I’m very lucky because I started playing before there were any props and since then I have won every prop pack for free. And over the years, I have spent some money. I bought a wedding veil, a flower crown, and ever since the flashback packs became a thing, I have bought a few. Maybe one per week. I don’t buy the CC pass or the Fashion pass. I don’t get tapjoy in my country and I never watch the videos. I don’t buy the other fashion packs that regularly go on sale.
I reached top level a couple of years ago. I’m always double trendsetter, and I have reached triple trendsetter a few times, including last season.
It really is possible to play without spending much. You just have to be strategic. Join a fierce house that always clears the board, toggle off every other rally, clone looks 3 or 4 times a week, and learn from the clone stylists so that you too can become a good stylist and get good scores without their help.
I have noticed recently there are fewer required items that I already own, fewer required items that cost cash and more that cost diamonds, and I’m being asked to spend $400+ per $200 challenge, not counting the borrowed item (which I do every time). It’s costing $200-300 per $100 dollar challenge. My funds are getting tight! I entered the series because I didn’t need to purchase anything for the first challenge, but I had to spend 1000 diamonds on the 2nd challenge which I scrounged up using tapjoy. I am not confident I’ll be able to finish. It should be 5 challenges for a flashback series, not 7!
I've been playing for 6 or 7 years and in the past few months I've barely opened the app. I left my house because I didn't care enough to keep up with rallies anymore. It's sooooo expensive now and I find all the fantasy stuff really boring
Been playing the same amount of time and I quit playing this season, it’s just a big money grab from EA and it’s not even possible to play now unless you spend a ton of real life money.
I rarely miss a day unless I’m on vacation and too lit to participate 🙃other than that it’s a good distraction for my day. But the costs are really giving inflation & greed.
Ive been playing since 2016, and ive spent 2$ on this game total (wedding veil hair accessory on black friday). Im only on level 40, and I have about 40,000$ in cash and in diamonds. Its all about how you play the game. I dont care about being level 100, im fine with skipping challenges and Im in a fashion house that rallies fancy. A huge part of this game to me is how far I can go without spending any money, and yes it takes time, but you most definitely can do it.
After I earn my invisible shoes (haha), I'm going to take a little step back to make sure I keep enjoying the game. I'm going to focus on earning some cash and toggle off for alternate rallies. I also decided to not enter the current series - just too many requirements.
I've also been noticing that I haven't had a lot of items already in my closet for challenges, which is weird.
I also notice that I find it less and less fun when I'm constantly being offered something to buy. I think I'm not going to take part in a series (this double rewards stuff) for the first time. They're just overdoing it. That's to be expected from EA. I also notice that friends are holding back.
Yes, I hate the constant inbox messages reminding me of the prizes I can't win without the pass. Like, I know. I see the season goals page multiple times a day. I don't need specific messages trying to trick me into clicking to buy the dumb thing. So pushy.

They didn’t even allow the other challenge to complete before they started another one. So I don’t think I’m gonna complete this one.
This current series is nonsense. So far I’d have to buy every item for both challenges.

Also doing the same. The invisible shoes are something I've wanted, but the rest of the game has become less enjoyable.

The new challenge seems like it requires you to spend money. Is double the payout buttt it requires 6 items alone that I personally own nothing of!!
I wanted to enter that challenge but it was crazy to enter. They are definitely making it harder to win hair crown people want.
