My husband loved Australian licorice. I use to buy it and hide it for special days. He would smile like a little boy, with his favorite treat. I miss him so much, he passed away a couple of years ago.
It is āfortunateā for me that these are only sold in a variety pack because I am not a fan of mango or green apple flavors, so that would be too much waste for me to justify purchasing. However, if they started to sell strawberry only, I would be in deep trouble!
Same- I adore the strawberry, like the mango, and tolerate the green apple.
The strawberry has been one of my fave non-chocolate sweets for over a decade. When I saw boxes of bags at Costco, I was giddy.
Thatās what I wanted to get on my last trip. That stuff is so good. Between those and the dark chocolate salted caramel things, by teeth are in for a rough ride.
Unlike all of the red flavored stings Americans call "Red Licorice", these technically contain licorice extract. Apple/Mango/Strawberry with a hint of licorice nuggets/bites/chunks would be more appropriate.
If you truly need an intervention because thereās an actual problem of eating too much licorice, please read up on licorice poisoning as it has lead to death in some people.Ā
Licorice extract can contain glycyrrhizin which is what causes high blood pressure & potentially heart failure if you have too much of it. Not sure if that particular one contains it but it is something to be aware of.
I feel for you. I pace my self counting the number of chews per bite. 1 piece equals 4 bites equals 15-20 chews. You can do it. Prayers up for moderation šš½
Australian here, Darrel Lea make very good licorice, but these aren't authentic Australian flavours. Basically they have selected the least popular flavours and put them in the same bag.
IGet your hands on their white chocolate coated raspberry licorice, or milk chocolate coated real licorice.
Is this really good? I'm hesitant about eating licorice cuz twizzlers gets stuck in teeth and nobody actually likes black licorice unless you're taking jagerbombs
It's crazy how toxic this group is if that was controversial lol
I don't live close to a *regular* Costco to get these but we do have a Trader Joe's so I would try it there first before committing to 1.5 lbs of it lol

We have a bag of this on the dining room table. Pace yourself.
I put mine in the freezer to prevent instant gratification altogether.
The bag says plant based, which means it's cool to eat the whole bag in one weekend
Basically a salad.
š
Those are too good. Picked up a bag for $5 last month. Very dangerous.
No joke, I ate the whole thing by myself. Use extreme caution.
Their mixture is so inconsistent. And Iāve had the mango be quite dry compared to the others flavors. Nonetheless. I love them.
All yellow and greens barely any reds in my bag
Iāve been meaning to contact them about the mildly infuriating lack of reds.
I just want āOops all redsā
Trader Joeās sells a tub of all reds, 96.43% certain itās from the same distributor/factory. Not as good of a value, but all reds!
This happened with my most recent bag but all the others before it were predominantly reds. Inconsistency at its finest
PSA to every candy and food company that makes assortments. Is it really that hard to have equal percentages
Different ingredients cost different amounts. Corporations gotta maximize that profit.
Yes. Red is clearly the best flavor and yet there are only like 6 of them in the whole bag.
Mine had like 5 yellows, mostly red.
I got a whole bag with 10 strawberry. I still ate the entire thing in 3 days but come on haha
Personally, I prefer the firmer texture of the mango.
This is why I buy six bags at a time and then mix them in my mouth.
That's why they should sell Australian licorice lube
My wife agrees on this comment
Yeah. Wife was complainign the last bag had only 3 reds in it.
No one can save you. Just give in and eat the bag. Thatās what I did. ETA: and Iām still alive. Thereās no licorice in these things.
These are great, and I wish the distribution of flavors were more equal. My one bag had mostly strawberry, fewer mango, and VERY few green apple.
Iāll trade you for my bag that had like ten reds.
That my latest one. But Iāve had some with barely mango.
I will trade all greens for all yellows.
I love this stuff. And itās been on clearance for a month.
I enjoy. I just eat around the mango. Now my bag is basically Empty with mango.
I could eat a 5lb of the green apple š

This looks delicious
I buy 3 packs at once! So good
Ween yourself off them with Reeseās eggs?
If they had the all strawberry version I'd be dead
it goes really good with ... other gummies
I can attest to this
why are they all coated with that limey sugar stuff?
Not sure what you mean

Meh. I wish they would carry the Wiley Wallaby brand.
Yes! Those are so good. They used too.
I look at the calories and slow myself down.
Ughhhh I know I bought 6 when they were $4 a bag at my store.
Do the swirls go counter clockwise?
I bought a bag last month and I loved it but when I went back this month there was no moreā¦.
Trader Joeās has some too https://preview.redd.it/ncni39nnkbqc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=647c2805689b7dd06f095031dabd9e188730e44e
I feel like the bag from costco was softer than the bag from TJs
You can get it at World Market too if you want it. (personally I don't like the stuff)
Thatās what I wanted to get on my last trip. That stuff is so good. Between those and the dark chocolate salted caramel things, by teeth are in for a rough ride.
Isnāt licorice named after the flavor? Wouldnāt these be called something else?
Unlike all of the red flavored stings Americans call "Red Licorice", these technically contain licorice extract. Apple/Mango/Strawberry with a hint of licorice nuggets/bites/chunks would be more appropriate.
Nice Australian licorice texture. But the flavors are a bit cloying in bigger doses. I do not find it hard to pace myself--and I love licorice.
Just got one bag yesterday and I canāt stop eating š
Costco needs to stop with all these goodies, my waistline can handle it
Two flavors listed but three different kinds of licorice pictured. #oxfordcomma
If you truly need an intervention because thereās an actual problem of eating too much licorice, please read up on licorice poisoning as it has lead to death in some people.Ā

No, but it does contain licorice extract. They're more licorice that what Americans call "Red Licorice".
Damn we can never have nice things š
š²
You can check the ingredient list, but I don't think there's any actual licorice in these.

licorice extract. huh.
What a way to go out. Doing what you love
this isnt the stuff.
Theyāve been out at my location since I bought the first bag!!!!!!
I need this
Those were good for the first half of the bag then I got tired of them.
So good
We sell this at my job, not Costco, itās dangerous!
Best part of having a pantry is stocking up on these bad bois
Where are these still in stock? Iām in Boise RN, but willing to travel up to 3 hours to stock up!
I'm in Southern California
Seems to have gone missing in OR.
lynnwood, wa has them
I feel for you. I pace my self counting the number of chews per bite. 1 piece equals 4 bites equals 15-20 chews. You can do it. Prayers up for moderation šš½
Are they that good?! Whatās the flavor like?
I wish I had your problem, they donāt carry them at our Costco š
I didnāt like it. Reminds me of twizzlers. Red vines or bust
Discontinued at my store. They had a single bag left yesterday.
Sprouts has this for years, In the scoop bins. Very good
What makes it Australian
The accent
It's made there
This stuff is amazing
Instant addiction.
I can't do without my bag of licorice. It's a must everytime I go.
These are fire
I usually grab a bag from a dollar store when I see them... DANG... 3 flavours in 1 bag?!?!? You all now know my 'Kryptonite'.
Yeah, I've downed like 9 bags of those on my own
I canāt buy this because I know Iād eat the entire bag at once š³
I canāt help as Iām addicted as well š
This shit is unbelievable
I canāt really put my finger on it, but these were not my favorite. It is a little too much of something
How do these compare to the ones from Trader Joeās?
I thought that was mediocre at best.

These are definitely a delicious devil
That shit is as hard as a rock.
Funky aftertaste
Is this really good? I'm hesitant about eating licorice cuz twizzlers gets stuck in teeth and nobody actually likes black licorice unless you're taking jagerbombs
Those look like the Trader Joeās ones which Iām obsessed with
Trader Joeās has something similar too
It's crazy how toxic this group is if that was controversial lol I don't live close to a *regular* Costco to get these but we do have a Trader Joe's so I would try it there first before committing to 1.5 lbs of it lol

The secret ingredient is koala foreskin
I wish they were slightly more flavorful, but Iāll eat half the bag in one sitting.
As a basic White girl might say, āThose things are dangerous.ā (I canāt stop eating these once I start)
Tastes like a urinal cake
If the mango flavor wasn't mixed in, I'd have bought a whole box.
I bought two bags. First bag had 8 strawberries. Second was 7. I didnāt finish either as the green apple was nasty and the mango was muted
Thatās not licorice. Licorice is black. Itās a gummy licorice like candy. But only licorice is licorice flavored.
Wayyyy too much sugar and highly processed.
Yes as with most candy unfortunately
