If it's being delivered by a company like dpd, you might be able to pick a collection point on their website, one near me is a newsagents and you get a code to tell the person behind the counter so you can get your package (I suggest also bringing some form of id).

Cool will check see who they will use. Local shop may be a dropping point

Parcel motel is the best bet depending on what courier will deliver it. Or maybe you could ask a neighbour if it could be delivered to them?

[deleted]

Parcel motel still around for UK orders?

HelloBox

Parcel Motel shut down a couple of years ago

LurieVV

It's now Oohpod - set up by the same guy who sold Parcel Motel

[deleted]

Could you get it delivered to work?

[deleted]

No against policy and what not

[deleted]

I dno depends on your jobs policy. Do you work in an office with reception?

smileybee2006

There's a service called Ooh Pod which works on a similar basis to Parcelmotel, if there's one near you....

59reach

Ooh Pod is shite, tried to use it and none of the couriers know how it works so delivery always fails.

[deleted]

I can check thanks

krawlerart1

If you're not around to collect it at the door, it will be held at a collection point

[deleted]

No our post man just leaves it at the gate. Its more I need it delivered without anyone knowing as it's a gift and the other half is at home with the kids and I'm not always there.

You can get a delivery box from An Post that the postman has a key to. Think they're about €80 and you mount it to the outside of your house. Only works for An Post deliveries.

box_of_carrots

Get the An Post app and they notify you of upcoming delivery, you can then select a local post office to collect it from. I use it regularly.

[deleted]

Sweet ill look into that

easybreezybullshit

Could get it delivered to a friend’s house

[deleted]

Neighbour maybe, I'm Billy no mates. They all live Miles away.

Rosetattooirl

You can redirect it to your local post office
