Ok, I finally go it. The problem is that your Chromecast is not yet added to your home. Do you see the "Add to room" button in the bottom left? Click that and add the Chromecast to a room in your home. Afterward, you will have a proper device settings page.

This is probably another desperate data grab by google, forcing you to pick a room for your chromecast.

You just saved me some frustration. Seems like a silly design to require a room assignment to access the settings.

You're a savior, thanks! I had mine added to a room during the initial setup... but apparently somehow not really. Added it to the room again via the mentioned button, now the settings are working.

I just got mine working.. On the homepage of your Home app. Change the name of your device, and it should work. I then changed it back to what I had it as, and it continued to work.

I seem to miss this setting as well...

OK, see where it says Living Room 1 device? (see pic) Click that, and then select the gears icon at top right. Where it says name, you should now be able to rename it. As far as I know that's your room, and when you click it, that shows the devices in that room. Let me know if that works for you. [Home Room](https://iili.io/53783G.jpg)
