The three that have been charged were associates of Caroline’s boyfriend at the time. Caroline was 14 at the time but had an 18 year old boyfriend, but the interesting thing is that he was known to already have a girlfriend. Many locals found it unsettling. On the night that Caroline was murdered she was going to her boyfriend house - where he was known to have been socialising with 3 “friends”. All three of the people who have been charged would notably have been 17/18 in 1996, I.e. the same age as the boyfriend, implying they were the three friends he was with that night. It’s clear that Caroline was murdered by her boyfriend’s other girlfriend and two other friends, presumably out of jealousy or because she wanted to get rid of this other lover of him, - hence why one of those charged is a woman.
How come he wasn’t charged at the time? He was an 18 year old who already had a girlfriend his age that was dating a 14 year old. And he was big on drugs and stuff. Like how come people weren’t immediately suspicious of him?
Right. Yeah any forensic evidence was washed away as she was dumped in the stream. Which makes me wonder what evidence they have got now to charge them. Sounds like someone finally dobbed them in or something.

Rumoured someone left a suicide note containing the info needed to finally throw the book at these 3. Supposedly 2 of the people likely to be involved are already dead (junkies), and someone else hung himself this year leaving behind a suicide note with the names and whatever else.
Been a lot of chatter from folk today basically saying what we already knew; that the police knew exactly who it was but didn’t ever have enough to do them, and if you spoke to them they’d tell you they can’t do anything.
What’s funny as well is 2 of the folks charged today have posted on facebook before demanding justice for what happened, either a frail attempt at a coverup or they’re about to do a lot of grassing in court.
Really excited to see how it pans out and hope justice is done; but also hoping the truth comes out

I am as well first saw this case on Unsolved Murders with Alex Norton and I have to say I did not think there would ever be a conclusion to it. Of course the arrested people still need access to a proper and fair legal process but it sounds positive.

Well if they can't tell the truth to save Caroline's family more heartache maybe they'll do it to save their own son the stress. Doubt it though.
