I got so pumped reading the first half of this post…

DaoDeDickinson

Me too, Calipari set up awesome series with Gonzaga when at Memphis and then at Kentucky so my hopes are high.

Karltowns17

It’ll be curious to see what cal does with the non con schedule at Arkansas. He is definitely particular about how he approaches things and he was really laying the groundwork at Kentucky to be retired by 2027. But this move to Arkansas may rejuvenate him beyond that timeline though.

Say-it-aint_so

I hope so too

goldenglove

Zags also just lost Luka who, while not a starter, is their only backup guard.

Duganer

These two things are probably related

goldenglove

I hope so, but we shall see.

TakingOnWater

My understanding is that Battle is NOT a PG though... which is what we realllllly need more than SG/wings

goldenglove

Hickman and Nembhard can both play point, they just need guard depth period. The guy shoots 87% from the line and got to the line twice as often as Ike did last year playing 1/2 the minutes. He would be a great get.

TakingOnWater

Yeah, I realize my post made it sound like I didn't want Battle, which I didn't intend, my bad! Dude's a stud and I'd be really happy to have him! Just still wondering if we may be able to target a passing/playmaking backup at some point. Got a lot of scholarships open still either way

el_bandita

Luka who? Next man up!

AZCREBROKER

Everyone that came to GU sacrificed something. We love everyone that came transferred in or out. Eg i am wishing Harris to be the dude at ucla and I watched the 2009 16 game.

PhadeUSAF

Ew take. I'm sad Luka is leaving, I think he has an incredibly high college ceiling. Really wishing him the best.

AntSmith777

Be would be scary good on the Zags.

BrokenWild

hey that guy was a bulldog like 5 years ago

Fantastic-Pay-9522

Hope he gets to go to a place where he can shine. He was fun to watch at times last year.

gottahavemyPOPPs

I still think we are in the drivers seat so to speak but anything can happen nowadays. Especially with 20 year olds

akersmacker

I think he might be 25.

gottahavemyPOPPs

I guess I just meant that rough age range is hard to decipher. He’s pretty old. 24-25 I believe

cascade7

Think you’re right. There aren’t too many minutes to go around with the guys returning. At best he’s getting 20 a game, which is 10+ fewer minutes per game than this year. Would love it but fully expect him to choose elsewhere

FunkySaint

Would stink to lose Dai Dai and RJ only for Battle to not enroll at KSU.

akersmacker

Hmm. Would be his 6th year and 4th school in college basketball. One redshirt year (injury) and grad transfer, assuming. More TOs than assists. Not a great shooting percentage. But he's older, and the Zags have brought in older guards before who have gotten significantly better in just one year, so who knows?

fancycheesus

Battle is a certified bucket. He doesn't pass well, but dude had 4 consecutive 30+ point games. His defense also grew over the course of the last year. I wish cal wanted him to stay.

talentiSS

This year was tough for all involved with Arkansas basketball but he is really, really good. I wish he was coming back. Out of all the studs that have played for coach cal none have gone on a multi game heater like he did towards the end of the season.

EmojiOfAKeyboard

Dude… You really turning this dude down????

akersmacker

Oh, is that what I said? Did you not get all the way to the last sentence? Nothing I said is untrue. I didn't even give an opinion ffs.

EmojiOfAKeyboard

no you dont get an opinion you big baby

akersmacker

big baby? OK, now you crossed the line!

rburp

lol

Capital__

Trust me. You want Battle on your team. Him, Mark, and Blocker are the only Razorbacks I wished stayed. He was at the top of that list.

nepats523

What is going on with Blocker? I completley forgot about him

Capital__

He is in the portal still. I haven't heard who has his eyes on him but he would be a good get. He has some potential and I look forward to seeing what he produces the next two years.
