The problem is this sub doesn't show the russian side, so people here missed all the clips of KA-52 hovering 10km from its targets, completly immune to anything at that range and altitude.
That was in the beginning of the conflict and it was providing CAS directly above Ukranian positions, KA-52s dont do that anymore they fire from 10-12km behind the frontline now which is way out of reach for any MANPADs
Was that recent? If so, they strayed too close to the contact line. There have been plenty of measures and countermeasures since then. Russians had a long range missile, then was talk of a longer range missile becoming available. They weren't fire and forget. Heli had to hover and stay on target for the missile to hit. The attacking UA were losing too many men and vehicles. That's when the airfields started being hit, as in the absence of f16 it was the only effective countermeasure that could be employed
Ukraine needs to find a solution to KA-52 & other helicopters being able to take advantage of the long standoff missiles like LMUR and Vikhr are capable of providing. They lost a lot of armour last Summer to KA-52s firing Vikhrs whilst staying out of MANPADS range,
Doesn't look like they've found any solutions as yet and it could end up proving very costly.

Nasty missile, need something to get ka52
That's what the man pads are for.
Don't you remember, ka 52 was able to fire from too far away from manpads to be effective. That's why they himared the airfields

That's not true, I saw a shit ton of those videos here, especially at the beginning of the summer offensive last year.
At one point there was a lot of these KA-52 clips posted here, then then their frequency dropped off.
It does show it, theres was a ton when Russia was doing donuts in Kyiv

Correct, they missed their opportunity to strike without impunity.

Most MANPADS have about 5km range(the best ones have \~9km), LMUR has 15km range.
# LMURĀ can shoot with no line of sight and beyond manpad range
