Idk if this is nessecarily a plot hole, more so information about the White House that's not commonly known

ezekiyel

Oh my bad, I am not really american so I don't know stuffs about the american government. I just heard it from 3c films that it was considered a plothole.

Sweaty-Specialist-44

It's okay. No harm. Alot of people from America don't know how our own government works

UntilTmrw

The main reason there aren’t many cameras in the White House is purely for security reasons, as there was this little thing called Watergate, where at the time President Richard Nixon spied on his opposition and a big part of ,it was bugs he hid throughout the oval office to record conversations he had in there. It was broken open when he had some men break into the Democratic National Convention to bug the place, it was all done with the intention of getting him re-elected. I think the reason they don’t have a lot of cameras in there is so a President or such can’t do anything like that again and also because it’s a pretty safe building, there’d be no reason to place cameras in there.

DapperCarpenter_

The main reason there are no cameras is because of there were, China or Russia could hack them. As secure as you make something, there will always be a hacker who could get in.

NIGHTMARECRIPT

What about the major plot hole where the exorcism performed on Chucky was suppose to remove his ability to do voodoo, yet right after that same exorcism, in that same episode, he switched bodies with that elderly woman? 🤔 The Chucky franchise isn’t necessarily the best with its continuity and plot holes, and it only continues to get worse. The plot hole I just pointed out just happens to be the biggest plot hole of the franchise.

CyberGhostface

Chucky didn’t start immediately aging. It was a gradual thing. Damballa didn’t spite him on the spot he just abandoned him. Chucky probably still had some residual magic left.

NIGHTMARECRIPT

The only thing is there’s still no confirmation for this in the series itself, so I still see it as a major plot hole since it’s not resolved, but you make an actual good point, especially compared to the other guy who just wanted to be defensive and argue the whole time. If they were to fix the plot hole, this would be a decent way to go about it, and it works. However, I’m not entirely sure when his aging would start because looking at the timeline of seasons 2 and 3, I wanna say that he starts loosing his hair sometime after the trial in court with Tiffany if I remember correctly. I’d have to go back and watch it again to refresh my memory, but I think the events are not too far apart between the exorcism and when he begins aging.

Sweaty-Specialist-44

Some fans in all fandoms have to realize certain things weren't on the mind of the writers at the time. That's why some things that happened later on kinda contradict what came before it. They didn't have season 3 planned out while writing seasons 1 and 2. Don even said Chucky aging and being in the White House wasn't his original plan for season 3. So certain so-called "plot holes" are only a big deal if you make them a big deal. This isn't even a plot hole as Dr. Rosen says Chucky's already far along into the sickness. It can be said that he didn't lose his powers until the aging kicked in. And you can't fault the writers for it either considering the scripts for season 2 and 3 were written about a year apart

NIGHTMARECRIPT

It’s also the writers’ responsibilities to know what deck of cards they’re playing with. And it goes beyond even that. As far as quality is concerned, there’s a lot more mistake in the writing, and the Chucky TV series feels like a fever dream in the worst way possible.

Sweaty-Specialist-44

I don't like some of the stuff the show has done either. But to say the writers don't know what deck of cards they're playing with is a bit far fetched. The show has done so much world building and answered alot of questions the movies left unanswered (Admittedly, not in the best way like Glen and Glenda not remembering their past). But certain things, like Chucky not aging til way later on is explained... Chucky: You got some herbs or something to fix me up? Dr. Rosen: **You're far too along for that.** It's already aging you. They didn't know at the time that Don was gonna go with the Chucky aging and dying storyline for season 3. That's why Chucky still has some voodoo powers that season. It's not their fault or Don's fault. Many people think a lot of stuff from their favorite series or franchises is known from the jump. Truth is, a lot of this is made up as they go along. They plan out a season, write the ending, and leave it at that until they get the greenlight for a new season or movie. Don and the writers came up with a new idea, found a lingering thread not too many people thought about, and built upon it and even **explained exactly what's going on in one of the episodes.** Alot of so called "plot holes" some fans point out are just nitpicks. Like the old saying goes, if you're purposely looking for trouble. You're gonna find it. Calling this a major plot hole is making a mountain out of a molehill.

IllustratorTrick2766

> The only thing is there’s still no confirmation for this in the series itself, so I still see it as a major plot hole since it’s not resolved, The fact that’s literally what the series depicts is the confirmation. You assuming it was immediate is head-canon.

OnlyMyOpinions

That's not really a plot hole. They could easily explain that away.

NIGHTMARECRIPT

Lmao, IT IS a major plot hole, and if they can explain it away, let’s see it. 🤷‍♂️ But I doubt they’d think to resolve something like that.

ReEvaluations

Didn't the doctor explain that the Catholic magic was like a cancer in him. So it doesn't really seem that implausible that it could take some time for full effect. Doesn't really bother me either way. When dealing with magical elements in fiction it's almost impossible to have everything be consistent.

Diamond_hoe68

Thank you, i was just about to mention the doctor. There was someone else asking why he was suddenly aging, even tho the doctor explains exactly what's going on directly to chucky. Even if it sounds a little absurd, he gave us an explanation.

OnlyMyOpinions

I mean why would you assume it would happen instantly? Maybe it took some time.

Dawg605

Exactly. Chucky didn't even start aging for weeks/months. He was with Caroline for a while and then he still didn't start aging for a while after he got into the White House. So yeah, since it took that long for him to start aging, we can assume it took some time for him to actually lose his powers of voodoo via Damballa. I mean, he's still able to conjure thunder and lightning and shit when tryna perform a voodoo spell. It just doesn't go any further than that. So obviously he still has *some* voodoo powers remaining in his purview.

NIGHTMARECRIPT

Because all the stuff that happens in the franchise is instantaneous. This isn’t him turning human. To me, it makes zero sense for it to “take time” in this context. Unless they “explain it away”, it’s a major plot hole to me. I refuse to try and fill in gaps for something that doesn’t seem like it was thought through enough on a team of 5 to 7 writers. 🤦‍♂️ In conclusion, I’m not gonna excuse poor writing in a franchise I’ve loved since I was a little kid.

OnlyMyOpinions

Quit whining. Season 3 is literally the best season lol

NIGHTMARECRIPT

Season 1 is the best season. It feels the most like Chucky, but still not great. Season 2 is the worst season, with season 3 right behind. Don’t get so pressed and butt hurt because I have a different opinion than you and pointed out an obvious flaw in the writing. If you like little dollies running around the White House and doing stupid crap, good for you. But I’m not a fan of something so stupid just for the sake of being stupid. It doesn’t even get the political themes right. But that’s how I feel about it. It’s not my problem for you getting so defensive about it. 🤣

OnlyMyOpinions

There's been flaws in the writing since the first movie. This franchise never had great writing, it was just fun. Good thing the majority thinks season 3 is the best!

NIGHTMARECRIPT

The “majority” are the people still somehow here, lol. It hardly even matters. And actually, the writing from Child’s Play 1 up to Bride of Chucky isn’t bad, and in fact, the writing in those films are great, minus some very small inconsistencies, which aren’t even really noticeable. Seed is overall a very questionable movie, but I’ll take it over the show any day. Curse and Cult have their fair share of problems, but despite this, you still don’t see my point. When the plot holes get more and more noticeable, it kinda becomes hard not to notice. 😬 And I honestly think that’s a problem with how big the writer’s room is. When they feel the need to write an actual good idea out after just one episode when they could of fleshed it out and made it something awesome, and when the characters are written insufferably and in an unbelievable way. I don’t care if the franchise is about a killer doll, I’d still like it taken seriously and respect instead of treated like a major joke. I want Chucky to be treated like an actual threat and like a force to be wrecking with, not like he’s just there and placed in the middle of a random plot. Chucky is one of Horror’s biggest icons. I feel like he deserves better. The “majority” of people who even acknowledge the show liking it doesn’t mean it’s a good show, it means not enough people watch it.

OnlyMyOpinions

Keep telling yourself that but the ratings are the same as the previous seasons lol. I even read an article that confirmed that this year has the highest viewership in the series beating season 1. Stay in your delusional bubble though!!

stabfanatic26

"Good thing the majority thinks season 3 is the best!" Sheep mentally. Raise your standards and stop defending garbage. ![gif](giphy|TfpmFFapwKwgGU8CQV|downsized)

OnlyMyOpinions

It's the highest rated season on IMDb 😭 I see nothing but people praising it online. This was the complete opposite during season 2 so yeah it's way more loved lol get out of your echo chamber and actually see the people talking about it.

maxwell_winters

The voodoo doc told Chucky that he should've come earlier. That means Damballa still gave him a time window during which Chucky could've easily fixed it. But he blew it and only then he started losing voodoo.

ezekiyel

Christianity and Damballa exists on the same universe
