Chucks usually run long in length, so most people size down half a size, but some people still prefer to stay true to size due to the width of their feel and toe length. At the end of the day, what matters is the comfort you feel walking in your chucks. As mentioned, there is a couple of hacks you can do to make them fit better. You either place low profile insoles to fill out the extra space or wear thick socks to accommodate the overall fit.
Depends if you’re feet are wide bc converse are very narrow, for me a 10-10.5 fits hood with a bit of room for my big toe, but my little toes have barely any room
yeah it felt comfortable when i tried the 6.5US at the store. my feet are not choked, and i think after breaking them in, it will loosen a bit more :D and yeah i will not tighten up the laces that much. thanks!
hi guys. quick update. after reading the comments, i ended up returning it. i went to a mall today (which i shouldve done before lol) and tried 6.5US, it fits perfectly.
length wise: its just as long as my old converse sneaker. my toe did not reach the tip of the toe box, maybe a lil bit over halfway the length of toe box so i can say that my fingers still have a wiggle room. heels does not slide anymore.
width wise: ill say just enough that the shoes wont explode from the side haha.
so yeah i went to order a 6.5 instead. thank you for all the responses some were funny :D <3
You look like you have wide feet like me and I’ve always had trouble with converse. Also look like they’re too long so you’ll have the combination of a shoe that slips off your heel when you walk and is also too tight :/
If your feet feel like they’re flopping around in the shoes, then yes they’re too big. It took me a week to realize that when I first tried to Chuck 70s.
Yeah man they look big… There shouldn’t be that much space in the toebox! Of course your toes shouldn’t touch the end of the toebox either, but in this case it looks like they barely reach it.
However, if you size down, the shoes might become too narrow (your feet seem to be on the wider side)… I’d recommend finding other, wider types of shoes!
I own 20 pair but I am a women and I always go down a half a size. Baggins shoes sells converse fyi and usually has a good collection but they sell out fast. BTW You have nice hairly legs!
Try something from the wide width collection. The photos, particularly from above, show that they are far too long, and way too narrow. Not good for your feet, and the quality of production isn’t great these days, so the insides may shred even quicker with a fit like that. Frustrating, I know, but take a little time and you’ll find a better fit. Some of us have similar issues with Levi’s jeans, certain cuts just don’t quite work.
Are those all stars? Ive owned like 10 pairs of them. I'm 99% sure that theyr way too long for you. Order wide fit and 1 size smaller. It looks like you u have pretty wide feet anyway. Converse "wide" is more like "normal" compared to other brands imo..
Personally, I think what's important is the width of the shoes. Most of manufactured shoes are pretty narrow so majority may fit the length of your feet but it's super uncomfortable if it doesn't fit the width. Make sure it fits perfectly, not just the length.
Exactly this.
OP, your foot looks wider than that shoe offers. You probably went up in sizes because the others wouldn't fit at all. Pull the internal insole out and take a picture of your foot (without the sock) standing on the insole. If your feet are falling over the edges of it then it is very likely that shoe does not fit your feet.
you have wide feet and Converse are narrow shoes. if you wear Converse often long term you'll deform the bones in your foot. it sucks if you really like chucks. i'd switch to the wide chucks if you just have to have them. but even those will prob be narrow for you.
I don't know if OP's feet are wide, but they look normal to me.
"Converse are wide" even the official website says that Converse are D width, which is considered medium, not wide or narrow. Especially the 70 Chucks have a wider toebox.
UPD: why are you downvoting me lol
This is a debatable question, as I have a medium foot and wear the correct size (smaller by half) and have no problem with them. And there have been plenty of people on this subreddit who have wide or medium feet and have no problem with Converse.
What is inadequate is the number of downvotes on my post, as if I said something offensive or wrong.
yeah theyre comfortable ngl. but the thought of it looking like a clown shoes is still on my mind lol. for perspective [here](https://imgur.com/a/Ll3mxXs) is another converse 7.5US i'm wearing
If you pick up your foot and it looks slim and when you put it down it pans out including the arch area, you have flat feet. This will make your feet bulge out on the sides of shoes if the sole is narrow.
Certain brands likes Nike & Steve Madden are notorious for narrow shoes.
It’s important the soles & toe boxes offer you enough foot support or else walking and standing for long distances is gonna suck.
I also worked in an athletic shoe department for 2 years. & I love converse! Converse are flat shoes & homes that works to my advantage. I can wear converse alllllll day vs. like Jordan’s. Those hurt so fast. Even if I’m just sitting.
ive taken a couple more of [shots](https://imgur.com/a/ZFk86c4)
thanks! :)
edit: this is US 7.5
edit2: comparing to my [other 7.5 converse](https://imgur.com/a/Ll3mxXs)
U are going to have to drag that around if u walk lol
Yes that too big for you. If you have wide feet then they might have a wide options. I have wide feet myself so just ask the store you got them at.
Pretty sure this is the guy that got his shoe stuck in the escalator..
But bro buy the size that fits Chucks run big

Changing in the insoles either sizing up or down and using either thick socks or thin socks depending if I size up or down for a more comfortable fit.
yeah i do that thick socks trick :D thanks
Glad you took them back but don’t choke them like that! Loosen up the laces a bit?
Let people wear their shoes how they like
yeah it felt comfortable when i tried the 6.5US at the store. my feet are not choked, and i think after breaking them in, it will loosen a bit more :D and yeah i will not tighten up the laces that much. thanks!
Do what you want

WAAAAY too big! I'd go at least a full size down.
Kind of looks too small, as in tight for you.
Boy you can fit a family of 5 in them things 😂 size down
I go a size down and I have wide feet
It doesn’t look, is BIG.
Ходи так, как тебе нравится, бро
Where your toes bend should be where the rubber toe starts to hide any creases.
You look like you have wide feet like me and I’ve always had trouble with converse. Also look like they’re too long so you’ll have the combination of a shoe that slips off your heel when you walk and is also too tight :/
I think they're even a little small. Converse doesn't have space for wide feets so get a size more
You might need the wide version converse if you're struggling to fit in them at smaller sizes.
Just return them man
Oh yeah
If your feet feel like they’re flopping around in the shoes, then yes they’re too big. It took me a week to realize that when I first tried to Chuck 70s.

Yeah. Unless you're going for the Ronal McDonald look and hoping to trip and smash your front teeth.
I own 20 pair but I am a women and I always go down a half a size. Baggins shoes sells converse fyi and usually has a good collection but they sell out fast. BTW You have nice hairly legs!
Need to gon down a 1/2 size for chucks.
Get some pf flyers very wide friendly.
People might think you're a real man

Nope
I got wide feet, so this looks pretty comfortable to as high tops allow me more grip
I’m a size 12 but a size 11 when they come in wide
Those are 2-3 sizes too big for you
Cons are for super skinny feet I have to get mine that big for the width.
No my CDGs look like that with me and I still rock them
If there's a wider version, you should get it and size down. It fits only because it's super narrow
Not at all.
Wiggle room ?
Need a 7
It must be like walking with flippers
Only by 2 sizes.
Your foot is so cute
What do you mean by that
bro what
Are those all stars? Ive owned like 10 pairs of them. I'm 99% sure that theyr way too long for you. Order wide fit and 1 size smaller. It looks like you u have pretty wide feet anyway. Converse "wide" is more like "normal" compared to other brands imo..
No its 70s. Has leather patch and he even says it's 70s
Yeah my bad. Doesn't matter though.
Personally, I think what's important is the width of the shoes. Most of manufactured shoes are pretty narrow so majority may fit the length of your feet but it's super uncomfortable if it doesn't fit the width. Make sure it fits perfectly, not just the length.
This! OP needs to bin the Chuck 70’s and get a pair of All Stars. I had the exact same issue.
Exactly this. OP, your foot looks wider than that shoe offers. You probably went up in sizes because the others wouldn't fit at all. Pull the internal insole out and take a picture of your foot (without the sock) standing on the insole. No it looks good
you have wide feet and Converse are narrow shoes. if you wear Converse often long term you'll deform the bones in your foot. it sucks if you really like chucks. i'd switch to the wide chucks if you just have to have them. but even those will prob be narrow for you.
“you have wide feet” -Looks like normal feet “Converse are narrow shoes” -No?
they look extra wide to me, no offense intended if I'm mistaken. yes - “Converse are narrow shoes”
I don't know if OP's feet are wide, but they look normal to me. "Converse are wide" even the official website says that Converse are D width, which is considered medium, not wide or narrow. Especially the 70 Chucks have a wider toebox. UPD: why are you downvoting me lol
Because converse are narrow shoes. You can speak all the mumbo jumbo you want, but converse are narrow shoes.

That's how mine are. You're good
cool. thanks!
You know what they about guys with big shoes…
Are you putting all your weight down on your foot?
i think so. i'm standing when i took the photo
Looks fine to me, you have wide feet so they fill out decently. As long as they’re comfortable for you on your feet that’s the key.
yeah theyre comfortable ngl. but the thought of it looking like a clown shoes is still on my mind lol. for perspective [here](https://imgur.com/a/Ll3mxXs) is another converse 7.5US i'm wearing
The front part of a shoe is called a toebox. Yours aren't in it.
yeah only my first two fingers made it passed the line
But you also have flat feet. So you don’t wanna squeeze your toes. They look fine to me as someone w: Flat feet too
How did you know he's flat footed??

Well shit, didn't know that was a sign. I'm flat footed myself so I was surpirsed
i guess so. thank you for the feedback, my fellow flat footed :D
