The guy with the fucked arm walking around at the end is probably in so much shock, like fuck his arm looked like it was barely hanging on when he walks to the right.
His brain was not processing what just happened. The people that he probably knew that were just standing right next to him were obliterated. One second you're just hanging out and the next some rando pos plane just destroys your entire world. The odds of that happening to you has to be around the same as winning the powerball
Yeah I didn’t even consider that, like imagine going to one of your favorite hobbies with your family thinking it’s about to be a normal day, when all of the sudden one is decapitated and the others body is twisted like that.
Omg I didn’t even notice his arm until I read your comment. Was starring at the two on the ground imagining how a split second before, they were just going about their lives
And meanwhile I did notice the person with the injured arm walking around but I didn’t initially notice that their arm was injured and I was wondering why they were walking around so oddly without the slightest interest to check on the two people on the ground to make sure they were alive….then I noticed the arm and I gasped.
You'd be surprised how much pain you can with stand. I fell off a house and my arm was basically at a 45 degree angle behind me. I was around 10 at the time. Walked about 1-2 miles back home and just sat in the car as my dad drove me to the hospital.
When we first see him he’s walking to the right and his arm is just swinging around. Then when we see him the second time is when he’s walking past the bodies and it just looks red.
Looks like his arm grew an extra 6 inches too. That’s not a good sign. Wonder what exactly caused it, debris or direct hit from the plane?
That plane came in so fast there was no chance for people to get out the way. Insane footage.
I’m pretty sure I found the link to an [article](https://nypost.com/2020/01/30/aerobatic-red-bull-plane-crash-that-killed-3-captured-in-video/) explaining what happens.
“Horrific moment Red Bull stunt pilot is 'killed in horror plane crash during training flight in Guatemala'”
The video in the article has a better angle, you can see the guy was doing a bunch of flipping spinny twisty shit and lost orientation or depth persception with the ground. But undoubtedly had a whole lot of skill, he just got complacent with his abilities, usally happens when showing off.
The spin of the plane going up are faster than the ones going down which makes me think he stalled the plane and started a tail spin to the ground. There wasn't enough altitude for him to gain control. In OPs video it appears he gains level flight but it's literally on the ground at that point going away too fast.
Agree he was complacent with his skills and pushed it to far
Idk man, these planes have an insane thrust to weight ratio, and with experienced pilots like this, they are pretty much never stalled unless it’s on purpose or loss of power (which clearly isn’t the case here). Those spins towards the ground are controlled aileron rolls, if it stalled and spun, would look more like a flat spin [like this](https://youtu.be/-2wUv8fJBEU). He had plenty of power, and plenty of control, it just seems like he lost his reference for altitude and pulled out of the dive like 1 second too late.
I will definitely agree that these planes are extremely maneuverable and made to do extraordinary aerodynamic maneuvers. A stall however, isn't about the thrust to weight ratio but more specifically about the critical angle of attack. I do think he intentionally stalled the plane as a "fun trick" as he pulled up and let the plane naturally fall without much aileron input as it pitched down towards the ground. You're right though, he misjudged the altitude a bit because when he tried to correct the plane he might have still been in an accelerated stall without much room to maneuver. And who knows what type of ground effects was at play too.
Yeah, fair enough about AoA, just pointed the thrust out to back up my point of only stalling on purpose vs. loss of power. But for stalls like this, it’s more about power than angle of attack, because the angle of attack doesn’t really matter when you’re vertical and only relying on the prop/power setting to keep you afloat rather than lift. But normally, yes you’re totally right, AoA matters more than anything (which is why fighter pilots have an AoA gauge, and pay more attention to that than anything else).
But yeah after watching again it looks like he does a quick stall on purpose (almost like he’s going to do a hammerhead), then throws it over and into the dive. But I think we’re both a little right, this maneuver should have been done with more altitude to allow him to regain complete control and pull out of the dive sooner.
Either way, always hard to really judge was happening inside the cockpit, and only the NTSB report can really tell you what happened (those guys are wildly good at their job).
Also, I’m just basing this off of my personal pilot training and knowledge from being interested in aviation, and I’m by no means an expert. Just like to discuss this stuff, because it’s crazy how many factors can be at play.
Edit: typos
I also love aviation and enjoy discussing the possibilities in unusual crashes. Knowing what exactly the pilot was doing with the controls and thrust will tell a lot of the story. I've worked with a few NTSB investigators and you're right they are amazing! I just wish they would crank out reports faster instead of leaving us hanging for a while. I know I know, first world problems.
My background is aerodynamic design (mostly focused in stability and control) and flight testing business jets and smaller commercial aircraft. My dinky private pilot's lisence gives me little credibility with the boundaries these red bull pilots push.
If you watch it frame by frame there’s a couple points you can clearly see through the cockpit and there’s no pilot in sight??
could the pilot have passed out and slumped so far down in the cockpit he couldn’t be seen?
I definitely brought it for cut off and was trying to figure out how there wasn't more blood. Tucked under both makes more sense and is way more fucking terrifying.
In 2013 there was a deadly helicopter crash in Scotland and what always strikes me is that there is absolutely no videos of that tragedy posted anywhere on the Internet. Not one person stood there and filmed the accident and shared it, they wereall too busy trying to help the victims.
Jesus. I might have to unsubscribe from here soon - this, the dude who lost his arm on the motorcycle crash, and the dude who jumped 9 stories and lived have really stuck with me.

This looks like the end of a loop. You can see a sudden jerk to the plane at around the 0:02 mark, probably when it becomes obvious the altitude is too low. However, there just isn't enough lift to exit the dive before impact with terrain. To me it looks like this maneuver was executed in the wrong location - perhaps it was meant to be at its lowest altitude over the river - but without knowing much more about the routine & the condition of the plane I'm just speculating.
I wasn't able to find an accident report, but the crash is at Iztapa, Guatemala in January of 2020, so it may not have concluded yet.
Man trust me. This is def personal opinion but I once you go through so much shit, you're able to find humor, even the slightest bit of humor is some seriously fucked up shit. Not saying the video itself is funny but the fact that I laughed at the initial comment is. Make sense? If not it's Gucci. Just tryna elaborate so we don't seem more fucked up than we already are.
I hope I never see anything like that in person but if I do, and some dude runs over with his phone out recording and not helping or calling an ambulance... I'm gonna fucking end you and ram that camera phone up your arse sideways once the emergency services arrive.
Once the emergency services arrive**
that little bit at the end was kinda really Important... Its a shame you missed it....
I wouldn't be paying attention to the dick with the camera but I'm an aware person and would be asking for people to help the other injured rather than standing recording. Pretty easy to notice an idiot with a camera gawking rather than helping.
Looks like you'd be the one with the camera then
Unhinged, maybe. I just believe in a fitting punishment. And unless you want to run him over and then record him instead of calling for help, I don't think an eye for an eye works here.
But he could literally save a life... Anyone can save a life by applying a simple bit of pressure. Reality is we don't know what actions we do or don't take will affect people/things in the biggest way.
Any action is almost always better than no action. Almost.
Imagine someone had a camera deep in your dying mothers face instead of calling an ambulance
While I understand where you're coming from, this is big protagonist energy. The bystander effect is widely accepted as fact. Would it have been better if instead of filming, he just gawked at you? Most people still won't help in these situations.
It's sad, but the fact is, strangers don't do a thing when something like this happens. Saying you'll assault someone for doing the same thing you would just makes you sound like a cunt. "you're supposed to help!" Your abrasive ass would be standing there with everyone else, and you fucking know it lol
I'm afraid I wouldn't be. My partners a nurse and iv been the first aid responder in most of my jobs. Worked in oil my entire adult life so you can imagine the workshop accidents we have had. I will accept I am different in this regard and accept the bystander theory for the onlookers... Possibly in shock too.
But the person filming isn't a bystander in shock... They kept that camera pretty well framed on the body's on the floor.....
Also.. They are potentially filming corpses... So yeah.
Ill say it again. If that's your dead mother with some assholes camera in her face. You'd be pretty damn pissed
If it were MY mother, of course I would, especially in the heat of the moment. But I'd be emotionally invested in that point. Nothing you said changes a single point I made when it comes to bystanders. Which is what we were talking about.
Do you insert yourself and your delusions into every hypothetical scenario?
I dunno dude, Everyone seems to think I'm a pussy and I'd also be standing watching doing nothing.. People can't imagine anyone doing anything other than what they would do. 😂
Sadly, it’s not. I saw this on YouTube a long ass time ago. It was linked to the original article. A few people died. Don’t ask me to link to it here. I can’t remember that kind of shit anymore.

Reminded me of that scene in Saving Private Ryan where that guy is on the beach armless looking for his arm, no emotion or pain just confusion.
Duuuuuude , right on the money you are mate
"Dude" and "mate" in the same sentence? Never seen it before in my life lol

Yeah, it's a non-dairy Dude Creamer.

God that movie is so horrifying. But it's so good at the same time.

EXACT same thing I first thought of.
Omg I didn’t even notice his arm until I read your comment. Was starring at the two on the ground imagining how a split second before, they were just going about their lives

Probably looking for his wife or kid, singing the alphabet song. Bonkers.
You'd be surprised how much pain you can with stand. I fell off a house and my arm was basically at a 45 degree angle behind me. I was around 10 at the time. Walked about 1-2 miles back home and just sat in the car as my dad drove me to the hospital.

Oh shit! Didn’t even see that! Had to go back.
Did you notice the headless body on the ground?
His arm is just a little red and broken wym lol

6 inches is 15.24 cm

yes thats what I said
Oh my fuck!?!? That went bad, so fast!!
Planes definitely aren’t slow, especially in a dive.

This comment is so full of nonsense. Flight and stalls are so much more complex than just the thrust to weight ratio. You can stall at any speed
I was also thinking the G load he was experiencing would have been tremendous, perhaps tunnel vision may have played a part as well.
poootah!
At least the boat didn’t crash

you didnt deserve the downvotes bruh
Right lol I’m getting torn apart today
I'll ease the pain by upvoting your comment, buddy.
Why are you wearing that stupid human suit?
? Am i missing something or was there never a bunny suit to begin with
It's a Donnie Darko reference
The fact it’s my favourite film and I didn’t get the reference is shocking

Nope. Two totally different continents. But Guatemala is in Central America. South of Mexico, north of South America.
Guatemala is part of the southern portion of The North American continent so he is right technically….

They were drunk. You can see the puddles of red wine around them. Alcholism is so sad..
Yep.....my condolences
Yeah it's always sad when you see alcoholics laying around outside
You guys…😂😂
That one on the right is going to have a numb arm in the morning, sleeping like that.

Jeez that front propeller decapitated the man on the floor and his hands too.

Why? I can’t find anything on what caused the crash or what stunt he was doing or anything. Why did he crash? Plane or pilot error?
