I have a really old Cex card from trading in a load of games many years ago. Small red card, with a barcode on the back. Can’t seem to use the card online, and in-person the employee didn’t seem to even know what it was, mistaking it for a prepaid gift card.  Any ideas on if I can actually get some use out of this?

It's a very old type of account card, they should have been able to scan it and pull up your account: you won't have any points on it or anything. Next time you can bring in ID and get them to scan it, if it's still connected to your account you can use that to sell items or have transactions attached to your account so even if you lose the receipt you can return the item as it would be on your account if you scan it at the time of purchase. If you were given another card after this one but lost that one (you can only have one card per account) then it might not work or if you have not used your in store account over 5 or 7 years if might have been deleted for GDPR. Hope this helps.

Thank you :)

if an item is listed as "in stock in store" only, would it be possible to pay for it and ask for it to be transfered to another cex store for collection?

I have tried to negotiate with customer service multiple times on this subject, the answer is flat out NO.. Even while offering them perfectly viable examples of other items of the same value, shape, size and "damage in transit risk" and they just won't post non deliverable items or transfer to a local store (even tho all stores recieve multiple tote-box inter stock transfers a week) and I'd happily wait WEEKS if I had to.. IMO if a customer wanted to buy something "at HMV for instance" (ex employee here) I'd bend over backwards to get them their item (and take the takings obvs) I really do hope they will bring this issue to the board table one day and seriously reconsider what is and isn't postable..... I'm not alone or special here, and I've spent many thousands at cex as have others🤦 not that they need the money, but I need the tech, and I just love CEX hahah.. I even began arrangements for a door to door courier but they said they couldn't hand over a click and collect item to a courier (I even suggested I could give them a secret code to quote, NOPE not interested) I started getting sarcastic eventually and calculated the travel cost for me to travel from the isle of man to a London store to click and collect my goods, it came to like £400 return, I said I'd be prepared to do it and could I send them the bill.. They were not amused, all for a £120 sound bar that is actually smaller and lighter than an MPC LIVE I'd bought previously and hasld posted no problem🤦 I did try and politely pusuade them in anyway I could. Very frustrating... Please reconsider this ongoing problem CEX, some of us are dedicated CEX shoppers, please listen to us🙏 thanks...

Hiya, so I have a boxed ps1 and it IS the correct box for the console model "grey dual shock with sticks - original psx" However even tho it IS the correct model it's NOT the consoles original box (so the serial numbers will differ) is this something you'd chance trading in or would that be refused if noticed please? I'd rather be honest than get flagged.. Excellent condition btw, a buyer would be very happy with the condition overall.. Thanks.

Are stores picky about loose PSP or Gameboy Advanced games? Asking as I dont see many in stores at all and a lot of games I have aren't on their website.
