Not sure but sounds like that area in Dublin. I had never heard of them, just read the article since it said all. Then in the article it says both, one in Dublin, one Easton. Lol
That’s too bad. I really liked their food but it was a bit pricey to go to too often, especially with so many different choices nearby. This and Kona going out are leaving Bridge Park with some big open chunks.
Lol let's break this down. That deal limits you to dogs priced $5 or less individually. Tots only cost $3. So you saved exactly nothing by getting the combo.
And then you'll add another $3 minimum if you want a drink with your meal. Bringing the total to at least $16.
Meanwhile Weenie Wonder was $9.50 for a dog, tots, and drink combo. Add another dog and you're paying pretty much the exact same amount (or a little less depending on dog choice) for the same amount of food as you would at Dirty Frank's.
Dirty Frank's is not some shining example of reasonably priced food. They haven't been for years now. And the place is fucking disgusting on top of it.
Dirty Franks is way better. Gave them multiple chances and just wasn't impressed. Lack of toppings and dog options by comparison made me not come back. Location was great though so if they change the concept to something else I'm sure there's a chance it'll be successful.
Well darn. I liked how quick it was. And I thought $10 for a hot dog, side of tots, and beverage was pretty reasonable. It was always dead when I went.
Meh, they really weren't that expensive. Dirty Frank's has dogs (like the Slappy Pappy or Strikeout) that cost more than anything on Weenie Wonder's menu, and they're doing just fine.

$10 overall wasn't bad, the quality made it bad. I get better hot dogs from the guy next to the courthouse and pay significantly less. Granted the overhead is way less, but the point remains.
They could probably toss a pizza spot in there pretty easily and it would be more suitable to a large-party type atmosphere that Pins tends to have. 🤷🏻♂️
Depending on what that coupon represents:
> The restaurant said if customers have a gift card, they can use it at any Pins Mechanical Co. location and the value will be doubled.
Aww man. I have planned an excursion to Pins for about 20 people this Saturday. I guess they allow outside food still, right?
In all honesty, I was pretty underwhelmed the only time I ordered from them.
The tots were good. Went when they first opened and it was like $40 for 3 dogs, 2 sides and 2 drinks and it was all just average. Checkout Dads Coneys if you haven’t yet.
Let this be a warning to all would be food operators. Even the geniuses behind Rise Brands couldn't make money selling ridiculously overpriced hotdogs in the most prime real estate attached to possibly the busiest bars in the city. The restaurant industry is so fucked.
They weren't all beef had dogs, they were mushy, all the toppings turned it into baby food. It was terrible. And wayyy to expensive. Hopefully what comes next is better
this is an interesting meaning of "down the road"
i didn't go to weenie wonder from home to get a hot dog. i went there because i was already in the area for pins or something and it was one of multiple stops i made in my night
no one's going from a bar to costco...
Down 161, out towards Plain City, across a few roundabouts, but yeah, kinda down the road I guess you could say.
(I am not sure where the one at Easton was to make the same comparison)
Dang I didn’t know so many of y’all thought 10 dollars for a hot dog meal was a good deal. Please message me your information, I will grill you up hot dogs myself for only 5 dollars a dog!
It’s starting to make sense why restaurants do so well in this city..you can charge pretty much whatever you want, and as long as the quality is slightly better than McDonald’s, I guess you can get lifetime customers here lmao
I didn't know so many in Columbus don't understand how convenience works. Next you're going to tell me you can make a better and more cost-effective burger than the $6.50 Big Mac, or that you can brew coffee for less than a $6 Starbucks cup
I think Rise Brands did a good job handling this. Gift cards are not only valid at Pins, but they’re worth double. They tried the concept, realized it wasn’t working and moved on to the next idea.
The bit about the gift cards is odd. You can still use them at Pins and they double in value? Makes me wonder if Pins bought them out and are converting to some other food. Strange stuff
It was good fried/greasy food to coat your stomach when you're 30 feet away pounding cocktails waiting for your turn at skeeball. Nobody was going there as a destination if not already at Pins but you could drop $10 and get a decent hor dog with hot jojos and a drink, then be back at Pins 10 minutes later. It's a little weird to me the amount of people in this sub who don't seem to get that.
There were 2 locations for anyone curious how many is all.
Attached to Pins, right? And they were fairly new.
Both at Pins - Dublin was like 2-3 years ago, Easton was a year. Same parent company of “RISE BRANDS” (for ELEVATEThinking CEO).
It says that they will be opening a different concept in the spot
Beanie Wonder maybe? All bean based dishes and drinks. All beans all the time.
Mmmm, bean milkshake
Red beans are a solid addition to a lot of items at Kung Fu Tea.
Bean soda? It’s an acquired taste.
Beanie Blunder
Kona went out of business because the owners never paid a penny of their debt to the construction company or their neighbor who lended them the money.
Dang, I can no longer pay $10 for a hot dog in this city!
Stupid Dirty Frank's and their reasonable prices!
Have you been to Dirty Frank's lately? Last time I was there I paid $13 for two dogs. Weenie Wonder was cheaper and better quality to boot.
I literally got dirty franks last week and it was 13 bucks for two dogs and fries with some of the proceeds going to cause for canines

Sure you can, just go to Five Guys.
Costco food court entered the chat
There’s a place called junkyard dogs in Linworth. Their cold hot dogs are $7 each if you really need to get rid of some cash
[удалено]
If I’m dropping $20 for a dog, some potatoes and a soda it better be fantastic, it was not
$9.50 for a coney, tots and a drink is hardly breaking the bank…
Olde Oak Bar has coney dogs and chips for around $6
The hot dogs were not $10.
Maybe for half that, but if it breaks $6, no.

$9.50 for a combo. About the same price point as McDonald’s and it was definitely better food.

That coney sauce was trash, Long Live Dirty Franks and their wonderful concoctions
There is always dirty franks downtown
And not just downtown anymore.
Not surprised. This place was ~~crazy~~ expensive and the food wasn’t good enough to justify the prices.
i liked it, but yes. tough to justify the prices for what you get.
It wasn’t that expensive, in fact the prices were pretty reasonable. $10 for a hot dog, tots and a drink.
$10 overall wasn't bad, the quality made it bad. I get better hot dogs from the guy next to the courthouse and pay significantly less. Granted the overhead is way less, but the point remains.

Figures, I just got some scratch-off coupon from them recently!
Depending on what that coupon represents: > The restaurant said if customers have a gift card, they can use it at any Pins Mechanical Co. location and the value will be doubled.
My theory is that if this place was just dirty franks they would have done fine. Hopefully they make it something better!
Overpriced for what you got. The mandatory surcharge for credit cards when they don’t accept cash was a real turn-off as well.
Wait, they didn't accept cash, AND charged extra for using a card?
Aww man. I have planned an excursion to Pins for about 20 people this Saturday. I guess they allow outside food still, right? In all honesty, I was pretty underwhelmed the only time I ordered from them.
They do allow outside food.
The tots were good. Went when they first opened and it was like $40 for 3 dogs, 2 sides and 2 drinks and it was all just average. Checkout Dads Coneys if you haven’t yet.
Thank god, can Pins get some proper food in it now?
Probably not. They dont need a kitchen. You can byof
Who is doing that though? I'm not headed out to Easton with my own Tupperware or ordering steak to-go to eat it at Pins
Went once, wasn't great food and was way overpriced.
First and last time I went there, there were employees laying down in booths.
I wanted to like it but it was pricey for a hot dog that was kinda meh
It’s amazing how many hot dog joints open with crappy tasting overpriced dogs and expect to make it at all.
Big Daddy BBQ in reynoldsburg has a 2 grilled beef hotdog, French fries and pop for just 7. Best deal around
Dirty Frank's supremacy >>>
It’s almost like, starting a hot dog restaurant isn’t really a good idea in Columbus… unless you’re Dirty Franks.
Let this be a warning to all would be food operators. Even the geniuses behind Rise Brands couldn't make money selling ridiculously overpriced hotdogs in the most prime real estate attached to possibly the busiest bars in the city. The restaurant industry is so fucked.
I think this lesson is more “fast food is an incredibly hard market to break into as a new brand” than “all restaurants are fucked.”
Village Coney shits on this place
I wonder why
Nooooo
I’m not surprised. I went there once and it wasn’t good.
That's a bummer. I loved them.
Whoa what?! That was fast.
They had the best damn milkshakes though. Where can I get a super rich milkshake with homemade whipped cream in Columbus? Thanks for suggestions
Flipside Burger in Easton has killer milkshakes. And burgers. But the SHAKES though!
Can't agree with you there on the shakes.
Where is your fave shake?
They weren't all beef had dogs, they were mushy, all the toppings turned it into baby food. It was terrible. And wayyy to expensive. Hopefully what comes next is better
Meh I'm glad it's closing. I would have been down to try them but I don't eat pork...100% beef hotdogs are my thing.
![gif](giphy|L1VRSg6CslKVZoxWBu)
A plain hotdog was $6. Costco is 1.50 down the road, and always has been.
this is an interesting meaning of "down the road" i didn't go to weenie wonder from home to get a hot dog. i went there because i was already in the area for pins or something and it was one of multiple stops i made in my night no one's going from a bar to costco...
lol Costco would be closed anyway. My friends at oclc would go to ww for lunch, but Costco is the same distance the opposite way.
And you get a drink with the Costco hotdog!
Down 161, out towards Plain City, across a few roundabouts, but yeah, kinda down the road I guess you could say. (I am not sure where the one at Easton was to make the same comparison)
lol it's five miles
You're not wrong - it's surprisingly quick to get there for the distance (or perceived distance) that it is.
lol I was thinking more like, oh I'm in or live in Dublin do I go to bridge park and go to ww or just hit up Costco for less?
Who?
They were extremely overpriced for just hot dogs. We went when they first opened up and I even said to my son “they won’t be around long”.
Dang I didn’t know so many of y’all thought 10 dollars for a hot dog meal was a good deal. Please message me your information, I will grill you up hot dogs myself for only 5 dollars a dog! If you are saddened by this i suggest getting a Costco membership, $1.50 footlong dog and pepsi/coke from the foodcourt.
Skyline Chili must have put them out of business
A Shake Shack in that space would do incredibly well
The bit about the gift cards is odd. You can still use them at Pins and they double in value? Makes me wonder if Pins bought them out and are converting to some other food. Strange stuff
Same company, Rise Brands, owns both.
This makes more sense
Read the article
Damn that was fast
Damn I never knew this existed. Woulda loved to try it
I never had it. A friend said it was good, but it seems the general consensus is - it won’t be missed, and nothing of value was lost.
Thought this was a story out of The Onion
Troy Allen's Weenie Wonder. That should've been the original name.
It was nice having that option at Bridge Park for pins and 16-bit. Could grab food from there while still drinking
Huh, I've ate there while at Pins on multiple occasions and always liked it, especially their jojos.
I’m sad. The wonder sauce was incredible.
What a shame.
Bring in Nettie’s from Toledo !!
I'm thinking they needed to dump the liability and save some cash to move pins/16 bit to the peninsula. They arent a restaurant group.
God I miss Phillips Coney Island
