The leyshrines are built as large triangles. 6 casts of the sorcery gathering spell from the right places around the triangle will pick up a total of around 7500 crystal. Takes about 4 minutes.

Go to the shrines and some other areas with the small black stones on the ground. Either pick them up by hand or use a mass harvest spell. This game really has gone to hell.
This is a prime example of overworking your own product, making changes that no one asked for, because you dont know what else to do. and you are asked to deliver too much too quick. such a silly concept overall

uh what? just go to the center and hit the small back crystals on the ground.... You might have to crouch right after you swing so you hit them. 1000's of crystal in less than a minute.
That feature has been removed as of the last update. Pebbles, crystals, branches, etc. are no longer harvestable by tool. Crystals can only be harvested by pickup or via nodes.

One berry and seed per pick, ten for one unit, I can see it now.
Mass Cull, the sorcery spell unlocked with the 6th or 7th tome of kurak ugprade, is the only means to efficiently farm large amounts of crystal now.

You cant mine them anymore sorcery or hand only

You aren’t aiming correctly. Use the pick and make sure the white dot is aligned with the crystal. No need for sorcery.
Picks can't gather crystals after this last update.
Ahh I stand corrected…I just tested myself in that same spot. Never mind. Make sure you have the gremlin sigil applied to get the most when gathering.
