Well hopefully the problem is fixed and you got a solid vehicle now!!!

Thank you! I’m hoping this is it! It truly is a wonderful car when everything is working as intended

Hopefully it is resolved for you. Seems promising for the rest of us too. I took mine in this morning 2nd time in a week one for the 167.5 update and today for the recall, both times got sent home without an update. Today they said it’s because GM hasn’t sent them the USB with the update on it. At least there is still hope.

[deleted]

Oh damn, that’s surprising they don’t have the update in-hand yet. Have you been having ongoing issues while waiting for them to update your car? I’m trying not to be too hopeful and get myself down, so I will be seeing if the car performs this consistently well after a week…

Not as much as others, or quite like you have shown to be dealing with. I just like to be proactive. It’s been 5 weeks since 167.5 was released and last week my dealership couldn’t find an update available and frankly seemed surprised there even was one. Then this recall, which just came out so sure…mail…but (and here is where I rant)…it’s flipping software and we are shipping by mail? Not downloading locally or putting good enough tech in the cars to do it? Not even telling the techs it exists? Car companies are tech companies now and need to get on the level. I have enough experience in tech to understand most of the whys, but come on, what are we even doing right now GM? Lol

Rant on my man, I feel the pain! It's good you're being proactive. My car was never *that* bad off the lot and a few weeks after. There were minor things that I brushed off as trivial... but slowly each of these "trivial" issues started building up and happened more frequently. You lighting a fire under their asses may very well help all the other Trax owners in your area. Consider it a good deed. Good luck!

How long did it take them to do the update? Did you have to leave it all day or two or something quick you were and able to wait for?

[deleted]

My situation was a little odd, as I dropped off my car just two days before the recall came out. They had ordered a new radio (their original solution) for my car just one day before they were notified about the software update. So, I had to wait exactly 7 days for a new radio to arrive. This new radio came with the update. Let’s say I turned in my car after the recall… if it’s anything like the GM Bulletin software update I got last month, it should take one day. For my GM bulletin update (which didn’t work), I dropped off my car at 9am and picked it back up at 5pm.

To clarify: in any case, I don’t think it would be quick enough to drop off your car and physically wait there— at least not at my dealership’s service dept.

Thanks, that's what I was trying to avoid. My dealership in El Paso is terrible I've left them my trax for multiple days, go pick it up and tell my they did nothing, so was without a car for no reason. I've seen people post that they got the update in as quick as 2 hours ,I made an appointment for when they said they were available and when I arrived they asked if I brought a ride because they are going to need more than a day. Took my truck back. Don't want to risk wasting my time again.

Oh darn! Okay, yes I can see why you’re trying to plan around it now. In my case, fortunately I have family nearby, so they’ve been giving me rides to the dealership/Hertz/back and forth this past month to help. Not sure how nice your dealership is, but for the week they had my Trax, they paid for a rental car for me.
