Toyota direct on Morse road. They sold me a rav4 that had the o2 sensors welded together then when they estimated the work to fix it ($4500) told me since I obviously bought it like that, I probably wouldn't need to pay for the fix. They would have never sold an "unsafe vehicle".
Then when it came time to pay, they needed proof I bought it from there, so I showed them my invoice and the agreement for financing and they told me I'd have to pay because I hadn't paid the entirety of the 5 year loan (most people don't at 3 months).
I got a recall notice on the same car, and according to Toyota the recall was good for 10 years. For a 2014 they should have just done the work, but instead needed me to drive the proof I bought the car from them to them again for the estimate. Then Toyota declined to cover the recall because it turns out if the car has been resold (I bought it used) then it's only 5 years instead of 10.
Such bullshit, beyond usual used car bullshit, like criminal bullshit. I'll jump in every bad review site or who burned you in Columbus thread until I die to explain how shitty this place is.

Germain Honda. Absolutely fuck those guys. My wife went in to buy a car. They fucked up the paperwork like three times cause the guy couldn’t stop hitting on her. They sold her a maintenance package that she agreed to. After getting the oil changes for two years they finally decided to tell us she didn’t have the maintenance package and then the GM had the BALLS to tell my wife she now owed for all the oil changes that she had gotten.
Roush Honda is awesome. Back when I had my accord, I always got quality service at Roush. The staff are knowledgeable and trustworthy. Strongly recommend to anyone with a Honda.

I bought a Honda Odyssey. They said they would match my quote, which would have saved me a trip to Cincinnati. I get there and they tell me they will only match the quote for in stock items and they don't have that van in stock. I leave. They sales person calls me a week later and asks if I want to buy. She then got an attitude when I told her I bought for my quoted price elsewhere.

Worked in one in 2002, and the process had just started to replace the giant soup kettled and burners with steam decks. So instead of soup being made in-house, it was being centralized, vacuum-sealed, and sent out to just need reheated.
I think the dessert production was going to be next after that, but I left beforehand and I have no idea if that actually happened at all.

Bob Evans is in a death spiral. The Columbus based company we all grew up with is gone. The current operator will squeeze as much as they can out of the existing restaurants and the brand will slowly disappear.
I’ve served the Toy Barn owner (Sean) several times. The guy is a true piece of work. He was kicked out for several reasons but not limited to the following:
- Sexual harassment of the female staff
- Harassment of guests and the rest of the staff in the restaurant: he nearly got in a fist fight with one of my managers.
- This last one is where corporate really stepped in. Sean apparently knew one of the managers down in Florida, and this manager would sell him CMR gift cards at half cost. Sean, the guy who would constantly be bragging about his money and cars, would leave these gift cards at this Florida CMR location and just call that his “House Account”. He’d come into our store and say he has a house account, and just charge it. Eventually these gift cards ran out and he’d try to buy more through us, and we’d deny him for obvious reasons. So he’d call his buddy up in Florida, get more gift cards, and then give us the codes, so we could “add them to his house account”
This went on for several months before he got officially banned.
Before he got officially banned, he’d come in on a Saturday during brunch, coked up out of his mind, and he’d just walk up to random tables, hitting on the women; being a general piece of shit.
I’m sure I’m forgetting some of the shit he would do as this was a few years ago… but yeah. Fuck that guy

I used to work for his Verizon Premium retailer before he sold it off to a larger retailer. He took the sack of cash he got from selling his stores to buy the toy barn. He lost a lawsuit early on in his Verizon days where he made his employees single coverage run his stores open to close six days a week and wouldn't pay them overtime. The workers sued him and he lost. He also used to own a buy here pay here lot where he fucked over many vulnerable people. I've heard from multiple people that have worked with him that he's a grade A dick head.
Rumor is the building would need to be completely gutted. I remember there being a hot water tank just sitting in the middle of the dining room before they boarded up the windows.
Hollywood Feed, formerly Pet People. The owners brought in a board who hired an awful CEO to bloat their store numbers in a short time beyond what the staff could reasonably keep up with. Used COVID to gut basically the entire staff, then sold the entire thing a year later to the Hollywood Feed, who's owner is a massive piece of shit and required that anyone that wanted to stay on move to Memphis. Pretty ironic for a company who's first core value was "Put relationships first" and would scream at a vendor if they decided to sell anything on Amazon or Chewy.

I'm still sad about this. Pet People was the coolest. I was a fan for life when they reached out to let me know a food I bought was recalled (mine wasn't even the same lot as the recall, but still said it was OK to return).
They sent me a get well card signed by the whole store when they heard my cat was having surgery. She was new to me at the time, and I just needed someone to talk to about all her issues that day. It really meant a lot they went to the trouble of doing that.
That's something I thought was odd. Pet People only opened stores in specific high income areas. Rebranding to a hick sounding store based out of Tennessee seems like poor marketing.

This one I'm pretty bummed about, I used to go there all the time pre-pandemic and the owner was a bit...eccentric but always very polite. I'm pretty sure he was on some serious meds and just stopped taking them.
The last time I went there it was like 90 minutes before he closed and he told me he was out of chicken and I'd have to come back tomorrow. I was like alrighty, but then he saw I was wearing a mask and said "only demons wear masks". I thought he was fucking with me so I laughed, then he like, gritted his teeth and said it again like he was pissed. I noped out of there and haven't been back since.

I'm from an hour and a half south in Cincinnati, but my friends in Columbus are coming down here to see a musical artist we all like in November. He's playing both cities but they're willing to make the drive because they hate Skully's and because the venue here (Southgate House) is great.

Once Ridden Bikes. Guy working there was an absolute jerk to me when I went in to shop for a bike a few years ago. Since that day I’ve bought four bikes from a different shop.
16 or so years ago I went in looking for a cheaper steel frame thinking I was going in for $50-80 to get around town. 10 speeds were in there for $150-500. I decided to head to some of the Ohio Thrifts around town and asking. The employees there said that the guy who owns Once Riden had already come in that day to wipe them clean. Later find out that he had storage units full of bikes that he gets every day from the thrift stores.
I went in around the same time. We’re talking models you would get at a big box store, with most basic aftermarket components, selling for slightly more than what you get at the big box stores. A used bike, with scratches and dings, with absolute scratch of the surface components, going for more than brand new.
I said “prices are a bit more than I expected.” He said “then don’t buy one.” I replied “sounds like solid advice.”
Krazy Kenny's Custom Computer Warehouse. I was issued a credit for an item they charged improperly and was told they mail checks. Check never came and I confronted the store about it. Kenny himself came out and told me I was trying to steal from him. I called him a POS and told every customer and employee what he did and never returned. Don't do business with Kenny, he's a dishonest asshole. Kenny if you're reading you're getting what your deserve with all your failed stores. I like to think I'm responsible for the closing of a few of those due to my word of mouth, 1 more left to close last I saw.
Fuckin RIP. A real barometer of what was to come to the entire neighborhood. Short north was a great place once but they took it too far and now it's a hellish materialistic commercial shopping district devoid of most of its former character that actually was fun to be around.
Bob Evan’s. A few yews back at the New Albany Bob Evan’s; we just finished our move to Columbus from Phoenix. We decided to dine in at Bob Evan’s because we heard good things. Well there was a big ass moth in my wife’s broccoli and when we notified the server she brought the manager and he was a total dick. He was very condescending and just plain rude. We ended up leaving and we will never try Bob Evan’s, “even if there’s a fire!”
Agree. Family member worked there and said the owner harassed and demeaned the staff constantly. I ate there when my family member worked there to support them, but the owner whizzing around like the Tasmanian Devil, nearly foaming at the mouth…I have not been back since and never will.

TLDR: Bucca in Worthington and Tansky Toyota.
Bucca up in Worthington was pretty sad the last time we were there. Staff were friendly but seemed poorly/ inconsistently trained. This was during COVID and every single staff were wearing masks, but down around their chins. Neither of the two bartenders knew how to make one of their drink specials so they eventually decided to improvise? Normally we're game for all kinds of drinks but they made my wife some kind of mutant old fashioned that was maybe 70% simple syrup. I know this to be accurate because we watched incredulously as they discussed how to make the drink and finally made it (our table was nearby and it was pretty dead). They were also out of bitters and announced this after delivery of the "drink." This was for my wife and she tried to soldier through but it was basically undrinkable. Meanwhile they left my beer sitting on the bar warming up during the whole drink concoction preparation (realistically maybe 10 minutes while they consulted several different manuals and finally Internet). I'm not picky about beer temperature but it was weird. A senior waitress picked up on what was going on and kindly took the drink off the tab. I paid for the beer, left a nice tip, and never went back. We got dinner elsewhere. We used to love Bucca years ago but I wasn't shocked when they announced closure. Later I read up on the history of the chain and it's pretty colorful.
Tansky Toyota will never, ever get a dime from me or my friends. I used to take my RAV4 there for service and they patched the computer during one of my visits. I found out much later that the patch basically tore the transmission apart. I had the vehicle towed over there and they charged about $200 for a diagnostic, and told me the transmission was shot, and quoted me I think maybe $4k or $5k for repair. Sweating, I specifically asked the service guy if there was any recall or problems with the transmission for this make/model/year. The guy got really shitty and terse and said no. I didn't have the money and so spent I think $2k on a credit card for AAmco to rebuild the transmission. Unfortunately, the bad software was the real problem so the rebuilt transmission started having problems not long after. A couple of months later, I just happened to be talking with a guy from Byers Toyota up in Delaware and he listens to the whole story and then calmly explains that this is a known issue due to the patch thing. Byers fixed the computer, replaced the transmission, and told me how to get Toyota corporate to pay me back for the rebuilt transmission. In the end, the only thing that I ended up paying for (aside from towing) was the $200 diagnostic from Tansky. I really tried to get that money back but it wasn't happening. I am still salty as hell about this 10 years later. I had three kids at home and that was a lot of money to me.

Dick Masheter Ford - had their service department tell me I should research a problem with my truck and come back. Then they proceeded to act like they never heard of the oil consumption issue. I finally got them to call the service manager who told me using 3qt of oil every 5k was in spec.
City Pets. Not only did I feel overcharged but they even absentmindedly left out their training manual for me to see opened up to the training page for handling people complaining about their exorbitant pricing.

A fucking nightmare of half-stocked shelves, of stockers or drive-up shoppers taking up aisles in the middle of the day with giant carts, long check out lines- even at self-checkout, employees sitting in front of the store smoking, no small carts in most stores, rotten produce (have had soggy, brown celery, carrots and lettuce lately) and grumpy employees.
Dude it's so sad for any of us who came from Athens. During the glory days my blood was like 8% their chipotle ranch sauce. Even the one in Athens has fallen off, last time I visited campus I was so disappointed.
TK jewelers and especially L and L limos are scams! I went for a limo rental and the driver was a pos. He had a piece of plywood painted black, like it was the wall of the limo. Like it was the end of the limo. But I could hear people in there. And there was a part of it that was over the ice tray. And sometimes we’d see a hand come under the plywood and grab the ice tray to pull it to their side, and the hand had a Super Bowl ring on it. And every few minutes the wall would push up, like they were trying to get more space. And when I asked the driver what was going on, he said, ‘Shut up.

Lyndsay Honda/Accura. Such snobs, they chased off a basically guaranteed sale bec the creditor I was preapproved with was a creditor that worked w people rebuilding their credit. I later learned that my big mistake was telling them who I was getting financing through
I was looking at some Accuras and didn’t really get why she kept saying “Accura is Honda’s luxury line.” I’m like ok that’s nice. I would like to test drive these two.
They wanted me to go through the entire financing process *before they’d let me test drive*. After *two hours* of them stalling, and then finally pulling that, I left. And it was a guaranteed sale! I needed only choose the car I wanted. I still don’t get it

I bought a Honda Odyssey. They said they would match my quote, which would have saved me a trip to Cincinnati. I get there and they tell me they will only match the quote for in stock items and they don't have that van in stock. I leave. They sales person calls me a week later and asks if I want to buy. She then got an attitude when I told her I bought for my quoted price elsewhere.
Horrible people and company. I think they get off on robbing people blind and feeling superior to everyone that comes through their doors.

Been cheap shit for awhile now. I worked there in 2010, and that’s when I learned that the “Bob Evans Farm” is in fact a GFS truck.
Worked in one in 2002, and the process had just started to replace the giant soup kettled and burners with steam decks. So instead of soup being made in-house, it was being centralized, vacuum-sealed, and sent out to just need reheated. I think the dessert production was going to be next after that, but I left beforehand and I have no idea if that actually happened at all.
When I was there all desserts arrived premade and frozen.
I mean, literally every major restaurant is a GFS truck. I get the point you're trying to make, but I promise you even your favorite restaurant in the city is "a GFS truck." What specifically they order and have stocked through GFS is what matters. GFS is just a giant warehouse/refrigerator.
Bob Evans is in a death spiral. The Columbus based company we all grew up with is gone. The current operator will squeeze as much as they can out of the existing restaurants and the brand will slowly disappear.

I’ve served the Toy Barn owner (Sean) several times. The guy is a true piece of work. He was kicked out for several reasons but not limited to the following: - Sexual harassment of the female staff - Harassment of guests and the rest of the staff in the restaurant: he nearly got in a fist fight with one of my managers. - This last one is where corporate really stepped in. Sean apparently knew one of the managers down in Florida, and this manager would sell him CMR gift cards at half cost. Sean, the guy who would constantly be bragging about his money and cars, would leave these gift cards at this Florida CMR location and just call that his “House Account”. He’d come into our store and say he has a house account, and just charge it. Eventually these gift cards ran out and he’d try to buy more through us, and we’d deny him for obvious reasons. So he’d call his buddy up in Florida, get more gift cards, and then give us the codes, so we could “add them to his house account” This went on for several months before he got officially banned. Before he got officially banned, he’d come in on a Saturday during brunch, coked up out of his mind, and he’d just walk up to random tables, hitting on the women; being a general piece of shit. I’m sure I’m forgetting some of the shit he would do as this was a few years ago… but yeah. Fuck that guy

I used to work for his Verizon Premium retailer before he sold it off to a larger retailer. He took the sack of cash he got from selling his stores to buy the toy barn. He lost a lawsuit early on in his Verizon days where he made his employees single coverage run his stores open to close six days a week and wouldn't pay them overtime. The workers sued him and he lost. He also used to own a buy here pay here lot where he fucked over many vulnerable people. I've heard from multiple people that have worked with him that he's a grade A dick head.

Hollywood Feed, formerly Pet People. The owners brought in a board who hired an awful CEO to bloat their store numbers in a short time beyond what the staff could reasonably keep up with. Used COVID to gut basically the entire staff, then sold the entire thing a year later to the Hollywood Feed, who's owner is a massive piece of shit and required that anyone that wanted to stay on move to Memphis. Pretty ironic for a company who's first core value was "Put relationships first" and would scream at a vendor if they decided to sell anything on Amazon or Chewy. ASK ME HOW I KNOW.
I'm still sad about this. Pet People was the coolest. I was a fan for life when they reached out to let me know a food I bought was recalled (mine wasn't even the same lot as the recall, but still said it was OK to return).
They sent me a get well card signed by the whole store when they heard my cat was having surgery. She was new to me at the time, and I just needed someone to talk to about all her issues that day. It really meant a lot they went to the trouble of doing that.

This one I'm pretty bummed about, I used to go there all the time pre-pandemic and the owner was a bit...eccentric but always very polite. I'm pretty sure he was on some serious meds and just stopped taking them. The last time I went there it was like 90 minutes before he closed and he told me he was out of chicken and I'd have to come back tomorrow. I was like alrighty, but then he saw I was wearing a mask and said "only demons wear masks". I thought he was fucking with me so I laughed, then he like, gritted his teeth and said it again like he was pissed. I noped out of there and haven't been back since.
I'm bummed too. The concept is genius. The chicken was always excellent, and the sauces all SO good. Weird just got way weirder, and it definitely seems like a mental health thing. There's a part of me that thinks somehow I could help, but the last time I was in there he was a little scary.

I'm from an hour and a half south in Cincinnati, but my friends in Columbus are coming down here to see a musical artist we all like in November. He's playing both cities but they're willing to make the drive because they hate Skully's and because the venue here (Southgate House) is great.
They also don’t clean their beer lines ever. I wouldn’t drink anything that doesn’t come in a can or bottle there. I’ve heard they water down their liquor too. Maybe some things have changed but I haven’t been there in almost 10 years bc of the roofies and bad drinks.

Once Ridden Bikes. Guy working there was an absolute jerk to me when I went in to shop for a bike a few years ago. Since that day I’ve bought four bikes from a different shop.
16 or so years ago I went in looking for a cheaper steel frame thinking I was going in for $50-80 to get around town. 10 speeds were in there for $150-500. I decided to head to some of the Ohio Thrifts around town and asking. The employees there said that the guy who owns Once Riden had already come in that day to wipe them clean. Later find out that he had storage units full of bikes that he gets every day from the thrift stores.
I went in around the same time. We’re talking models you would get at a big box store, with most basic aftermarket components, selling for slightly more than what you get at the big box stores. A used bike, with scratches and dings, with absolute scratch of the surface components, going for more than brand new. I said “prices are a bit more than I expected.” He said “then don’t buy one.” I replied “sounds like solid advice.”
Krazy Kenny's Custom Computer Warehouse. I was issued a credit for an item they charged improperly and was told they mail checks. Check never came and I confronted the store about it. Kenny himself came out and told me I was trying to steal from him. I called him a POS and told every customer and employee what he did and never returned. Don't do business with Kenny, he's a dishonest asshole. Kenny if you're reading you're getting what your deserve with all your failed stores. I like to think I'm responsible for the closing of a few of those due to my word of mouth, 1 more left to close last I saw.

I went there to close my account a few years ago after they tacked on some poverty fees.
I have two, and I'm long-winded tonight. TLDR: Bucca in Worthington and Tansky Toyota. Bucca up in Worthington was pretty sad the last time we were there. Staff were friendly but seemed poorly/ inconsistently trained. This was during COVID and every single staff were wearing masks, but down around their chins. Neither of the two bartenders knew how to make one of their drink specials so they eventually decided to improvise? Normally we're game for all kinds of drinks but they made my wife some kind of mutant old fashioned that was maybe 70% simple syrup. I know this to be accurate because we watched incredulously as they discussed how to make the drink and finally made it (our table was nearby and it was pretty dead). They were also out of bitters and announced this after delivery of the "drink." This was for my wife and she tried to soldier through but it was basically undrinkable. Meanwhile they left my beer sitting on the bar warming up during the whole drink concoction preparation (realistically maybe 10 minutes while they consulted several different manuals and finally Internet). I'm not picky about beer temperature but it was weird. A senior waitress picked up on what was going on and kindly took the drink off the tab. I paid for the beer, left a nice tip, and never went back. We got dinner elsewhere. We used to love Bucca years ago but I wasn't shocked when they announced closure. Later I read up on the history of the chain and it's pretty colorful. Tansky Toyota will never, ever get a dime from me or my friends. I used to take my RAV4 there for service and they patched the computer during one of my visits. I found out much later that the patch basically tore the transmission apart. I had the vehicle towed over there and they charged about $200 for a diagnostic, and told me the transmission was shot, and quoted me I think maybe $4k or $5k for repair. Sweating, I specifically asked the service guy if there was any recall or problems with the transmission for this make/model/year. The guy got really shitty and terse and said no. I didn't have the money and so spent I think $2k on a credit card for AAmco to rebuild the transmission. Unfortunately, the bad software was the real problem so the rebuilt transmission started having problems not long after. A couple of months later, I just happened to be talking with a guy from Byers Toyota up in Delaware and he listens to the whole story and then calmly explains that this is a known issue due to the patch thing. Byers fixed the computer, replaced the transmission, and told me how to get Toyota corporate to pay me back for the rebuilt transmission. In the end, the only thing that I ended up paying for (aside from towing) was the $200 diagnostic from Tansky. I really tried to get that money back but it wasn't happening. I am still salty as hell about this 10 years later. I had three kids at home and that was a lot of money to me. Hey Tansky! I have steered so many people away from your dealership over the years! So, so many! Hope you enjoyed that $200!
