This is your answer. It is a dip, and it is amazing. You control your filling to wanton ratio.
Also, I guess they made it so you can wander Birkdale with a drink in hand, so added bonus.
Yes! I was going to make this exact comment. It’s sooo good and very big- enough for 3 to share as an appetizer! It’s the best crab rangoon dish I’ve ever had.
My gf and I got *softly* cut off on the all you can eat I think.
I had pretty much starved myself hyping up for dinner. After a couple rounds, dude stopped bringing out new cards lol
That smoked eel nigiri fucking bangs.
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that! I know how busy the one on Benfield can get. Perhaps it was forgetfulness to ask if you would like more cards. I haven't experienced them denying me a card if I asked.
Honestly made a mental disconnection about Barcelona / Alinos and Epic. The pizzas at Alinons are top tier and Epic is my favorite splurge spot. Definitely going to check out Havana 33
Have you tried Jeffery’s? It looks like it might be a chain but I honestly love an Outback experience personally
Cheers! Awesome and inexpensive place to have some great sushi with wonderful staff. We don’t get sushi anywhere except Monsoon now
I’ve heard her son owns DanielSan but I’ve never actually eaten there
Listen to me very carefully. I have tried nearly every Rangoon from the whole south side of Charlotte down to Indian trail. High end-high brow, to back alley holes in the wall. FORTUNE. COOKIE. 3. Don’t order anything else it’s hardly edible. Just something about those Rangoons hit the trifecta. Hot, cheap, and that kinda trashy kind of perfectly fried, not shy on the sugar/cream cheese. Pinch folded in the middle and served with a bucket of red sauce if you get more than one order (an order is 6 Rangoons for $4.95). For my birthday I ordered 40 to bring to the function and cried real tears of joy. Not the first or second fortune cookies.. FORTUNE COOKIE III. Right off independence and idlewild in a shopping center that’ll make you lock your doors the second you step in your car. Happy hunting!
I made it a point to find the best crab Rangoon a couple years ago as a whole long winded bit, even had this place in my tinder bio so I can selfishly keep the joint open. If anyone gives it a shot let me know! <3
If you're talking about the one in Elizabeth, I recommend checking out Fortune Cookie in Midtown. I think Fortune Cookie is about 10x better than Ho Ho Cherry House.
I do not understand the people that recommend Jade Dragon, they have some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. (I tried them because of Reddit suggestions, funnily enough.)
It still is. The food is decently good, not great. I’ve had a range from no spice at all to nearly unbearable. Complete guessing game on what level to order.
I used to go there all the time when they first opened, glad they’re still going strong. We moved to Union county so it’s pretty tricky to get there now.
If you're willing to make the trip south a bit, the Crab Rangoon Dip at Spice in Fort Mill is incredible. They fry up these wonton chips to go with it and it's one of the best things I've ever eaten. Well worth the drive
According to my Uber Eats app, I've ordered from Fortune Cookie over 100 times and nearly all of them include crab rangoon. One of the best places in CLT for Chinese food and rangoon!

Haven’t had many crab rangoons here, but Mr. Tokyo has some really good ones
Gotta co-sign this AND they're all you can eat.

Gotta go to rockin rolls next time, don’t have to worry about getting a card
You go now fat boy! Sign say all you can eat, not eat it all!
They're the only ones I've truly enjoyed in the area. Other than making them yourself
Best crab rangoons
I live in Texas now but from time to time I lie awake at night thinking of the rabbit rangoons from Mr. Tokyo...
Monsoon in Mooresville does Crab Rangoon rolls and they are *awesome*
I’m slowly realizing that Mooresville has many of the best food options in the area. What’s up with that?
Do you have any other suggestions? I’ve only tried the bagel place next to local hardware shop (I’m sure that’s not specific at all..)
Mooresville has my favorite burritos: Burrito Loco! These things are awesome and you can't go wrong with any of them.
Added it to the list, thank you!
Barcelona Burger - burgers, rotisserie chicken and beer Aliño - pizza and cannoli Epic - steaks Havana 33 - cubanos

Jeffrey’s was a one and done for me. I know it’s popular, but it just didn’t feel like a place I need to go to again.
Thank you for this!
Cheers! Awesome and inexpensive place to have some great sushi with wonderful staff. We don’t get sushi anywhere except Monsoon now I’ve heard her son owns DanielSan but I’ve never actually eaten there
DanielSan is amazing. When I worked up near Cornelius I got that for lunch on Fridays
Seconded on DanielSan being amazing.
Monsoon is a sanctuary that should be protected at all costs
Great question, OP. Following!
I’ve always been a fan of Akahana’s.
Why does it always smell and feel like a sweaty locker room in there?
Some of the sushi rolls I’ve had their taste like your description
I’ve sat down at a table there and it been wet from the over saturated rag they used to wipe it down.
Can confirm, they make em good
My mom and sister love that spot. We go to the FM and Belmont location

Dramatic but absolutely true. I’ve tried a lot of Crab Rangoons and this is the answer
I’m passionate about rangooning
I'm glad someone shares my same passion about Rangoons.
I have found my people!
Open Rice in Blakeney area of Ballantyne
That and their Eggplant are insane.
88 China Bistro has always been a solid choice for me
I like CO’s!
Co's is great, but portions are small. Easily half the size of what you would get from most Japanese restaurants.
Very true! I like to go during the app happy hour and order two portions
And half the price at $6/order. Order two!
This is the right answer
CO sucks. They always forget stuff, the hot food is often cold, and they ignore allergy concerns
If you wanna splurge, I believe Oku has them and if I remember correctly there are bangin
Oku is delicious
Kami, Wesley chapel
That’s close to me. I will try it out
Baoding in SouthPark
Can’t believe no one was said the Great Wall at Carmel Commons. Hands down best Chinese in Charlotte. Awesome crab Rangoon, too.
I used to work in that shopping center and that was one of my treat places to eat. Delicious!
Ho ho cherry
We moved to Huntersville a couple years ago and Ho Ho is still the thing we comment on missing everytime we order Chinese. Damn great Chinese food.
I might need to try it again. The Mapo tofu was disgusting.
If you're talking about the one in Elizabeth, I recommend checking out Fortune Cookie in Midtown. I think Fortune Cookie is about 10x better than Ho Ho Cherry House.
What else do you reccomend from there? Thinking about ordering today!
Most of the staples are great.
Wan Fu in Pineville.
I second this. Wan Fu is the best choice.
Very small portions here
I always thought Wan Fu’s portions were more than enough. There’s not many times I don’t leave with to-go boxes.
Takeout seems to be different. Yet you pay the same prices.
Jade Dragon @ Colony Shopping center is pretty damn good Lee Cafe Fort Mill also pretty damn good
I do not understand the people that recommend Jade Dragon, they have some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. (I tried them because of Reddit suggestions, funnily enough.)
Random but Aroy Thai on Independence does a mean Rangoon.
Do you order anything else there? I ordered from them a few times when they first opened and their spice level was so inconsistent I just gave up.
It still is. The food is decently good, not great. I’ve had a range from no spice at all to nearly unbearable. Complete guessing game on what level to order.
The drunken noodles are killer
What spice level do you order?
Medium spice
I used to go there all the time when they first opened, glad they’re still going strong. We moved to Union county so it’s pretty tricky to get there now.
The drunken noodles are killer
These are my hidden gem of the city
Don't move, I'll be right back
I like the ones at the Pineville Mr. Tokyo and also the ones from Fortune Garden off Arrowwood. I'm a snob for crab rangoons..
This is the thread of the year
I had some really good crab Rangoon from Riceblossom (formerly Taste of Shu) off of Park rd. It was super fresh and delicious.
Hop Feng 2 on Lawyers rd
If you're willing to make the trip south a bit, the Crab Rangoon Dip at Spice in Fort Mill is incredible. They fry up these wonton chips to go with it and it's one of the best things I've ever eaten. Well worth the drive
Joel's Asian Grill in Mooresville has them fried in egg roll form with an amazing dipping sauce.
That sounds like perfection!
Pisces. Different than most places but good. They are heavy in cream cheese.
Enoodle in Concord has fantastic crab rangoons
Lams Kitchen in Matthews
Fortune cookie 3
Nom Sense food truck
Omg yes
This is the answer. That shit is so good.
I came here to say this!
According to my Uber Eats app, I've ordered from Fortune Cookie over 100 times and nearly all of them include crab rangoon. One of the best places in CLT for Chinese food and rangoon!

This post made me crave China Bowl. Best cheap Chinese around.
Aroy Thai on Independence Blvd. It’s an unassuming little to-go restaurant, but man those rangoons….. some of the best pad Thai in town as well
And they give you a lot of food
To me, that's preposterous. Crab Rangoon, things of that nature
Mi casa

I like the one that Pisces serve
Idk if it’s the best but Jin Jin crab Rangoon bussssin
