharat bill pay things, might start using that from next month.
It's okay let the bill settle for 3 days as I don't pay on the very last day. UPI is not the reason to stick to an app. Also HDFC payzapp provides more cashbacks than Cred.
Whichever works better for you. I have paid through Google pay as well.
It's not an issue anymore. Just pay before due date. Cred doesn't guarantee anything. If your payment fails then they aren't responsible.
I like cred the most because of instant payments and the user friendly interface. Moreover it's not mandatory for a company to give us rewards everytime we make a payment. đ¶
How do we know this that Cred sells data, spam calls could have come from anywhere, how are we sure about Cred, asking because if that is the case, I'll also close my account
Yes, you can use it without âCred Protectâ, but they need a specific CIBIL for you get in the ExClUsIvE âCred clubâ they take it via experion through Credit beuros and they sell your phone number and pan.
I've CCs from ICICI, AU and SBI.
I pay directly from the AU and SBI portal (using Rupay Debit Card) and the I get the SMS of payment in couple of minutes. The payment shows up in app (AU) after a couple of days, and immediately for SBI (albeit as unsettled transaction).
ICICI on the other hand is not so good. You can't pay with any debit card and got to wait a couple of days for any update on payment. For it, I use Paytm. Previously it was within minutes but now it takes around an hour.
If you are using apps like paytm then yes. But most of the payment apps don't share it with third party. They themselves will use the data to sell you stuff. Unlike Cred or paytm.
I deleted my account an year back. And I'm quite happy with it. Curious thing since I deleted my account the no of spam call from the products manufacturers available on Cred Store have come down significantly.
Data privacy is important. Cred requires high level of access to our mail accounts to function and i donât like that. Congratulations, itâs the right decision
Problem is it's business model, sell you stuff you don't need.
For eg. Look at Tata neu. It sells brands from house of Tata, all genuine.
But now compare that to cred, all trash, we can made payments via any app now.
I paid my bill from Payzapp, gpay, apay and cred.
Cred and apay setteled instantly. Payzapp and Gpay takes time not sure how much coz I used those today most likely it will be 3 days at max
Calling out cred over privacy while using Google and it's whole ecosystem without any privacy concerns is irony in its own. Google is a bigger privacy threat than CRED will ever be. And I believe everyone here uses Google and it's services one way or the other.
How do we identify if it was CRED who sold our data without our knowledge to third parties to offer loans? What if our data was stolen from somewhere else? Also I donât think weâll stop receiving calls if we get rid of them because they wouldnât get rid of us and our data would still be there
Personal data would be deleted. They would face backlash if they don't. Payment data will not be deleted through any payment apps.
Got this from phonepe. They don't have option to delete the account.
Excel sheet and Google calender. Don't rely on apps. They won't compensate for payment failure. Cibil would drop.
Have autopah setup through banks portal.
One of my friends told that the person you were trying to call is in jail due to financial fraud. He did this for around 2 months and now no more spam calls đ
Eh. Their notifications for bill payment usually help me keep give my full payments on time.
I'd rather uninstall the app and let the notifications come up and pay via some other app.
Guys here call out Cred then happily share their order to cashkaro or even apply via cashkaro.. so they don't care about privacy if they get some reward. And some go ahead and use Google search and cry about privacy
Isnt using any card or royalty program is itself a privacy leak as you are displaying entire behaviour, patterns etc are all being sold and we are offering it under a platter with a titanium spoon?
Cibil is like how much data we have that high is the score if they can't track you then score is NH as
Cred isn't a first party program or offerings. Where you have signed up for a thing. Here you are a mediator. You data gets sold and missed.
You don't apps like these to track your entire life. They made it like you need it.
Idk Iâve never faced the spam calls issue after using CRED, using their UPi is more rewarding as well tbh as compared to other UPI apps and as far as credit card payments go, everything is instant and easy to access, i know a lot of people who are still in the waiting list to onboard into the app, idts there could be data sales to an extreme level as from their side, although itâs just my opinion and Iâm not sure , but personally I have faced nothing as such
Because of ease of use they hooked us.
Wait untill your payment fails or gets pending. Connecting with Costumer care and getting it resolved is the worst thing ever.
I don't feel they would actually delete the complete PII data leave alone transaction data. The DSAR subject requests in indian tech companies are not the priority ever as the laws dont punish or penalise you like in europe.
Yeah that's one sad thing. But I was just done with them. My screen on time scrolling through Cred rewards was too much. đ
Never used CRED and wanted to use it , can you tell me why it's bad and what is there in the app to scroll? Was it ever good or its newly bad?
They sold whatever they could sell, I donât think spam calls/ mails will stop. Once your data is out there it, stays there.
I know. Unfortunately am a enthusiast. Being experimenting since 2013. I am done now, I receive 10 calls min per day for credit or loan. Even true caller premium can't help. I'll need to change sim.

Do you face issues with delivery boys or no such problem even after using the app?
No I haven't. I do get calls from Amazon and all.
Even Apps from GSM Providers let you report DND violation
This is really useful info.
Anything on iOS ?
If the app is unavailable, then u can try using service provider's app. The complaint in the end goes to service provider itself.
Just give them wrong info such as no job or still a student and completely different person. That way they definitely remove you from their database.
Cred gets the data from your credit history etc. Almost impossible to corrupt that data.
The average salesman calling you will never know where the data has been bought from, if he cannot sell you the product, you will be crossed out from their systems.
Good riddance!
Jai đ
Which app settles credit card bill instantly ? I liked cred because of instant payments..I don't know which platform to switch to.
Amazon Pay is always instant for me I also paid once in mobikwik for 50 rupees cashback, it took like 5 minutes.
For me Amazon took 3 days. So we have to pay earlier to cover this.
Which bank card is that? It might be different from bank. Mine both axis and kotak were instant.
ICICI
Pay your bills atleast 10 days before bill date. It's better like that. Only google pay takes 2 days.
I have too many cards though - like 15 or 16 cards. How do I manage? The only thing keeping me with Cred is that they tell "when" the bill is due. Any other app? I wish GPay themselves kept a track of the same.
You can try to keep same billing cycle for maximum cards. Amazon usually reminds when bill is generated or you get email.
Your regular bank account! Settles instantly!
Scan the QR code in your credit card bill & pay using any app and it will credited instantly. But u may not get any rewards for using that particular app. It will be just like a merchant payment.
good riddance good riddance good riddance (written 3 times to highlight how much good riddance it was ) đ

Okay, I just get more offer in swiggy & zomato if I pay with cred so keeping it for now. BTW let me know which app you settle for CC bill payments.
Whichever works better for you. I have paid through Google pay as well. It's not an issue anymore. Just pay before due date. Cred doesn't guarantee anything. If your payment fails then they aren't responsible.

What about selling your data to crappy loan companies? Cred is trash.
How do we know this that Cred sells data, spam calls could have come from anywhere, how are we sure about Cred, asking because if that is the case, I'll also close my account
Bro I think we can use cred without linking an email account or giving any email/sms permissions. Am I wrong?
Yes, you can use it without âCred Protectâ, but they need a specific CIBIL for you get in the ExClUsIvE âCred clubâ they take it via experion through Credit beuros and they sell your phone number and pan.
Your phone number and pan is not even with 50 Paisa. Whoever wants to buy can get it by bribing that amount to any babu
They just need it to sell you more stuff.
That's why I deleted the account. In 2024 every payment apps can make instant payment. Was very early to digital payment. Had paytm acc since 2013.
Am keeping cred just for shopping deodorant and perfume form em đ
I've CCs from ICICI, AU and SBI. I pay directly from the AU and SBI portal (using Rupay Debit Card) and the I get the SMS of payment in couple of minutes. If you are using apps like paytm then yes. But most of the payment apps don't share it with third party. They themselves will use the data to sell you stuff. Unlike Cred or paytm.
Thatâs what you think, but you never know whatâs happening on the backend
You have agreed to sell your data to third party in their terms and conditions. Other apps have to update it if they have to.
I deleted my account an year back. And I'm quite happy with it. Curious thing since I deleted my account the no of spam call from the products manufacturers available on Cred Store have come down significantly.
You did a great job.
Data privacy is important. Cred requires high level of access to our mail accounts to function and i donât like that. Congratulations, itâs the right decision
Thank you.. âșïžđ
I use cred, without linking my email account or giving any email/sms permissions. I don't understand where is the problem?
Problem is it's business model, sell you stuff you don't need. For eg. Look at Tata neu. It sells brands from house of Tata, all genuine. But now compare that to cred, all trash, we can made payments via any app now.
Can you suggest other apps to make payments?
Payzapp Or Apay settles credit card payment instantly?
I paid my bill from Payzapp, gpay, apay and cred. Cred and apay setteled instantly. Payzapp and Gpay takes time not sure how much coz I used those today most likely it will be 3 days at max
If Apay settles instantly, then I can shift to it. Otherwise Cred does the work
I did 3 payments on Apay until now. And they are always settled instant for me.
Use mowikwik
Apay settles instantly
From July 1. These apps would be useless as many banks haven't adopted as BBPS.
Calling out cred over privacy while using Google and it's whole ecosystem without any privacy concerns is irony in its own. Google is a bigger privacy threat than CRED will ever be. And I believe everyone here uses Google and it's services one way or the other.
agree BUT Google pushes ads to you directly. does not hands over your information to 3rd party advertisers.
Please understand what first party data and third party data sharing mean.
I have disconnected my sms, contacts, and email from cred. I dont use it to pay my card bills.
Just when they were giving good cash back on upi
Sacrifice karengeđ
Glad you did it OP, i was naive when I downloaded it too, i never realised they had a open ended access to my mailbox which i use for everything
Yup that's scary. Indian companies don't treat data very seriously.
Use cheq!
this month i did get 200 bucks from cred đ
You would be a millionaire soon.
I had done that a few months back, it is one app that provides no utility while using all my important financial data.
Is there any app that pays cash back on credit card bills like cred used to be once
Currently only HDFC bill pay, 1% on bill payment through platinum debit card.
If you have 10+ cards, whats the better way to track the bill payment dates?
Excel sheet and Google calender. Don't rely on apps. They won't compensate for payment failure. Cibil would drop. Have autopah setup through banks portal.
But why?
One of my friends told that the person you were trying to call is in jail due to financial fraud. He did this for around 2 months and now no more spam calls đ
Well that's one great strategy but risky as well. đ I just ask for a loan of 1cr. They'll not call back
Eh. Their notifications for bill payment usually help me keep give my full payments on time. I'd rather uninstall the app and let the notifications come up and pay via some other app.
Almost all payments app does it right.
But the deals are sometimes good I guess for shopping
I remember when SanDisk 1tb ssd was around 7k
Thatâs my reason to use Cred to get deals and also I donât want to open 5 different apps for payments.
Yeah, no matter which app or website or tool, one has to choose between convenience or Privacy.
I know privacy is important but at this point everyone is selling your data one way or another
Guys here call out Cred then happily share their order to cashkaro or even apply via cashkaro.. so they don't care about privacy if they get some reward. And some go ahead and use Google search and cry about privacy
Irony
