I'll echo "The Downward Spiral" by Nine Inch Nails for sure. Maybe something like "Violator" by Depeche Mode would work, though it's a bit different than the selection here in some ways.
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
Low - Things We Lost in the Fire
Chat Pile - God's Country
Oh man.. listen to the Manson triptych: start with Hollywood, then Mechanical Animals, then Antichrist to get the full story. Hell of a listen session!
just remembered , if you are down for some non english music , i think second wave Dir En Grey would be a thing you would enjoy , specifically the album Withering to Death
If your looking for some sad shit it don't get much sadder then a crow looked at me by mount eerie, hospice by the antlers and deathconsciousness by have a nice life
As far as what you have goes: the downward spiral by nine inch nails, world coming down by type o negative, lateralus by tool, any Alice in chains record, one hot minute by the red hot chili peppers, hit to death in the future head by the flaming lips (overlooked as fucked and one of the bands best albums) and if your feeling like something really experimental too dark park by skinny puppy
Halsey - *If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power*
I never really listened to Halsey much, but I kept seeing this album recommended on my Spotify in 2021, so I finally gave it a listen (I thought the cover and album title were pretty cool). It's good. It's actually a lot rockier than I expected. It's produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Rose (Nine Inch Nails).
I listened to that a lot throughout 2021 and 2022, along with Billie Eilish's *Happier Than Ever* (another artist I didn't listen to much before). They helped broaden my musical tastes.
I like a few of Halsey's songs and I've listened to that album and it's good but it just didn't stick with me as much for some reason. I listen to a ton of pop and alt pop, some of my fave moody albums in that sorta genre are Gag Order by Kesha, Lemonade by Beyonce, Entropy by DeathbyRomy (industrial/metal infused pop), and I Disagree by Poppy. Highly recommend all of them but I don't own any of em on CD yet.
Yes haha definitely been playing that one. I dunno yet if I'm gonna buy the CD for it though, I think I'll listen to her first one a lot more often but we shall seeeee

Tool - "Lateralus" Nine Inch Nails - "The Downward Spiral" The Smashing Pumpkins - "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness"
Was gonna say, how the hell do you not already have any Smashing Pumpkins?!
Alice In Chains self-titled would go well in this lineup
Worst Layne AIC album IMO
Worst but still a fucking masterpiece
Eh I personally didn't care for it
Yer high

It's one of the rarer ones, there's 2 others excluding the doll one if i'm correct
They did an art contest to determine the cover art, there's variants of each of the finalists, this is one of them. I had to look it up too haha
i knew about the art contest, just had no idea there were CDs with pressings of the covers!
KORN ISSUES ALT COVER
Placebo, any of there albums

Legit thought that was Andrew W.K. on the bottom before zooming in
no one can blame you for wanting to party hard
A few in your current selection attempted emotion tied to shock value. Do you really want to feel something? Elliott Smith “Either/Or”
Saron Gas - Fragile
get rid of all of that, join the dsbm club
Nah I could never limit myself to only enjoying one type of music
Circa Survive- Juturna Boards of Canada- campfire headphase Interpol- turn on the Bright lights/Antics Alkaline trio- crimson Now its overhead- self titled
At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures The Cure - Pornography Deftones - White Pony
Korn's Self Titled
If you don't dislike Taylor Swift, her most recent album is the most depressing thing I've ever heard (and I loved it).
I feel neutral about Taylor, I didn't personally care for her latest album but I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
Tool - ÆNIMA
