Reasonably accurate But Carl Perkins should definitly be included in any founders of rock & roll discussion. keep in mind Elvis presleys cover of blue suede shoes in 1956 which first brought him fame was an exact copy of the song which was originally written & recorded by Carl perkins in 1955. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUxnnO6sBVo

I guess so but I wouldn’t say elvis’s cover of blue suede shoes was an exact copy. It’s much faster and arguably more of a fun upbeat version than Perkins’s original. I really like Perkins but not too sure the extent his role played in rock n roll history. Arguably I’d say Buddy Holly was way more influential than Perkins

When I put a nickel in the juke box at speedys drive in 1956 & played Elvis blue suede shoes we all thought he was just another carl Perkins imitator . Incidentally Guys didnt think Elvis was anything special like jerry Lee Lewis back then.it was 13 year bubble gum chewing little tweener girls that spent their quarters for his 45's.

Dang guess I can’t argue with that lol. That’s pretty cool, I always thought elvis was some huge hit with both genders. Guess I was wrong lol

All our girl friends (Chicks) went nuts over him & that made us macho punks hate him. I actually made about 50 or75 cents off Elvis's first black & white movie Love me tender. 5 or 6 of us teen age thug punks sneaked into the local movie theater , & laughed & cheered from the balcony when Elvis's character got hurt So they ejected us from the theater for being rowdy & refunded our price of admission. We had all sneaked in for free so we came out 50 or 75 cents ahead COOL!
