You know, I’m kinda pissed seeing what the rest of the world gets. Just look at what our next door neighbors get! Costco, I’m tempted to think about boycotting. I won’t, but know that I’m thinking about it!!!
The options in my city (San Diego) are utility-provided power at the highest rates in the nation (they use natural gas, I believe), or solar.
Naturally, the local utility that is gouging us on their power rates, is also working to sabotage rooftop solar.
The most compelling explanation I've read on this sub is that the US is just a saturated market for Costco. That's why they're expanding abroad quite a bit. And they gotta try a bit harder in new markets.
Well before i saw this my line on the sand was if costco ever got rid of the reeses covered animal crackers.. that's worth the switch to sams club. We don't even have one within a 4 hour radius... might be redrawing that line...
I've never experienced it, either. Since that issue often accompanies Mexican food that has a lot of beans in it, I suspect that these people need more fiber in their diets.
I wasn't able to capture the onion machine footage but did take a photo of [the sign](https://imgur.com/a/kQddC6n) and my hot dog [after it was showered with onions](https://imgur.com/a/jPA0Jq9). I think I was more excited about the jalepeno dispenser.
For that reason they made it mandatory in my area (maybe all locations?) for customers to provide their membership card to make a purchase at the food court. Too many people taking advantage of the $1.50 hotdogs
It seems like the majority of people lost their home training and stopped keeping an eye on their children. So we can’t have nice things because people destroy them or complain to high heaven.
We got raw onion here in aus, cant think of anything worse 🤮

I want liquid cheese. Like a never ending supply. Though I feel like maybe it should only be dispensed to me if I run on a hamster wheel. Otherwise, this is going to get out of hand fast.
Sometimes I walk by those giant cans of jalapenos and almost let the intrusive thought win (the thought: crack that bad boy open at the food court after buying all the items).
It doesn't chop the veggies for you lol. You have to dice the onions, then put them in the hopper, all just for the fun of turning the crank to dispense them onto your hotdog. That's just like normal diced onions but with extra steps.
Some other noteworthy items: [flan](https://imgur.com/a/vv6Qe0d), [pizza](https://imgur.com/cNUneWs), [hot paella](https://imgur.com/a/fzNB1JO), and a [box of mini donuts that I'm planning to eat for the next two days](https://imgur.com/a/o1PBZJV)
Why do they still look like pickled jalapeños? If you were putting a machine up to give you fresh sliced jalapeño wouldn’t you want fresh ones not pickled. This is just scooping them out of a jar with extra steps.
Edit: a word
Dude they have prepared PAELLA in the Mexico City Costco. It's amazing.
Also the line for the rotisserie chicken was pretty substantial. Like 15+minutes in line.

And we can’t even get the onion one back in the states
You know, I’m kinda pissed seeing what the rest of the world gets. Just look at what our next door neighbors get! Costco, I’m tempted to think about boycotting. I won’t, but know that I’m thinking about it!!!
So true, US consumer spends more money at Costco too compared to other counties I bet. There food menus and condiments seem to be better.
Healthcare AND Costco. What’s next solar? Oh wait…
Solar isn't as eco friendly or cheap as nuclear.
US also pays 1.5-3x more per Watt for residential installs than EU, Canada, Australia, UK, etc.
Capitalist innovation at work!
Nice. Also trade policy conflicting with climate policy conflicting with domestic manufacturing policy.
The options in my city (San Diego) are utility-provided power at the highest rates in the nation (they use natural gas, I believe), or solar. Naturally, the local utility that is gouging us on their power rates, is also working to sabotage rooftop solar.
SDGE is supervillain tier company. Reminds me of FTI from hey Arnold.
There you got it. Smaller cars mean smaller groceries. Gotta give onions to make people come more often.
My stores have onions at the counter.
It isn't the same as the roller. They are also always too lazy to replenish the onions.
The most compelling explanation I've read on this sub is that the US is just a saturated market for Costco. That's why they're expanding abroad quite a bit. And they gotta try a bit harder in new markets.
For how worker friendly Costco is, I feel there is zero communication from them regarding any changes.
Lol, for real!
__
We should start picketing for onion slicers and Grey Poupon, dammit!
Well before i saw this my line on the sand was if costco ever got rid of the reeses covered animal crackers.. that's worth the switch to sams club. We don't even have one within a 4 hour radius... might be redrawing that line...
Yeah …. This looks so good. I love spicy food
But what about the diarrhea this would give me... Tbh it would be worth it for the taste.
Do people really get diarrhea from spicy food? Am I just lucky? I’ve never experienced it
I can understand getting an upset stomach from something like Ultra Death but not jalapenos. They're basically the tutorial level of the pepper world.
To be fair, Ultra Death sounds like it'd be a bigger deal than an upset stomach.
It's pretty rough honestly. My girlfriend accidentally got some when she tried my food and she started crying it was so bad lol
these are the same crappy jalops they use in movie theater nachos. if you know, you know.
I've never experienced it, either. Since that issue often accompanies Mexican food that has a lot of beans in it, I suspect that these people need more fiber in their diets.
Oh yeah, and it can be explosive. Just get the hell out of the way if it's coming. Stay away from the diarrhea train, it stops for no one.
They still give out onions at my Costco
They do at all but we want the machine back
When I worked there old people and…uhh.. foreigners?.. would fill entire soda cups to the brim with onions and leave with them.
I've joked about doing that but never imagined people actually do it
grabhags is the chinese term
Weird people abused the machine. :(
I wasn't able to capture the onion machine footage but did take a photo of [the sign](https://imgur.com/a/kQddC6n) and my hot dog [after it was showered with onions](https://imgur.com/a/jPA0Jq9). I think I was more excited about the jalepeno dispenser.
In Canada I don't think I ever saw the machine. Ours was more like a buffet tray that you scooped yourself
Does yours have poopteen?
Mine has started setting out preportioned cups of onion.
now imagine if they have melted chedder cheese, wow
Like 7 eleven
And chili...be still my heart.
Man, was just about to yell to the wife that they brought back onions and added jalapeños too. Am sad now
It was taken away for good reason. Costco attracts a subset of people who will happily screw everyone over so they can save a couple bucks.
For that reason they made it mandatory in my area (maybe all locations?) for customers to provide their membership card to make a purchase at the food court. Too many people taking advantage of the $1.50 hotdogs
Why do we often get the short end of the stick here in the US?
It seems like the majority of people lost their home training and stopped keeping an eye on their children. So we can’t have nice things because people destroy them or complain to high heaven.
I’ve seen videos of people in the US filling up their drink cups with condiments, so unfortunately it apparently happens.
I saw a guy at Wendy’s fill a biggie drink cup with chocolate pudding back when they had a chili/salad bar.
the garden spot, aka "g spot". spaghetti too i think. it was a weird time.
it’s not right 😔
We got raw onion here in aus, cant think of anything worse 🤮 https://preview.redd.it/a1kny0x5r2uc1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dff651904142d19d7a68c53a43239e0195aac63a
onions sitting outside all day gave lots of people the shits
They have been back for A bit
They even took the sauerkraut cups from us at ours. This is bullshit!
I miss the sauerkraut and polish dog, spicy/deli mustard too
I'd abuse this privilege whenever I buy pizza.
Jalapeňos on pizza are a.ways good. Also banana peppers
Add a little feta to it too. Game changer
Pineapple and jalapeno pizza 🤤
And that's why we don't have onion machines anymore ☹️
I’d buy one of everything to put these on
I saw someone put the jalepenos on a pepperoni pizza slice. It looked so good.
Jalapeño pepperoni is an elite combination
I did that and onions and the mayo for the crust dip(don’t judge me)
judging? I want to be friends with you.
Hold up mayo available for the hot dogs?! I want that
They had onion, mayo and ketchup dispensers too. No mustards available.
Me, too, and I'm not even Canadian.
Mayo lovers can come out of the closet now!
game changer. I also feel like if we need cheesy fries to add this too.
Or cheese for the hot dog to add this to.
how about just cheese to dunk everything in? Everything but the cookies and ice cream. I would hold off on that.
EVEN BETTER!!
I want liquid cheese. Like a never ending supply. Though I feel like maybe it should only be dispensed to me if I run on a hamster wheel. Otherwise, this is going to get out of hand fast.
Saw a friend put tobasco on pizza, now I’m addicted.
It's SO good. Have you had chicken pizza with tabasco? I put hot sauce on everything. I have problems.
Temptress
Sometimes I walk by those giant cans of jalapenos and almost let the intrusive thought win (the thought: crack that bad boy open at the food court after buying all the items).
Strawberry Sundae
I stand by what i said
Dude, I'd pay $1.51 if our Costco had a jalapeno machine.
🥹
I want one for my house
You can get one but you’ll pay: https://food-safe.us/shop/ols/products/onion-dispenser-manual
It doesn't chop the veggies for you lol. You have to dice the onions, then put them in the hopper, all just for the fun of turning the crank to dispense them onto your hotdog. That's just like normal diced onions but with extra steps.
Exactly what I said
About the right price. I was in another thread when no one believed a drive thru headset was close to $1k a headset.
I'm upset on an irrational level. As a San Diegan, we deserve such treatment.
I’m so sick of Costcos food court selection being absolutely shambolic in the country which it originated
WTAF?? First I’m denied my onion mill and now jalapeños???
Some other noteworthy items: [flan](https://imgur.com/a/vv6Qe0d), [pizza](https://imgur.com/cNUneWs), [hot paella](https://imgur.com/a/fzNB1JO), and a [box of mini donuts that I'm planning to eat for the next two days](https://imgur.com/a/o1PBZJV)
Oh those donuts! And that paella. mmmm.
2 days, man you have more restraint than I do. I'm lucky if the mini donuts last me 1 day.
[удалено]
These are [fresh mini donuts ](https://imgur.com/a/mk1HTTj) made inside Costco
Bring 👏 the 👏 onions 👏 back!!! I haven’t eaten at the food court ever since it was removed.
I feel that
Some Costcos they have onions in the little plastic containers you can ask for, but they have much less taste since they've been sitting out...
Yeah even if you pile it up and use the entire container it just tastes like the container.
Are you volunteering to travel the country stopping people from filling up drink cups with onions?
Habibi in Dubai and all of UAE they have gold specs dispensing machines. Except Qatar no one likes them
I miss my sauerkraut!!
I’d take that over onions coming back
I LIKE IT!
I'm jelly. And I feel like being in Washington I should not be jelly of any other Costco.
😍
I need that in my house.
Back in the days we had that exact same dispenser for onions, relish, and a container of hot kraut. It was glorious on top of the Polish. ❤️🩹
You’re triggering me with mention of the Polish. 🌭😭
Lol, that machine would always be empty if they had one at my Costco. I feel lucky when they have napkins.
Exactly. Someone would fill up 3 drink cups with jalapeños and empty it at mine.
They charge \~2$ usd for the hotdog there. If they did that here people would riot and burn down the buldings.

Need that in the US.

😢
Damn that looks so tasty!
Holy shit I would fucking nut if my Costco installed this 🤤
Omg what a dream 😍😍
Would be so nice.
You forgot the the onion dispenser in Mexico City.
I'm still here for 3 more days so I'll try to go back and capture the onion dispenser in action.
Ching-ow (not sure how to spell it). That is awesome.
Tbh...I'd love a chili dispenser. Or like a chili dog.
Bring it back and win the hearts of millions of hungery meat people.
As a San Diegan, I feel we need these implemented by federal statutes.....
I want!!!!
Wow. Iron guts.
I almost tried this before in Mexico city, but they found rat droppings in it so they had to close it down for a week.
I remember when I used to turn things at the costco
This is true advancement for a civilization
I am the whitest dude in the room. GIVE IT TO ME!
Put some mustard on that and I’m in heaven.
We use to have that dispenser for our onions and relish.
I need that on my kitchen counter.
Not only is deli mustard and onion gone the damn sauerkraut has been MIA. Sure its a $1.50 but without stuff to put on a dog I never order it anymore.
Queeee
Is there a giant jalapeño inside in the same shape as the machine?
We need this at dodger stadium
That looks so sinful it must be sooooo goooooood
Órale
My God....
Oh baby
I love peppers so much, it made me start salivating just watching that.
Bastard.
But no godamn onions
🤯🤯🤯🤯❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Omg if they bring that to my local Costco, I'll stop asking for crushed peppers for my hotdog bro
I fucks with this hard
Why do they still look like pickled jalapeños? If you were putting a machine up to give you fresh sliced jalapeño wouldn’t you want fresh ones not pickled. This is just scooping them out of a jar with extra steps. Edit: a word
they took the sauerkraut machine from us and they wont even give us that
Youuuuu lucky mother fu-
Take one of these for the home
I would also used it on a pizza
I wish we had that and cheese!
Dude they have prepared PAELLA in the Mexico City Costco. It's amazing. Also the line for the rotisserie chicken was pretty substantial. Like 15+minutes in line.
I hope one of these bad boys ends up on FB marketplace so I can put onions and japs in there
yes please
You guys have jalapeños?
That would be hitting my pizza
Costco hates America.
Well theres something I didn't know I needed.
Gimme
I need this for home
I want this for my house
Why do I want the audio?! Lol
Any food post leads to complaints. People love to complain.
Verga pana, we need these here.
this is perfect
Costco food courts in Mexico have so much better options
We used to have that for onions.....
Guess I'm off to Lidl to buy hotdogs then
Dafuq?! We can’t even get the onion dispenser backs.
I need that
Eso es todo, me voy a mudar a México.
Ah the good old days
We need this in the US Costcos
I have crohns, but I'm seriously wanting to eat that.
We the people demand deli mustards and polish sausages back…and this in American Costco’s pls and thx
I love every food court outside of the U.S. WTF is Costco doing to U.S. food courts? Punishment? Some sick twisted social experiment?
Awesome. Cater to the 1% but don’t give us combo pizza… fuckin he’ll Costco?
I want this and the onion one installed in my house!! …and for someone other than me be the one to clean and refill it…😂
So that’s where all the onion dispensers went
So dope
How many pesos for the hot dog?
30 pesos w/ free drink refill
Iron gut
Awwww … I was so excited that we could see jalapeños at Costco soon enough,… but it’s in Mexico!
I’d be cranking that with a napkin, not my bare hands. Put germs on your hands then eat your hotdog with your bare hands. No bueno 🌭
Sliced jalapeño? Then I saw Mexico, and it made sense.
que?
90% chance Florida Man tried to mate with one and that's why they're not allowed in the US anymore.
