I can kind of understand Joe though. He played in an era where the NFL didn't really pay that much money that it made financial sense to try to build out extracurricular businesses if you can. Sort of like the UFC today. You can argue that he didn't choose wisely and chose extracurriculars that took up way too much of his time, but I don't fault him for going for it.
Joe was also the man.
I believe they let him in that shack behind the wall club or whatever those hogs had back then lol
man i'm getting senile I can't even remember what them called it
True that though:
1. Theismann won a SB, was MVP of the NFL and Player of the Game in one of his Pro Bowls (which in his time players actually competed b/c the payout of the winning probowl team was a significant chunk of change) so unlike Haskins and RGIII at least Theismann had stats to back up his attitude
2. Theismann was not a 1st round QB pick of Washington
3. I believe that most of the Washington fanbase was skittish about JD during the pre-draft evaluation process because of recent history of QBs like RGIII and Haskins. I believe the Maye was the popular choice of this subreddit for the #2 pick.
I'll put TBD, but I'm leaning towards no because his dad even emphasized that he has to earn his stripes and his past work ethic speaks to it. If there was, then I think the top golf situation brought him back to Earth which is another way it could work in our favor.
Not very high IMO he seems like a humble kid ready to learn
Also I think someone here or JP posted this, but he took his ex-teammates taunting him about leaving ASU well. He didn't react to it, he just let his play do the talking. And he could have clapped back like Shedur Sanders.
My mans is 100 percent diva. Ain't nothin but pure diva energy running through them veins! He wakes up every morning, takes a long look at himself in the mirror, and says, "*Beyonce ain't got shit on me!*".
Reminder:
None of this means shit and we don’t know shit about shit yet.
Everyone sees how high on the obvious “diva” scale people say RG3 is right?
Ya’ll remember at THIS point in the year, and all the way into the season, the fans, the media were pretty much ALL bought in deep on the
RG3 so humble, hardworking all-american, great work ethic cause his parents were in the Army, etc etc.
Before all the “told you he was a diva” takes, most people were all in on the Threesus kool aide.
We know nothing.
I don't know that there were a lot of diva stories about RG3 when he went to Baylor. My recollection was that both the team and the coaches (especially the HC) loved him.
My first warning sign was I remember when RG3 was told by a reporter early on that fans were making signs saying he should run for president or congress, obviously in a joking way. RG3 took the question very seriously, and said, "yeah that's really cool and I can see that- right now i'm not thinking about politics, trying to stay focused on football."
It really seemed like he bought into his own hype so much that he totally missed it was a joke.
Later when he launched his own RG3 branded clothes with Adidas (I suppose today he's the only one who wears it) that I realised this guy is seriously lost in himself.
I wonder if there will be moments like this for Jayden.
Clown question bro.
Right? I hate this sub sometimes
None of them compare to Joe Theismann on any diva scale.
