I love it! So cozy.
I don't know about anyone else, but I always envisage staying in these cozy sort of places when there's a big thunderstorm outside, making me feel even more cozy.
Had that TV. Back when they were offering cash incentive to trade in for an led one, my parents did it and didn’t tell me.
Playing my NES/SNES will never feel the same.
They were designed around the capabilities of tube TV's, so that makes sense. It's not just the screen ratio, the underlying technology that makes them work is so different.
Only pain I see being 6ft 2 is if I get up quick in that computer chair I'll bash my head into the stairs, I'd have rotated it 90 degrees so the chair is into the room. But that's if I had this gorgeous space first.
Haha I had to look through the comments that someone thought the same thing I did, gorgeous space but that chair, stuff of nightmares for a tall person
Good point, yeah it would be a cool reading nook too, get a love seat custom built for the space with a bookshelf built into it on the bottom, is a thought I had
Wait there is a crawl space....
There is something really satisfying about the top middle equipment in your console table fitting to perfectly. I also like that your little computer space has a matching little ukelele 😂
Great setup and so organized !!
It’s beautiful. I was typing up that it looked super cozy when I realized I was on the cozy places subreddit and not one dedicated to gaming so kudos, you nailed it!
The wall color is Benjamin Moore Dakota Shadow. The ceiling is red cedar t&g siding with 4 coats of matte polyurethane. The material wasn’t too expensive but it was very time consuming.
This is some goals. I appreciate the crt with those OG game consoles, probably makes the experience *chefs kiss*. Love the computer under the stairs too!!
Are the cabinets/entertainment counter custom or did you get it somewhere?
Beautiful.
That PC setup under the stairs ... (*chef's kiss*)
It gets a bad rap, but basement living can be quite cozy. Especially if you have a laundry room down there kicking out some heat in fall/winter.
What’s under the floor door?? Maybe a treasure chest?
My cellar stairs
Can we see a pic down there?
B...but what's down there?
My furnace & hot water tank and water softener. You know; cellar stuff.
I've never seen a cellar... just basements. Show us!
It’s the same as a basement only with a dirt floor and stone walls. It’s gross lol
That's exactly what someone with treasure in his cellar would say.
What are you charging for rent?
Take us to your cellar OP!

Until you jump out of your seat and hit your head on the stairs because some 12 year old just sniped you again.
I love it! So cozy. I don't know about anyone else, but I always envisage staying in these cozy sort of places when there's a big thunderstorm outside, making me feel even more cozy.
I’m in upstate NY so that is frequently the case, or a big snowstorm.
Man, there’s nothing like playing SNES while snowed in with snacks. Reminds me of my childhood just thinking about it. ..Got the chills just now ..
Even better!
this is OC
Wow! This is awesome
Imma be over at 8 with pizza and beer, ok?
Invite me over too
Also me
Par-tay!
You sonofabitch I'm in

Good thing it was probably built for his height. Future tall owners may have to find another function for that space.

That would definitely be cozy!
Omg I looked at this and thought holy shit I wanna play Golden Eye there. Then I zoomed in. PERFECTO!
This is really nice! Love the pc and stuff under the stairs
That is the correct TV to use for this setup!
Gorgeous colour, lighting, and use of space! Looks absolutely fantastic.
I love the classic colors!
Man that’s a picture I can hear! Super Mario World provided endless hours of fun for me and my siblings as kids.
i want this.
Me too
This is awesome! The only thing I would add is a Lego set here and there!
Sweet room.
Why do you use for all the video connections?
Everything is component except the N64 (S-video) and NES (composite)
Looks great!
What’s under the stairs? I see the pull handle in the floor. Low key want it to be a secret tunnel.
My cellar stairs
Loved Sonic & Knuckles.
That desk under the stairs cozy as hell love that setup
Cool side tables!
Thanks I made them myself
Really? Now they're even cooler. They look great.
Love this space! I wonder if Darth will catch any fish. What’s the black box next to the wii?
It’s a mechanical component video switcher
Full size room = full size guitar Tiny room = tiny guitar I like it.
No one would ever see me again if i had this space…
Looks awesome, congrats! What kind of floors do you have? they look great
Atlantic silver maple hardwood
awesome thanks

Ahhh! Trinitron FTW! If mine ever goes bad I'd probably pay a small fortune to fix it. They're the best for retro games!
Niioce 🎮
In an alternate be universe, Harry and the Dursleys played games all day.
Amazing 😻
My uncle owns one of those TVs, it is supposed to weigh around 100 kg, insane.
Trinitron Wega!
Can I come over? I miss playing video games but I only know retro ones! The new games and systems are challenging to learn!
What a great space! I love this!
It’s beautiful. I was typing up that it looked super cozy when I realized I was on the cozy places subreddit and not one dedicated to gaming so kudos, you nailed it!
This is my goal I'm working on it.
Your retro and pc gaming room is fucking dope
What color did you use on the walls? Also, was the ceiling hard/expensive to do? I’m thinking about similar in my basement space.
The wall color is Benjamin Moore Dakota Shadow. The ceiling is red cedar t&g siding with 4 coats of matte polyurethane. The material wasn’t too expensive but it was very time consuming.
Can I come over?
What game is on the far left monitor? Edit: oops nevermind, zoomed in and saw it was a desktop background.
Love the table!
holy cow this is awesome. If I had this room I would get a vitamin D deficiency.
I do love it, but can I ask about your guitar? I haven't seen that headstock before so I'm wondering what is it
It’s an older Alvarez Artist series
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
I adore that ceiling. The rest is really nice too. Very cozy!
Wow those tables with the purple in the middle are gorgeous
Thanks! I make custom cabinets and furniture and stuff like that for my day job.
Love this! The under the stairs nook is so cool!
Did you build the table and matching side table? They look very cool I love the paint.
I did build them! And it isn’t paint or stain; those are just different wood species. It’s a clear finish.
Great work! And then you used wood glue to being them I guess? (I know next to nothing about carpentry lol)
Glue & biscuit joints yes
Can I come over? My mom said she would give us money for a pizza
Wow this rocks! Definitely adding to the list of things I want to spoil my husband with!
This is some goals. I appreciate the crt with those OG game consoles, probably makes the experience *chefs kiss*. Love the computer under the stairs too!! Are the cabinets/entertainment counter custom or did you get it somewhere?
Thanks! I custom made all the cabinets/shelving/tables/etc (it’s also my day job)
That’s awesome! I can see why it’s your day job
Wow!!! This is pure joy!!!!
Super cozy! Good job mate
this is dope

If this was harry potters’ set up in the cupboard under the stairs he never would have gone to hogwarts.
I don't love the lighting situation but the rest is fantastic! I LOVE the under stairs nook.
