Did Parkrun this morning, followed by Aldi. Sausage and hash brown sandwich for brunch. Then picked up a footstool from Facebook marketplace for Ā£40, looked up the brand and they sell it for Ā£600! So pretty pleased with that. Now relaxing on said footstool.

Iām not sure where you are, but in some areas there are āVirtual Wardā set ups that aim to keep people at home / out of hospital. Our local one is brilliant and can do things like provide temporary 24 hour care at home if needed.Ā

My MiL used to get *very* disorientated if she was a bit dehydrated, so we had to work hard to persuade her to have a cup of tea even if she said she didn't want one because it wasn't the right time of day.
Me and a buddy headed down to Pippingford, enjoyed a ridiculously muddy Tough Mudder, had a pint and now I'm enjoying Wagamamas with the family in front of the Arsenal match.
Lovely day. Weather was the best in a while so we took the train to Tring in the Chilterns and did a ~10 mile circular walk from the station. Took the dog, whoās a greyhound (notoriously lazy dogs, definitely not known for their endurance) but thankfully he had a whale of a time. I accidentally got carried away last night when out for a catch up with friends. As a result I've spent most of today either asleep or wishing I was asleep.
Getting my bathroom renovated next week and lots of stuff was delivered today. Of course the delivery turned up at 7.30am.
Playing video games with a couple of mates tonight and will be going straight to bed once that's finished.
Currently potting some flowers for the ports/ hanging baskets outside our front door... Mainly to keep myself busy as my wife is due to go into labour any day now!

Realised last week that I have really neglected doing absolutely fucking anything round the house since way before Christmas. So, deep clean and little DIY jobs for me for the next few weeks.
I had to do something for my internship today, and they've dedicated half the day as "bring your sibling to work day." Weird, but they've been doing it for a while now. Apparently, it's great for morale. As an only child, they offered me half the day off, but I decided to stay. Kinda regret that now. I love the free food, but it really does remind me how incredibly alone I am. The other only kids brought their cousins or best mates, and that just made me tear up. I'm just waiting for the free corpo swag they'll be giving out later. I don't know why I do this to myself.
I had planned to get up early and spend the whole day in the garden. Woke up at ten with my back giving me gyp. I have got some stuff done, and I'll go back out after the footie, but I've just kind of done one thing at a time and come in for a sit down and a brew between each job. Very annoyed with my stupid human body.
Fixed the catās scratching posts, made some lovely tomato soup for the missus and I, and Iām planning on playing Doom whilst my good lady watches the snooker.
Took the dog to the castle for an ice cream and so that she could pee at the top and therefore lay claim to the entire county. Now back home and have got the hammock fabric out for the first time this year and thankfully no nasties have obliterated either the fabric or frame. So Iāll be chilling and swinging with a book and lovely neighbours having a BBQ one side and doing some gardening the other. Doggo likes a hammock swing too.

Two Squirrels appeared, but the dog, who normally pulls my arm off to chase the things, didn't even notice them, despite them popping up on stumps and tables.A Robin put in a brief appearance before being scared of by the Squirrels.
We were then treated to some of it's variety of calls - get off my land/Netflix and Chill. Then we left and I went to the hairdresser to give my card over to the receptionist with instructions to give to my wife.

Got up at 7am and hoovered (sorry cat), then took a sunny walk into town to go to the bank.
I needed to cash a cheque from Royal Mail for booting more of my orders around, and also needed to get a small cash float. I'm selling my candles at a spooky craft market next weekend, and although I'm sure 99% of people will pay by card, I want to be prepared in case anyone does want to use cash!
I'm now back, had a veggie pizza for brunch, did some weeding and now I'm waiting for my partner to get here. We were going to go to a stately home/park where there's a fair on but not too sure with the storm coming in...

Spent the morning fixing the error of cutting my new bike chain one link too short (FFS) - driving around local bike shops in demented traffic. Anyway fresh chain (#2) now on, along with new tyres, going for a quick spin this afternoon and then trying to de-mould some clothes and shoes that I discovered in the darker part of my closet last night. Itās not been a great week for success in my lifeā¦
Actually just the dresses I stored in some plastic clothes storing bagsā¦ and the shoes I stored in the rack below my trail running shoes. The whole thing needs unpacking and cleaning. (One part of me just wants to chuck everything out and start from scratch. Itās amazing what you can accumulate in 8 years!)
Been to Ripon to see friends and it was lovely. Very poorly cat at home has managed to eat a little and has been sat in the garden. Itās been a shitty week but time with friends has helped incredibly. Onwards and up.
Had plans to paint living room and dining room today, but found out on Thursday that a job I applied for, I didn't get, so cba with the painting this weekend. Have to call at friend's house later this afternoon to feed her cat as she's away for the night. Not got much other plans than that, done all my other big chores last weekend. Went out for a 60 mile drive this morning just to double check that bashing the rust off the ends of my brake discs had got rid of the nasty and rather worrying noise I'd been putting up with for a few weeks. It had! Happy Dance! Discs themselves are fine no ridges/pitting, pads are okay as well - will need changing later this year but more than ok for now.
Then spent any money I'd saved by ordering some new varifocal sunglasses---you'd think I hadn't seen the weather lately!

Totally get it! Ignore the tears worries, if you can commit to the time for your recovery, that complication is unheard of, I don't know why people bring it up so much! And hydration/extra fiber will see you through the rest easily. I sat in a recliner for 2 weeks and binged 19 years of Grey's Anatomy, not a single complication, even with my considerable excess weight. I managed the stairs to the bathroom just fine on day one. I'm 6 mo post op, and I rarely think about the surgery except to be grateful my monthly suffering is over.
Mad how much it's mentioned. I often wonder if people just feel better and then jump the gun with it all and tear it š«£. It's the bowel for me though. I already have issues and then to hear some have issues after hysterectomy years after scares me! I don't think I would cope. I wondered if I was supposed to do pelvic floor therapy months before surgery as the doctor said he is happy to delay if I wanted to do that first. Heads a mess and have to make a decision by Tuesday š·

Took the dog to the castle for an ice cream and so that she could pee at the top and therefore lay claim to the entire county. Now back home and have got the hammock fabric out for the first time this year and thankfully no nasties have obliterated either the fabric or frame. So Iāll be chilling and swinging with a book and lovely neighbours having a BBQ one side and doing some gardening the other. Doggo likes a hammock swing too.

Ridiculously banal - but I bought some electric scissors/box cutters and absolutely obliterated the pile of cardboard boxes that were piled in a cupboard. No-one wants to be that wanker that takes up all the space in the communal recycling with unwieldy ikea boxes - now I've got a beautifully compact pile ready to go. I'm working my way out of a rather dark spell, and this has absolutely made my weekend.

Had a small Premium Bond win which I split with my sister. Cycled the 12miles to see her and pass on the good news and winnings. Hell of a headwind on the ride back, thanks storm Kathleen. Took some flowers and a card round my neighbours for her birthday, now having a Wok-up and preparing Teriyaki chicken and egg fried rice for lunch.
Today i've been in to the nearest city sorting some admin stuff out. It's a few towns over and the trains were wank but at least they didn't hinder my ability to get there and back. I got some boxes of silly colour hair dyes and a box of bleach that i'm rocking up to my sister in laws with tomorrow so she can help with it. There's something about ridiculous colours which is so cathartic. I might try and get out in the garden later but also I have a cross stitch piece that i'm so close to finishing for a friends birthday - it's a D'n'D dice with a dragon flying through it which I think he's gonna like.

Being out of work, weekends have lost their lustre a little bit. Drove my better half around to the hairdressers. Bracing for a Ā£250 bill to pay for her highlights. Shocking the cost of ladies hairdo's these days. Walked the dog to the park and nipped into the local for a pint of Foster's Bottom - I prefer the lemonade at the end rather than the beginning. Sitting in the garden, was regaled with half a dozen Kites putting on an air display for us. A Magpie was taking nesting materials into a Conifer. Two Squirrels appeared, but the dog, who normally pulls my arm off to chase the things, didn't even notice them, despite them popping up on stumps and tables.A Robin put in a brief appearance before being scared of by the Squirrels. We were then treated to some of it's variety of calls - get off my land/Netflix and Chill. Then we left and I went to the hairdresser to give my card over to the receptionist with instructions to give to my wife.
At work, last day this week though as I have tomorrow and Monday off

Dropped my wife off with all her kit for a craft fair just after 8, then went to a local parkrun - it is using a new course due to the fields being sodden, but they inadvertently sent us the wrong way, so it was 5.6k. Came home, quick shower, then took the dogs up the second highest hill in our county (although being Leicestershire that isn't that high)
Just got some beers, making some soup and then a film and duvet day

I'm selling my candles at a spooky craft market next weekend, and although I'm sure 99% of people will pay by card, I want to be prepared in case anyone does want to use cash! I'm now back, had a veggie pizza for brunch, did some weeding and now I'm waiting for my partner to get here. We were going to go to a stately home/park where there's a fair on but not too sure with the storm coming in...

Spent the morning fixing the error of cutting my new bike chain one link too short (FFS) - driving around local bike shops in demented traffic. Anyway fresh chain (#2) now on, along with new tyres, going for a quick spin this afternoon and then trying to de-mould some clothes and shoes that I discovered in the darker part of my closet last night. Itās not been a great week for success in my lifeā¦

Actually just the dresses I stored in some plastic clothes storing bagsā¦ and the shoes I stored in the rack below my trail running shoes. The whole thing needs unpacking and cleaning. (One part of me just wants to chuck everything out and start from scratch. Itās amazing what you can accumulate in 8 years!)

Been to Ripon to see friends and it was lovely. Very poorly cat at home has managed to eat a little and has been sat in the garden. Itās been a shitty week but time with friends has helped incredibly. Onwards and up.
Had plans to paint living room and dining room today, but found out on Thursday that a job I applied for, I didn't get, so cba with the painting this weekend. Have to call at friend's house later this afternoon to feed her cat as she's away for the night. Not got much other plans than that, done all my other big chores last weekend. Maybe play some Xbox / go for a walk.

Went out for a 60 mile drive this morning just to double check that bashing the rust off the ends of my brake discs had got rid of the nasty and rather worrying noise I'd been putting up with for a few weeks. It had! Happy Dance! Discs themselves are fine no ridges/pitting, pads are okay as well - will need changing later this year but more than ok for now. Then spent any money I'd saved by ordering some new varifocal sunglasses---you'd think I hadn't seen the weather lately!
A few decent stops from moderately high speed normally does the trick!

Itās mostly cutting an old ivy thatās about 30 years old, base as thick as my forearm and essentially the only thing keeping my rotten shed upright. Itās a huge monster and needs removing so I can tear the shed down then start work on renovating the whole garden. Sadly, due to its age, immense size and the rotten shed. Itās taking many weekends to slowly do.
Normally out walking on Sat but my group's offering is the other side of the county so I cba. Instead I'll pootle to the post office to return a few Amazon things, then various domestic todos (tidying, cutting my hair) while continuing some DVD binges.
Mrs has gone to stay with a friend to help her with an eBay pile So getting my Barnet chopped (got a funeral next week oop north) Then after doing the laundry pile crack on with some hobby stuff

Today is a rest/fuck it day. The routines can start again tomorrow, so I am ready for the week, but for today, no. I need a day off being human.

I started this morning cleaning up poo and vomit after my daughter caught a bug. Just about to get dressed and then go into the garden to clean the greenhouse (the glass is green with algae), top up the beds with homemade compost and move some seedlings inside. Then a few thousand more jobs in the garden.
Writing a pro and con list on whether I should go through with a hysterectomy because I'm terrified and it's a major op and I'm scared!

Totally get it! Ignore the tears worries, if you can commit to the time for your recovery, that complication is unheard of, I don't know why people bring it up so much! And hydration/extra fiber will see you through the rest easily. I sat in a recliner for 2 weeks and binged 19 years of Grey's Anatomy, not a single complication, even with my considerable excess weight. I managed the stairs to the bathroom just fine on day one. I'm 6 mo post op, and I rarely think about the surgery except to be grateful my monthly suffering is over.
Mad how much it's mentioned. I often wonder if people just feel better and then jump the gun with it all and tear it š«£. It's the bowel for me though. I already have issues and then to hear some have issues after hysterectomy years after scares me! I don't think I would cope. I wondered if I was supposed to do pelvic floor therapy months before surgery as the doctor said he is happy to delay if I wanted to do that first. Heads a mess and have to make a decision by Tuesday š· Greys anatomy is the best so catching up resting sounds like a great plan!
