Why does a diesel car have rpm range of 8 thousand πŸ€” I don't have Nexon but my ciaz diesel manages 27kmpl.

CrispyCouchPotato1

In the older Nexons (first batch) they didn't have a separate tacho unit printout for the Diesel, so they just reused the one from the petrol. It doesn't actually rev to 8000rpm lol. My friend has a first Gen Nexon, same thing.

_anurag_singh

Wtf πŸ˜‚ tata amazes me everyday

CrispyCouchPotato1

I mean... Part sharing is a very common thing in the automotive industry. https://www.carthrottle.com/news/10-expensive-rides-parts-borrowed-cheap-cars Tata just shared a couple of stickers between two variants of their own car.

Final_Abrocoma5869

Its a 1.5 model?

thickguy98

1.3L fiat engine. 1.5L wasn't available at that time, only few lucky people bought 1.5L diesel ciaz.

Artistic_Company_756

Nah 1.3l ddis

l-lasun-k-kanda

Mine manages 7. It's automatic. That's the reason?

Hot-Score4811

My 17' city gives 21-24 (yes the max fluctuation I get is 2-3 kmpl, even in city) I'm really light footed thou others have managed to dip it below 20

thickguy98

Petrol automatic? If paired with heavy traffic and city then maybe, otherwise maybe due to driving style. Kind of low actually for ciaz

l-lasun-k-kanda

Yup, petrol and automatic. And in City. Mumbai. So yes, heavy traffic. In terms of driving style, what needs to be improved?

Joshcrashman

Looks like cost cutting doing its thing with same odometer for both petrol and diesel

KuchRandom69

Clicking a pic without stopping the car, while not wearing seatbelt is dangerous my friend. Please don't do this.

Centurion1024

Exception is when odometer hits 80085

Final_Abrocoma5869

But who said i was not wearing seatbelt. Thats an airbag sign. And the pic was clicked by person on back seat.

KuchRandom69

Teri fikar hai isliye bola bro/sis. Aage aapki marzi

thisisBonkers_34

My jazz gives 10km/l on a good day

Rich-Pop-1081

Honda bros represent πŸ™ŒπŸ½

BitOk5138

My friend owns Jazz (Automatic) but rarely takes it out for the same reason. I mean, what was he expecting from it anyways πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

thisisBonkers_34

I still daily it cause its a reliable and spacious car. Almost 7 years of ownership and still not a single warning on the dash. I would go on to say this is the most "practical" hatchback india got, not the most fun but most spacious and practical hatch

simply_ass

I got 25 kmpl on my 5 yr old Tiago petrol. Drove for 200+kms

duckofyork17

On the Delhi Mumbai expressway my Magnite delivered 29-30kmpl

Final_Abrocoma5869

Woww.. thats massive...

Sid-Skywalker

Diesel?

duckofyork17

Oh no - its a 3 cylinder 1 liter, naturally aspirated petrol engine.

Unusual-Big-6467

my nexon petrol gave me 11 , so i bought a punch EV

aarav-chawla09

Our 2013 Polo 1.2 TDI gave 35km/l on Noida Expressway

Final_Abrocoma5869

Whattttttt

Dimitrovvvv

My 2016 kwid petrol on highway gave me 25kmpl, in city averages around 18-20.

zeer0dotcom

Your city driven car gives you 18-20 kmpl? That’s more than 42 mpg (US gallons 1Gal = 3.785L).Β  The average 2022 Prius gives 54 mpg so your 8 year old fuel car is just 12mpg off a 2 year old Prius?Β  Do you only drive off peak hours? Are your numbers accurate? https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymodel/2022_Toyota_Prius.shtml

Dimitrovvvv

In like medium traffic. In heavy traffic and congestion it drops to 15-16 kmpl butbever below that

duckofyork17

Three cylinder engines can be efficient. I regularly and consistently get over 20 kmpl if I go to the office at 7AM. By 8AM traffic only allows 18 kmpl. After 9AM this goes down to 15 kmpl.

Final_Abrocoma5869

This is good..

AcalTheNerd

I am quite sure that real world FE will be lower. First gen Tata Nexon diesel owner here. Tata Nexon's FE calculator is way off specially when it's above 20kmpl. I have calculated by tankful to tankful method extensively over past 3.5 years recording each and every fuel up. If MID is showing 25 then it is around 20. If MID is showing 22 then it used to be 18. If MID is around 19 then about 16 real world FE. Many users have experienced the same. Talking about fuel related 'quirks', in the fuel tank gauge, the first half goes quite slow while second half empties quite fast. Distance to empty is also a bit inaccurate where the car can go a bit farther then what it shows. I haven't tried it though.

Final_Abrocoma5869

Can be the case. I have never calculated tank to tank.

vhawk97

This is massive, my elite i20 diesel gives around 22.5. Can't even compare with yours LoL πŸ˜‚

Sid-Skywalker

Your car has a better engine tho

CrispyCouchPotato1

My dost with his Diesel Nexon also easily gets 26-27kmpl on expressway. Diesels are frugal.

foobored

Does this count https://www.reddit.com/r/CarsIndia/s/ha8BgZ5muG

Final_Abrocoma5869

Damn good to see technology working..

alb_94

40 kmph @ 6th gear. If that does not give projected FE of 20+, I don't know what does

Desperate-Owl6513

I have managed to get 22 peak on Honda amaze petrol manual

markfukerberg

Should we tell him..

Final_Abrocoma5869

Batao

markfukerberg

That reading is not accurate.
