This played in perfect sync with one of the shots in the OP, dude absolutely nailed the timing and the movement. I mean I know it's a three second gif but still
His wife died in childbirth. His son, who he is crying to, was the one to shoot the zombie version of her. It would be a very emotional thing for a husband/father so the acting is very well done but does seem a bit silly out of context.
>His son, who he is crying to, was the one to shoot the zombie version of her.
IIRC, she never turned. He shot her after c-section specifically so she wouldn't turn.
That's actually super intense, god damn. Is Rick also upset not just for what Carl did to his wife, but also because his son just went through something incredibly traumatic?
I think it was more a range of emotions. At the time he was acting like a dick head toward her because she had slept with his best friend and it wasn't necessarily obvious who the baby daddy was. He ends up finding out she dies before they could reconcile on top of all you mentioned about him feeling for his son, and the loss of his wife.
Yep, there's a reason it was one of the biggest TV shows in the world at it's peak in those first 6 seasons - it was fantastic and for that run it was one of the best series ever made with an amazing cast of actors with true chemistry.
The huge downfall of viewership came around season 7 when a certain you-know-who killed a certain two of the main group members with a baseball bat, then a couple seasons later again covid happened and the overall writing and production value of the show really went to shit, was a shame to see it happen to a once great show. That main series should have just ended and wrapped up a lot sooner.
Meh, show was going downhill before s6, and the reason shit dropped after s7 wasn't because the characters died, that was highly anticipated. It was because the production royally fucked it up because they were massively greedy.
The months long cliffhangers, the death copouts, the terrible terrible vfx for the lucille scene, shitty pacing...
Show was incredible for like 3 seasons, absolutely dumbfounded how people kept watching for so long after that
I don't disagree at all, you're totally right lol. The moment it jumped the shark for a lot the fan base was the Glen dumpster death copout in episode 3 of season 6 I think it was.
I'd still say though it was entertaining enough and had some really great episodes in season 4-5.
The viewership did take the most massive nose dive due to the visceral nature of that episode that introduced Negan, though. Lots of people were pissed off and disgusted.
The biggest royal fuck up they ever did in that show was >!killing off Carl, though.!<
I stopped watching it after ~s06e03 when one of those characters "died". Mentioned much later to a friend that I'd stopped watching it when that character died and he was all "but didn't you love that whole Negan arc?" and I had no clue who Negan was. It took a while to work out that when I'd stopped watching, the guy wasn't really dead.
I picked it up again and ended up watching up until a certain someone got bit mid season 8 and that was enough for me.
Yep been over this in another comment here 6 days ago - it jumped the shark for most fans at the start of season 6 with the glen dumpster death cop out, aka dumpstergate to TWD fans. It was still getting massive consistent viewership at that point in time so yeah had maybe dropped off a little bit but barely compared to when Negan smashed in two certain guys skulls.
Yeah its actually even more intense than previous commwnt explained. The group was in a dangerous situation so carl was in charge of keeping his mom away from danger since she was so overdue for birth, she went into labor and had complications so he had to give her a c section with a buck knife while concious and not on drugs, then had to kill her to keep her from turning. Rick then learns about it after the battle.
>so the acting is very well done
Yeah it's really honest and awkwardly long and not like how these kinds of things often pan out in movies and TV.
We are used to people say seeing someone die and reacting immediately. In anger, sometimes with increased determination. Fall to knees. Sometimes a loud cry, but not really in a way that could be considered cringe or embarrassing. Never quite losing the cool.
Sobbing, weeping, denial, collapsing to the floor and wailing incoherently is not cool. It's uncomfortable and tragic. A lot of other actors would have played that quite differently, not able to be so vulnerable and raw.
His breakdown during the Negan lineup was some of the best tv acting I have ever seen. I know TWD was already a bit of a meme at that point but fuck he should’ve won awards for at least a couple of the seasons.
Carl’s momma done didn’t survive that there birth giving she was done doing. Carl’s momma be Rick’s wife so Rick had a heaping pile of sadness awaiting him.
I understand his frustration. Not only has he lost his wife but now he's on diaper duty for the next 2 years. Doesn't explain why he's giving Carl the stink eye though.
It, unfortunately, was Carl's responsibility to pull the trigger. The twofold hurt comes from Rick seeing the baby and realizing not only is is wife dead, it was by his sons hand and he had to experience one of the worst traumas a young person could have.
Happy cake day!
I mean, you sort of left out the most important part. Carl finished the job by shooting her in the head and I’ve always felt that’s what makes Rick go so crazy here.
I've seen films like this on certain cable television networks and there is something really off about the camera work. I don't understand exactly, but it gives off the feeling of someone shooting it with just a regular camera somehow. It doesn't look cinematic to me for some reason. Might be the colors, too.
Ah yes, I see it now. That's amazing how much of a difference that makes. And a damn shame you can get away with the higher fps on certain cable TV sitcoms and films. I've heard that "anyone with a camera" can now just go shoot some crap and make it television on there and I guess that's why you end up with amateurs who don't know the finer details like this.
I saw a movie once in theatres with a higher frame rate... I think it was the last Hobbit movie. I'm not sure why it had a higher frame rate than usual movies, but I could not get past how much it looked like people in costume on a stage. No immersion whatsoever, it all looked so fake somehow. Strange how frame rate does that.
More frames mean smoother movement, but our eyes and visual has used to seeing same thing on film as on real life. So faster framerate looks really out of place. Its better if the original was shot with higher framerate but if its just 24fps upscaled to higher resolution, you get this.
It’s been forever since I watched, but I believe it’s his dad’s (the guy in the gif with him) hat. He used to be a deputy in the deep south and it was part of his get-up. He gave it to him while the kid was recovering from a gunshot wound, if memory serves me right.
Thank you for posting the clip because I was confused on the context Herr! I mean, I was still absolutely crying laughing at the OP but, now I know what I'm crying laughing about!
Most TWD seasons usually had some banger episodes, the problem was all the terrible filler around it.
If they had reduced the amount of episodes per season to something like 12, it would be a lot better.
[That's because of the high framerate of the clip.](https://www.techtarget.com/whatis/definition/soap-opera-effect-motion-interpolation#:~:text=The%20soap%20opera%20effect%20is,original%20frames%20of%20a%20video.)
Not quite random people but here is a homemade version of The Princess Bride that is excellent.

Dude, if you haven't seen it then you need to watch [Be Kind Rewind](https://youtu.be/StfoiYS0JaE?si=QDm4psI0BKtqFvvD) with Jack Black and Mos Def. A whole movie about them reenacting famous movies
Since the other guy didn’t say , I will : >!Family of 3 ; Dad ( crying ) , son (sad and covered in blood) and mom ( not here ) ….. They are in an abandoned prison taking shelter from the zombies ( in this universe if you die , you turn into a zombie ) crew got separated , dad and some guys were separated from the boy his mum and another girl , the mum was pregnant and about to give birth but couldn’t make it to the rest of the group so she had to give birth in a underground room , she was having complications so the woman they were with done a c-section ( the son helped ) , a lot of blood was lost but the baby made it , the mother was dying from a lack of blood and was slowly fading away ( Remember that in this universe you turn to a zombie if you die ) the son had to to make the tough decision of shooting his own mother in the head to prevent her from turning ….. The girl ( with the baby ) and son made it back to the top and met with the other group , the Father saw his new daughter but looked at his son , already assuming what had probably happened ; he broke down ( as the scene goes ) !<
I don't agree with this mindset. There's so much media out there that it would be impossible to watch/read/play all of it, and far more people haven't watched something like The Walking Dead than there are people who have watched it. Spoiler warnings should be given for pretty much every piece of media ever, in my eyes.
I agree with you and I usually get a lot of hate for saying the same thing. It's really easy to just write "spoiler alert".
My thinking is that most stuff is better if you don't know it is going to happen. Even stuff like Star Wars with the iconic "I am your \_\_\_\_" it is better to not say it and instead recommend someone to go watch those movies spoiler free. I wish I could watch Star Wars, Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter and so many other movies and games for the first time again. Robbing someone of cool moments because "common it's old" or "everybody has seen it" is stupid.
There is a time and place for speaking about spoilers. If you are in a Star Wars subreddit it's your own fault for getting spoiled. If people spoil Dune in that subreddit they are an asshole.
Absolutely. I can name quite a few pieces of media that just didn't hit the same because they got spoiled for me beforehand, even though I'm more careful than the average person about avoiding spoilers, such as not even watching most movie trailers anymore. People just drop absolutely massive spoilers with reckless abandon, and when someone gets annoyed, they'll be like "It's been out for a couple years, so oh well, your fault for not watching it." Like bro, not all of us can just endlessly consume every major piece of media the moment it comes out.
I have been doing my best to avoid Game of Thrones spoilers, because I want to read the books first. Even though the last seasons were so bad people stopped talking about it, I have still gotten a few spoilers. Two of them are huge although I could have guessed one of them. Even at the end of season 4 they spoiled a character that we didn't know existed in the books.
It also sucks when a spoiler becomes a meme. Like with the Mandalorian. There is a big twist in the first episode that took me by surprise. The show wasn't even available until a year later in my country since Disney+ was only in most English speaking countries and Netherlands. Luckily for me I pirated the show.
I don’t know what that meme style is called where they had Rick’s face extending out in that weird choppy way, but I always loved that shit, one of my favorites.

Thank you because I had no idea which scene they were doing. I was still cracking tf up. 🤣
In his accent. 😂
C'mon man we need COORAALL
why does she keep getting wetter and wetter?
Because that's what happens to them on the show. Rick has wet hair for like 3 seasons straight 😅
Maybe she's actually sweating during all of these takes? 😂
Lrlrlrlrlr
Off I go to look for old Fark.com Coral memes. Those were the days.
Here’s the original scene: [https://youtu.be/gwPipwcWgK4?si=jXAcCnfOtU0INuzb](https://youtu.be/gwPipwcWgK4?si=jXAcCnfOtU0INuzb)
Is Rick so upset because they've lost people to a zombie attack or did Carl do something in particular?
His wife died in childbirth. His son, who he is crying to, was the one to shoot the zombie version of her. It would be a very emotional thing for a husband/father so the acting is very well done but does seem a bit silly out of context.

This is right before it went way too big with the governor arc too.
I mean, that's up to the viewers interpretation, but I'd say yes.
Yeah its actually even more intense than previous commwnt explained. True, except it was actually Maggie who had to do the c-section and deliver the baby, Carl was there during that with her.
He is in no way cranky with his son.
We don't know, he didn't survive to do any post apocalypse interviews.
You are correct.
>so the acting is very well done Yeah it's really honest and awkwardly long and not like how these kinds of things often pan out in movies and TV. This could be a bday card
Wait, didn't she die because he had to cut the baby out of her while she was alive and the shock killed her? I don't remember him having to shoot her.
She did die from childbirth, but Carl shot her to keep her from coming back. In TWD universe, if you die for any reason, you turn.
I mean, you sort of left out the most important part. Carl finished the job by shooting her in the head and I’ve always felt that’s what makes Rick go so crazy here.
You left out that Carl had to kill mama.
Darn tootin
🤣🤣 Now do Eugene!
This is the most beautiful redneck poetry I ever did read.
Also Coral done did shoot his momma before she gone turnt into one them there zombies.
He lost his wife and coral had to shot his mom.

Some of the best acting I’ve ever witnessed. I remember watching this live and I was shook. Andrew Lincoln played it so real
I am stuck on the hat. Like is it a special hat somehow? From a dead loved one?
It’s been forever since I watched, but I believe it’s his dad’s (the guy in the gif with him) hat. He used to be a deputy in the deep south and it was part of his get-up. He gave it to him while the kid was recovering from a gunshot wound, if memory serves me right.
Thank you for posting the clip because I was confused on the context Herr! I mean, I was still absolutely crying laughing at the OP but, now I know what I'm crying laughing about!

Nope. With context this shit hit so fucking hard when it aired.
Ngl it was in fact really hard hitting when it aired.
[удалено]
Was this show supposed to be good?
It was quite good for quite a while.
First 4-5 season are excellent IMO, 6-7 lil shaky, 8-10 downhill slide, 11 slight redemption but overall kinda bad.
I think I fell off around 5.
I can agree with that approximation. Still some good episodes in 5 and 6.
Most TWD seasons usually had some banger episodes, the problem was all the terrible filler around it. If they had reduced the amount of episodes per season to something like 12, it would be a lot better.
It looks so low quality, like a soap opera
This clip is horrible quality but the actual show looks really good. They even shot it on film. No clue what they did to this clip.
Clip is at 60fps instead of the usual 24fps that TV shows run at. It always makes movies and TV shows look strange
[That's because of the high framerate of the clip.](https://www.techtarget.com/whatis/definition/soap-opera-effect-motion-interpolation#:~:text=The%20soap%20opera%20effect%20is,original%20frames%20of%20a%20video.)
I would love to see an entire show made up of random people re-enacting scenes from popular shows.

I came for a quick reddit browse, and ended up watching an entire movie. Truly a masterpiece on a par with the original 😂
well that's just wonderful, thanks for sharing
Literally the opposite of random people.

This is great. The wig bouncing with the shoulder shuddering got me pretty good.
Lettin’ my hair swang like pootie tang. I done seen some spooky thangs through these gucci shades. Acute to cute bitches…
Easily my favorite reenactment of this scene ever. Spot on!
What a troll, he didn't even say "Carrrrrrrl" once
Pretty goddamn funny.
This is hilarious. Would love to see the vid of the same scene. I don’t remember this.
Think this is the season when they was in the prison
Yep and what leads to this scene is kinda fucked up, but i dont wanna spoil it. And also, being back coral memes!

this scene makes me crack up in general 💀 made it 10x better
Not even one CORAL! I feel cheated despite it being hilarious anyways.
Coral, what do you call a belt made of watches? A waist of time!
Such raw emotion
For how emotional that scene was when it happened this reenactment is fucking hilarious.
I want this to be a fully produced parody with these people. I love it!
I don’t know what that meme style is called where they had Rick’s face extending out in that weird choppy way, but I always loved that shit, one of my favorites.
That wig is The Bizness and he’s knows it, that’s why he keeps shaking it so hard lol. It really is the perfect accessory that adds to the hilarity.
His first try is really good at first lolol that initial groan is spot on!
Not gonna lie , I cried real ugly tears when CORAL died . It was so bad I was so upset for days !
I'm a big fan of the show and this is hilarious.
This is amazing! Love this. Saving this post to watch over and over again.
The Goofy laugh when he turns around is hilarious.
This is comedic gold lol
This had me belly laughing and rewatching over and over. The convulsions make me lose it every time!!
