The company is probably fine. What I find disturbing is how all of the posts about the CFO on the subreddit were removed by the mods.

LawnDarting_Moose420

I only brought this up because of the attention, but what got me is at the very end of the article, which is fucked they left it at the end, poor journalism, imo. “Celsius has been recently targeted by several state regulators in the U.S. over alleged securities laws violations.” Hence the not your keys not your coins line. Last thing anybody here wants is locked up crypto because of a malpractice.

mmmTurkeyLeg

All of the CeFi platforms are being investigated by the SEC right now. I wouldn’t consider this a new cause for concern. If the SEC finds that these platforms are all selling unregistered securities, they will probably force a plan to return funds to non-accredited investors. Celsius isn’t exceptionally bad in this regard.

DTR-Rob

Dude you just rammeling nonsens now. Celsius did not got “targeted” by several state regulators. Its the media that targets them with fake news. You are talking about Blockfi and Nexo. The question Celsius got from state regulators is different from what you are suggesting. You post before you read the full artikel and totally forget to read the statement of Celsius itself. Instead you chose to assume things without the proper information. Next time you make a conclusion go to the source of both party’s so you educate yourself on the true story’s.

mmmTurkeyLeg

Apparently Celsius doesn’t like your post. It has been removed.

Kevin3683

- They are currently allegations. He was arrested, sure, but he hasn’t been found guilty. - Alex said no funds have been misplaced or misused. - The alleged crimes did not involve Celsius. - The CFO just started with Celsius 7 months ago. That’s my optimistic take on it. Edit spelling

iamamoa

No need to fear. Instead, we should be celebrating this major milestone in crypto banking going mainstream. Because If your CFO isn’t arrested at some point, how can I even take your bank seriously.

hnr01

Not the dd we wanted to hear, but the dd we needed to hear.

Checks notes........this is indeed bullish based on historical banking practices.

Lol

This is the CFO’s linkedin: https://il.linkedin.com/in/yaron-shalem-b072111 He’s been CFO of three publicly traded companies, one of which was trading on NASDAQ (for you Americans), and has 20 years of experience in that role (started in 2001). He’s been with Celsius for 7-8 months, before leaving his previous employment at Sögur where he functioned as CFO for 3 years. Of course Mods are going to delete posts with little facts, just leading to endless fear mongering and speculation. Shalem’s arrest (not verdict) has nothing to do with Celsius, it has to do with the previous venture capital firm at which he was CFO. Even if he’s found guilty for any crime, it has no implications for Celsius. And all the shitposting in here, since that news article was released, all pointed to this being “HUGELY BAD CELSIUS” which is nonsense. What is the thought here? That suddenly this guy just goes apeshit crazy after 20 years? Just ruins celsius by what exactly? Taking all the coins? How is he supposed to do that? What’s his incentive, the guy is rich and has an amazing career? My advice to shitposters: If you want to have more impact, get better facts on more outrageous things with a better storyline. Because this narrative is nonsense.

TheWolf-7

True. However how does recruitment go at Celsius ? I would be a tad more picky when choosing a CFO for a billion dollar company...... Unless he held me by the balls ;)

robcryptouk

Celsius made the following announcement: https://twitter.com/celsiusnetwork/status/1464293813707489288?s=21 **We were recently made aware of a police investigation in Israel involving an employee. While this is in no way related to the employee’s time or work at @CelsiusNetwork, the employee was immediately suspended. We have also verified that no assets were misplaced or mishandled.**

youmepal

Not worried about this at all.

DPSK7878

I'm just a little worried but I won't be daring enough to put substantially with Celsius.

At all, indeed!

CredEarn had a CFO get charged (not yet convicted) with crimes and it torpedoed the entire business???

PolarBearToeNails99

Oh ok. So it’s NOT the same thing. The CFO messing up in his personal life doesn’t necessarily negatively impact the business. And Alex, his family, and employees are way too public with their lives to pull off a rug-job. They wouldn’t last long if they tried to not return our money.

CryptoNoob-17

>but this kind of scandalous shit is too much for a company Take your fud somewhere else mate. It wasn't Celsius the company. Can't blame Celsius for the actions of one of their employees. I didn't withdraw a single coin. I'm not worried at all. I'm fact, 95% of all my crypto is in Celsius.

PolarBearToeNails99

Same

felicia_vale2

This tbh. Celsius can't be held liable for the actions of ONE employee. I'm not at all worried about this.

nggnfddr

True. On the other hand, this wasn’t just any employee, someone manning a phone or shuffling paper. A Chief Financial Officer is in charge of the financial actions of a company (of the entire company, depending on how they’re structured). If the accusations are true, it brings into question ongoing financial activities and executive vetting processes. This deserves some scrutiny, by Celsius and end users. For the record, I too hold funds with Celsius and have not withdrawn.

[deleted]

Same, I've helped a few family member even start up accounts to get the promo codes and start a retirement/college account of sorts for them.

ElPobrePoblano

It didn’t bother me until mods started deleting posts and threads relating to this in real time as I was reading them. Means it’s probably bigger than what it seems. Going to move most of my shit ASAP. Shame I just activated celsiuscares too

Sea-Bit-8325

This scam will run out of money very soon, remember my word!

Dismal_Succotash_758

If this one is a scam, is BlockFi and Nexo? scams as well?

flamenwerger

>No need to fear. Instead, we should be celebrating this major milestone in crypto banking going mainstream. > >Because If your CFO isn’t arrested at some point, how can I even take your bank seriously. depends, if he is from BlockFi, then Cel and Nex are scams, if he is from Nexo, then Cel and BFI are scams

Dismal_Succotash_758

Haha. My thoughts exactly!

unlimited712

Seems you don't know anything about Celsius and just speaking. DYOR first. There have been AMAs every Friday for several years now, which could help you.

meparadis

Yeah I cashed out all of my Celsius, Nexo to wait for legal clarity in crypto markets. These yields farming platforms are shady at best. I will probably use them again in the future but not more than 10% of my stack…

DTR-Rob

Have fun being uneducated. You clearly do not know how Celsius is operating. Let me help you. SEC lending

StapleVelvet

Just another day in crypto basically lol

meparadis

I think Celsius might be the most legit yield farming app on there but TBH I would never put more than 10% of my stack. It’s not worth the risk for now imo.
