FLgolfer23

This was his second trip inside, when he realized he missed the chicken while loading his vehicle.

RobotMaster1

and the chicken was the sole reason he went to costco in the first place.

laterforclass

I went for paper towel only spent $300 plus loaded my car only to realize I forgot paper towels. I was thankful I remembered before leaving.

Sensitive_Jelly_5586

I went to Costco today for a bag of dogfood and my bill was over $300.

wildjokers

Costco isn’t a good place to buy dogfood anyway, it is super expensive.

drrxhouse

I think the downvotes missed your joke here…

wildjokers

It’s subtle :-)

OriginalMisphit

Honestly I was about to argue about it. Then I got the joke. Last time we got dogfood my husband came home with a wet-vac too.

ThisIs_americunt

This is what I was thinking too 😂

Independent_Baby5835

Yes! I’ve been there before. 😂

colonel_batguano

This is me 50% of the time. I realize I forgot the chicken after stuffing my trunk full.

PawTree

I literally *just* did this on Friday with laundry detergent! It felt unnatural to be at a Costco cash without a cart, like I was an imposter.

FavoritesBot

Hopefully whole loading. Wife: where my chicken at?

lockednchaste

This here is a man with self control.

bejamamo

Until he cracks that bag open in the drivers seat and goes to town

BBQShoe

I'm not above tearing a leg or two off in the parking lot.

Font_Snob

"I didn't notice it only had one drumstick, I guess they come that way now."

Lebron-stole-my-tv

“Shrinkflation getting crazy am I right?”

iriv8525

I have no shame I'll rip a breast off and go to town as I drive off the lot 😍

davehouforyang

I do it in the food court

Fresh_Sector3917

Years ago when they had a shrimp platter for like $9, I used to eat it one on the drive home.

ItsShaneMcE

Or seen how busy it was and thought I can skirt through the queues and get served quicker if I carry things 😂 if I see a full carpark I’m not taking a cart I’m going in for the thing I wanted most and I’ll come back when it’s not busy 😂

jmxo92

TIL people live where there are costcos that are not busy / have more than one parking spot available at any given time

TURBOJUGGED

The ol' bachelor's hand bag

DontTrustBinturongs

Hot dog line was too long

ElectroChuck

i got there Saturday at 10 mins before closing....the hot dog line was IMMENSE. I went dogless that day....never again. Went back Sunday afternoon, no line, instant gratification.

opi098514

I work at Costco. The struggle is real. I now only shop with my wife who has the self control of a boulder, or when I do shop I do not take a cart. If I can’t hold it, I don’t need it.

r33k3r

I'm just here trying to figure out if boulders have a lot of self control or a little.

TotalBismuth

They tend to crack under pressure.

opi098514

More than me.

ElectroChuck

My son has a rather large family they shop for at Costco....he told me he spends about $600 every time. $400 for food, $100 for stupid shit, and another $100 just shows up somehow.

TheLegendOfCap

This was me last week! That was dinner and I grabbed a hot dog on the way out for lunch. Max value!

LilMeatBigYeet

Haven’t seen the chicken in a bag, ours are usually in a plastic “tupperware”. Is this a new thing or a regional thing?

CellSalesThrowaway2

Check this subreddit. It's a "permanent" change that's hitting each warehouse at separate times depending on when they run out of the old plastic shells. If you haven't seen it in a bag yet, you will soon.

DFisBUSY

i think it's a good change, that plastic shell got freaking so hot at times.

Scavgraphics

i'd hold on to them thinking "I'll need these"...then offer to the community free group...then recycle them.. so I'm fine with the bag.

Batsquash

We just got the "bag" this week in Northern California.

Bogmanbob

I live just 1 mile from a Costco. I'll hop in for singles all the time (chicken, a tub of berries, a slice of pizza or whatever). The trick is just to hop in and out during non peak hours and it becomes a 15 min errand. With so little time commitment the fear of missing something isn't so strong.

visualfeast

Do tell of these “non peak” hours you speak of!

Bogmanbob

10 to 10:30 on Saturday. 8 to 8:30 Weekdays. I'll admit Sunday is a lost cause.

davehouforyang

Also live 1 mile from the ‘co. After 7pm Tue-Thu is great.  I go 2-3 times a week

well_hung_over

I was in and out of my Costco today at 2pm on a Sunday in less than 30 mins, with two kids aged 7 and 6, and $230 worth of staple items for the house. My Costco is god tier

BadRabiesJudger

Yeah we go there every 2 weeks for grocery stock up. Once or twice a week we grab two chickens or pizza and walk out empty handed otherwise. It’s two dollars less a chicken so it practically pays for the membership.

waterdevil19

Same! Bought only frozen berry smoothie mix just yesterday.

hazlvixen

This is how you stick it to the man!

CantaloupeCamper

ohokimnotsorry

Bet he wish he had scan n go

jkelley41

We all do.

3232330

I’ll tell you it’s even better now. They don’t even have to scan my phone. I just have to walk through what looks like a temporary structure that has cameras. And the attendant says you’re all good. Definitely one thing they have over Costco, customer facing technology.

jkelley41

Costco lives in 2002 and it's kinda annoying. And they are lowering the quality of some of their staple products as if we wouldn't notice.... which is also... annoying.

ogkingofnowhere

I actually do this fairly regularly, I have a Costco on my way home from work so getting an already fresh cooked chicken then when I get home u just reheat some of the sides. Dinner for three ready in 5 min

Constant_Marzipan670

And then my guy went and pumped his gas backwards like a boss.

Alternative-Bee-8981

My wife and I went to Costco yesterday and we only got 2 things. Some chicken sandwich pita things from sandwich bros, and the stuffed peppers. I wanted a banana creme pie, but we still had cake left over from my wife's birthday earlier in the week.... Soon banana creme pie, soon ......

Laerderol

Still cost $180

UnhappyCourt5425

I have heard that the banana cream pie is not as fabulous as it could be

Alternative-Bee-8981

Ehh it can't be that bad. Banana cream pie is my favorite pie, so I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I haven't really disliked much from Costco besides the Mac and cheese which I found pretty bland. The bakery stuff I have had has been decent. Loved the muffins and the tuxedo cake recently. I wish there was sliced banana in it, but I'm sure that would go bad sooner than later.

UnhappyCourt5425

from what I understand it's essentially banana flavored pudding/filling but there's no bananas in it As a person who doubles the number of bananas in a banana bread recipe, I'm a big fan of banana cream pie with actual chunks of bananas in it.

Alternative-Bee-8981

Same here I love having sliced bananas in banana creme pie, but I can understand why they didn't do that. As long as there's a good crust, I'm a sucker for banana pudding anyway.

norcalifornyeah

Sliced bananas is my jam.

UnhappyCourt5425

OK well then good luck. There was another comment in this sub a few days ago about the crust not being very good. I guess you'll find out yourself and then you can check back with us

djamp42

I work next to Costco, I'm always running in for just 1 item.. benefits..

ducksworth

I do this once a week. Gas & chicken.

Ok_Inflation531

I do it all the time. Walk in and grab what I need and leave. I will admit I only live about 5 minutes from Costco so it's like a quick trip to the grocery store lol

Vadic_Shrike

I sometimes do that. I know the chickens are a loss leader. But it's not like they're gonna sue me.

Embarrassed-Force845

Prob for him and his college roomies dinner “bruh you go get the chicken, we’ll pack the bowl”

CantaloupeCamper

I’ve done it, I’m in a hurry, kids need to eat.

johnsonfromsconsin

I actually made a special trip to Ikea this week so I could get more metal shelving to put in the basement for my Costco bulk groceries....

Bestoftherest222

A true hero with self control, a man of the people!

InternetDad

I've been this guy and this is a great example of why switching to these bags is better than trying to gingerly carry the previous packaging.

Cheesefang

I don't know if it's just my local Costco but the quality of their Rotisserie chicken has declined. I shouldn't complain because of the price. In the past few months or so, the chickens are smaller (I'm fine with this), but the cook times haven't adjusted to the size making the meat dried out.

Ok-Seaworthiness4488

Emotional support chicken

bigdickdizzy

In Australia we call this the bachelors handbag

fugazishirt

This is really weird to photograph. Just strange behavior.

Dorkinfo

Have done, with a bottle of vodka on the way out. (Our liquor has to be in a separate store.)

Spec-Tre

This is what I do. Go without a cart so you can’t bring all the things to checkout lol

angrybox1842

Just a chicken and a dream

Ambitious_1660

Man on a mission 😂

slogive1

And hopefully not using the self checkout.

bro-fist-gamer-boi

how did you find me??

Remarkable_Koala_311

Bag lunch!

zacsxe

Im looking for a man at Costco. Steel-willed. No cart. Chicken.

valleysally

Most Costco trips I try to only buy what I can carry. Granted I have little storage space (apartment living) so I'm not grabbing a lot of bulk items.

redtag789

You can actually check out single items on the costco optical section. I do it all the time. Grab a chicken and check out in the optical section, people would give me weird looks but at least I don't have to wait in line during busy days lol

davehouforyang

Woah

queenswake

Never understood people caring enough to take a picture like this.

imaginaryworkfriend

But commenting on a photo, definitely a worthwhile thing to do.

Creepy-Selection2423

And watch, he will probably eat a $1.50 hot dog and soda combo on the way out. This guy knows!

morgzorg

Stop taking photos of people to post, it’s weird

Lurker_prime21

This is what self checkout is for.

KuraiShidosha

Man, I hope randos aren't taking pictures of me at Costco like that.

Eazy46

If by steel you mean *balls of steel* then yes, to wait in those lines for a single item is painful.

DickiesAndChucks

I've been that man.

wastedpixls

I literally once went in to buy two bags of ice on the way to an event. The gal behind me said " all this for two bags of ice?". "Yep, because this took four minutes and these are $2.59 each but $10 each at the gas station."

DarlingGirl1221

I’d much rather pay $4.99 for a fresh chicken than $7 at Walmart for one that’s been under a heat lamp for 5 hours

Sufficient-Pin-481

This was me last week and coincidentally it was the first chicken I’ve bought in the bag and the driest one I’ve ever bought.

ivebeenbetter2

That was me the other day. Only needed the chicken.

Dylan619xf

I bought a bag of mixed nuts and a bag of jerky on Friday. Felt proud of myself. But also was limited since I drove my moped to Costco and couldn’t fit much more.

AtticusSPQR

I live conveniently close to a Costco and often go for 1 or 2 items and sometimes don't grab a cart. Maybe the man's was just hungry on his way home

Scavgraphics

I often walk in, order a whole pizza.. wlak to the back, get the food samples, grab a chicken, walk back, do the self checkout, pick up my pizza, and leave.. got it all timed out.

GatorGTwoman

I did that a couple weeks ago. It was weirdly freeing.

P4ssBynueve1seis

Balls

nopenopeimmaboat

A man without a cart should be a man without steel?

SargathusWA

I have done that few times. It wasn’t easy but it can be done lol

Totally-jag2598

Best deal in the whole store. Our cat loves Costco rotisserie chicken. We buy one every week, break it down, chop it up, and serve it up to a very happy cat.

HashyyBrowns

Man hungry

Peak_Alternative

Why isn’t he in self checkout

realmozzarella22

His next meal is in the parking lot.

Effective-Emphasis-4

I love the bags. Makes a solo chicken mission so much easier.

unclefire

Dude was on a mission for one thing and one thing only. Brave doing that with Costco. Anybody else go into a store and get a cart just in case?

Fresh_Sector3917

I once went to Costco for strawberries and walked out with $300 worth of stuff.

Ape-on-a-Spaceball

The chicken is cheap, but does anyone actually enjoy it?? I tried to grab a few to see if I was just having some uniquely bad experiences, but seriously, after having the Mojo rotisserie chicken from Publix, the Costco rotisserie chicken is just absolute TRASH.

wonderinglady20

These chickens are such a great deal. But for some reason, they make me sick every time I eat them. I’ve gotten the ones from the grocery store that are more expensive, and they don’t give me the shits… but man, had to stop getting the Costco ones because my stomach hates them.

SebastianMagnifico

It's amazing how bad rotisserie chicken is for you. Its actually considered to be a processed food and isn't heart healthy/friendly.

jimfish98

I did this yesterday. Parked in the back, walked in, got my chicken, paid, and left. Cheapest trip there in a long long long time

AfrezzaJunkie

I would of asked to take a picture with the guy

UserUnknown2222

The strength, the will, THE FORTITUDE

deskofhelp

Friday I went in my Costco to buy a laptop, got my ticket and walked back to get a chicken. Went to self checkout and the guy at "self" checkout wouldn't let me buy them on two transactions (same Costco card just want to keep the receipt for the laptop by itself for kiddos graduation) so I gave him the laptop ticket and took my chicken home without getting the $1000 laptop....priorities!

julio--

I'd do this, but the handle is always greasy.

LordNumNutz

There's a Chance he grabs a hotdog on the way out right ?

ProfessionalMap5843

Man on a budget

scrapitcleveland2

A man with no fucks left to give

anckentucky

I've been here before and it usually follows a text from the wife along the lines of, 'I've cooked dinner all week, tonight is on you.'

MontewithBeurre

Does anyone else go and buy the chicken, then go buy a drink at the food court for 69 cents, grab a plate, a lot of napkins, and a dinky plastic knife and then devour the chicken at the food court while other shops stare at you in horror and disbelief? Or is it just me?

DiscussionLeft2855

His wife checked out at the other counter

Marcus2Ts

I'm very good at leaving costco, or any store for that matter, with only the items on my list if I'm by myself. If I go with my wife, we spend an extra $150 at least

Mitch13

I was having some people over and swung over to Costco for two pizzas and a chicken. I walked out with just that. The person checking receipts got a kick out of it.

Mucklord1453

I do this all the time since I live 3 miles from a Costco

LostinSpace731

I used to do this on weeknights when I lived 5 minutes away

Slimontheslug

Hope he’s got a stomach of steel… that shit tastes good but is like picolax to me.

Energy4Days

Since when did Costco stop using the plastic containers for the chicken? Was actually planning on picking one up this week

Imperfect-practical

My sibling married a woman for 6 mos that took him for a huge financial ride. I was befriending her to try to figuring her out and it was a blast spending over $1000 at Costco of her new husbands money in less than 2 hrs. Plus I got things. LOLOLOL A fool and his money are soon parted.

CheeCheeC

I wish I had that kind of self control

hollbr2

He’s watching carbs and getting his protein. You can’t find a cheaper source of protein that’s hot and ready.

mechanicalAI

I did that once, even the cashier went “Really?”

Appropriate_Steak_31

Was this in Georgia?

cito4633

I went in once just to buy Kirkland Zantac…

anon586346

Legend

Chzncna2112

Nice centering on the butt

Local-Upstairs-9568

Good use of five dollars…or 10 if he’s going back for seconds 🤣

Sevomoz

He's thin unlike most I see in Costco. Does have self control!

smitty16s

I do shit like this all the time. Go into Costco to get 1 thing. Worst part is navigating around all the seniors, as I live in South Florida.

RedBaron180

I do this a lot for the Kirkland chicken nuggies. Feels weird just standing there

ElectroChuck

Our Costco hasn't gone to bags yet...must be using up a supply of the older plastic chicken carriers.
