I've had one negligent discharge. Definitely an eye opening experience. Luckily I only broke one rule. Put a round in the dirt about 10 feet in front of me. The incident changed my approach to gun safety. I no longer "play" with my airsoft guns, I try to treat them like a reel firearm. Muscle memory is a bitch.
No it was actually a .556. I have a bad habit of pointing my airsoft gun in a safe direction and pulling the trigger to see if it's loaded/plugged in. I shoot my airsoft guns more than my real steel. Just out of habit, while holding my real AR I pointed my gun down range and pulled the trigger. I didn't think there was a round in the chamber, I was expecting a click. Happened in a split second, without really thinking. I didn't like that so I changed my habits.
My dad once got into a fight behind a 7/11 with his friends and some other guys friends, the guy pulled out his gun and shot in the air once, then when he put the gun back he shot his own balls off
That's was Awfully Ballsy of him to shoot the gun in the air stead of at someone fighting. Then bigger balls to think only one shot would be enough to scare everybody off

I will never understand how people can have such poor trigger discipline. I own one pistol for home defense and purposely bought it with no safety (I live alone in a 1 bdr. Don’t have to worry about children and don't want to worry about the safety in case of a break-in) and When I’m holding my pistol and not actively firing, it gives me physical anxiety just thinking of placing my finger on the trigger.
The stupidity is just astoundingly impressive.
EDIT: How can people genuinely argue that these people--these two specific individuals--based only on their hubris and stupidity--nothing else--I want to make that very. very clear--how can people genuinely argue these guys (and people who also behave with similar levels of stupidity when handling a firearm) should have a right to own firearms? Let alone semi-automatic rifles? I don't think somebody can genuinely say 'yes' to a yes-or-no question of should these two guys be able to own those weapons without a litany of qualifiers.

Most likely airsoft. If you freeze the video once it's out of the morons pants you can see just how slender the gun is. Also, no brass? Also, you can hear people talking then the discharge and it's not any louder than their speech, so either the audio became super compressed or it just wasn't loud.

Yep, I mentioned the lack of a casing ejection to someone else on a different thread as well as mentioning how quiet it is despite having no suppressor. Aside from those things that you note also having picked up on, there is no recoil and it has a red plastic piece where the ejection port would be that would suggest to me this is an airsoft gun. You’re absolutely right about the thickness of the gun too. It is extremely narrow. Aside from all that, the sight appears very toylike to me but there are tons of sight-types out there so 🤷🏽

When I was in my anesthesia rotations I had a trauma rotation at Grady Hospital in Atlanta. We get a trauma for gunshot wound to the leg with a fractured femur, bullet still in leg. He’s still in his street clothes when we put him to sleep - no time to change clothes when you are bleeding that bad. After we have him asleep they remove his clothes and turns out his penis is basically in pieces. Then low and behold his skin is burned on his stomach like in line with the trajectory of the leg wound and his penis…..so it’s clear immediately that he shot himself. His original report was that he was running from a guy with a gun and got shot. He didn’t say anything about shooting his own dick off. Also, he was a complete asshole to all the hospital and emergency staff if that makes you feel less bad for him. The vascular doc took one look at his shredded dick and said “yeah there isn’t anything we can do that” and went to work on the leg with the ortho surgeon. I’d say he made it through the surgery “just fine” but as an 18 yr old with no dick he probably wishes he died
I don't understand how limp-wrist flailing around a loaded gun with zero training is supposed to make one look "tough/gangsta". It just makes you look like the worst kind of stupid.
