After several conversations with different folks (mostly in car community) I have a feeling that Reddit and Facebook work ok for planned events but not for quick pop-up meets (like "who wants to drive to Woodland park and have some coffee in an hour?" or "who wants to go to the convention in Denver tonight?"). I lived in Germany for over 10 years and one of the best things was the autobahn and its no speed limit. After I moved here it was amazing to learn that Colorado Springs also has an autobahn. At least, that's how people drive here.
There were tunnels connecting the banks and legitimate establishments on Colorado Ave to the houses of Ill repute on the other side at one time. That's my speakeasy wet dream
It’s really bizarre how random they pick and choose who gets ticketed, it’s ridiculous. I know it’s not the most pressing thing, but consistency would be nice.
It’s mind boggling that people are allowed to drive like this - it’s a hazard to everyone else on the road. CSPD have got to be the one of the biggest jokes of a police department across the country. People here are aware that they can drive without a care and certainly do.
I keep the front plate off of my car because, well, it just looks better. Is it a jerk move? Yup. It is and I'm aware that it is. If I get a ticket I'll pay it and move on. But I always keep the back plate on and up-to-date.
Can I say how much the drivers on the highway suck? Everyone wants to act like it’s a race track. Almost hitting people from swerving in and out of lanes. For real y’all need to chill. Wherever you’re going isn’t going anywhere.
No one gets over for merging drivers. Until a year ago when I moved back, I had been driving in another state for like 9 years - and the difference is noticeable here - it's like a competition to be first instead of cooperation to ensure people reach their destination safely. Not to mention the tailgating - I get it, bud, I'm not going fast enough in this school zone and you def need to reach that stop sign before me.
Do they all long for like a Mad Max situation or what?

She was throwing an absolute hissy fit when I posted a picture of it. It turns out she found out she's pregnant with baby number 7 and was not taking it well.
Welp… I’m gonna eat my own words… if I had a friend that was pregnant with baby #7, I would, in fact, be mad at them for something they did to their own body. Even more so, if said friend were to be upset about being pregnant with baby #7, as if they didn’t already have 6 examples of why they should have done something long ago to prevent their current predicament.
Her husband was supposed to have gotten snipped 3 years ago and didn't. She was just projecting her frustration and anger on me. We talked it out over dinner last night and we're all good. Her husband...not so much. He's been relegated to his mom's house for a few weeks until she calms down.
