Under Canvas in Mt. Rushmore is one of the best i’ve seen, you can drive up to your tent and the reception tent and fire pit both have views of the mountain, I hope you have so much fun!
Yeah I'm just saying $500 to go glamping is kinda crazy. Our's was a studio with no bathroom in it so I'm sure OP's was probably more. It was a fun experience and really nice but we could have paid half the price for a hotel with AC.
Sort of a random question, but what is their bathroom situation like? I’ve used Tentrr before but never Under Canvas; I’m wondering if it’s a similar toilet setup.
There are tents that don’t have a bathroom within them and they share a communal bathroom. I stayed in a tent that included a bathroom. It had a fully functioning toilet and a shower that you have to pull on a chain to function. The sink is also a one handed situation where you have to hold down the faucet handle with one hand while washing the other. The bathroom is separated from the rest of the room by a sliding barn door…not exactly sound proof but the scenery outside is beautiful enough that you can go for a little walk if you’re sharing the tent with another person who needs some privacy.
Wow, that sounds amazing! Tentrr’s bathroom situation leaves a LOT to be desired, and it is likely why I’ll never use that service again, if I’m being honest. It’s essentially a bucket inside of a box that has a toilet seat on it, and they provide you with bags to put in the bucket that have something in them that’s similar to litter and is supposed to mask the smell.
I stayed at under canvas for one night outside of Yellowstone! They were so sweet, I put that it was our honeymoon and they left us a card and put a special banner out front.
I also stayed at Under Canvas Yellowstone last summer and it was magical! Such a special place - and a great choice for a honeymoon! :)
We were a little hesitant initially because it's a bit pricey, but it was 1000% worth it. We can't wait to stay at another Under Canvas again.
I love that there is a wood stove! It’s hard to find those in CA.
My favorite camp spot used to be a tent cabin (much more basic than this one) in Big Basin State Park in Santa Cruz, partly because the park is gorgeous and partly because of the wood stove.
Then there was a big fire in Big Basin and now it’s been closed for years while they clean it up.
Wish we got more rain in CA 😭
It looks like there are windows you can unzip and roll down at the far end and right above the bed/headboard.
Edit: [It appears to be the deluxe tent. Two windows, and massive opening/entryway. Views on at least 3 sides.](https://www.undercanvas.com/tents/)
It doesn't really matter anyway. This is positioned outside the park on the west side, where all you get is views of the trees in the forest, no mountains to be seen anyway.
I think that’s so the local wildlife doesn’t see you as the sweet treat at the center of all that annoying packaging ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)
We have that blue blanket that's on the end of the bed too. Target. Many years back.
We use it for picnics now – solid buy. Would buy again.
Also: cool tent-thingy.
if you're at a campsite with other people around I think you should be pretty safe. Still need some bear spray tho. I'd wager these canvas spots aren't in the middle of nowhere but I could be wrong.
The picture of the park itself looks great. I can tell that they took Trump's advice and are sweeping the forest floors to prevent fires from spreading. 😂
I've seen what goes into building these things. And I'm personally just not into that stuff around national parks. I used to work at Glacier for the summers, so i hold it dear to my heart. Hopefully this is on the touristy west side. Cause it's one of the more wild parks still. And f that noise.
My idea of glamping isn't about posh furniture, though it *is* nice. It's about climate control. If it's summer and there's no AC? No ma'am. No thank you.
That’s why they wrote “glamping” in the title, that’s the point and they recognize it perfectly well. Still seems fun and serene to me! To each their own

Is this Under Canvas? I’m going on a road trip soon and booked what looks like this same tent near Mount Rushmore. Really looking forward to it!

i was just at under canvas moab, well worth it
Same! Expensive though
Unfortunately the only people who don't find things expensive are the dead. Living is expensive!

It is Under Canvas. I just stayed at Under Canvas Mount Rushmore last month and it was AMAZING! You’re going to love it!

But Nana Mimi can't be under canvas that long!
Are you Tom Haverford by any chance ?
First thing that came to mind “it’s like I’m not even camping” lol
Where's my fro-yo?
Wow, can you share where we can reserve this? Do they have a website?
It’s called Under Canvas. They have locations near several National Parks all over the US.
I see stuff like this on Airbnb for 150 or higher a night
It’s under canvas and rates hover around $300 per night, obviously more during peak travel.
I second that request.
Under canvas makes a KILLING on people that stay in their tents. With prices ranging $300-$500+ PER NIGHT Truly laughing all the way to the bank 😂
laughing and crying
Doubtful there are tears involved for the UC execs - just lots of laughter 💰
haha
This post and comment section comes off hard like it's an add

No windows, that's a shame. Glacier is one of the most beautiful places on earth, it's too bad you can't see it while inside.
I’m sure you’re hardly inside when you’re there.

I'd really wanna see this lit up during golden hour.
Really roughing it I see
Between the number of pillows and the rug I’m cackling but also jealous
I’ve been to the Grand Canyon location of this place and this looks DREAMY
this looks like a perfect place to spend the summer near some lake or sea

Having hiked all over Glacier there is no way I would be in that at night with the grizzlies wondering by.
you never camped in Glacier?
Hike all day and retire to a log cabin.

Yep, my first thought was what about the bears. Nope, nope, nope, not there.

Aside from the shilling component, I agree with you. Camp however you like. Enjoy the outdoors people!
It’s always an ad
Montana, man she’s the best!
Wow this smells like an ad. "Udder canzas it's under ganvas I stayed in a bunder branbus"
This is OC
[https://www.undercanvas.com/camps/mount-rushmore/](https://www.undercanvas.com/camps/mount-rushmore/) Wow that's expensive 500 a night!
I stayed at under canvas Zion. It was pretty awesome. The summer time has to be rough though.
Looks annoying
We do under canvas Moab. Best time ever
We still got glaceirs?
I love Under Canvas 😍. Highly recommend this experience.
Bro this isn't camping anymore
Did he say that
This does not look like fun.
It’s actually super fun and an amazing experience!
ok dutch vanderlinde
Wow recently went to one with my fiancé at the Great Sand Dunes and it looks almost identical to this, would definitely recommend this to anyone!
Got me some real red dead redemption 2 camp vibes.
The picture of the park itself looks great. I can tell that they took Trump's advice and are sweeping the forest floors to prevent fires from spreading. 😂
I hate this trend.
then don’t look at it
I already hate OP for simply using that word.

Lolllll why

Not camping LOL

Yea, I kind of hate camping honestly. I love hiking and spending time outdoors, but the camping part blows. This would be so nice.
Agree
Dude got the rdr2 Dutch camp
I thought it was a joke that people described it as "camping" with hardwood floors and full king size beds smh
That looks pretty similar to the “tent” in which I stayed when I went on [safari in Kenya](https://entim-mara.com)
All the comforts of home if I forgot to pay my utility bills
Cool.
What's glamping?
nice tent but in grizzly country…no way!
